Good news everyone! We have a new update as of this morning (depending on your time zone.) Poodles! Poodles are super cute.
But also, you can DYE them any dye color! Here's a magenta one.
In addition, you can shear them just like sheep. They'll grow their fur back after a couple of minutes or if you feed them meat. Eventually they'll be able to grow it back by eating out of dog bowls, once we have dog bowls.
They do drop wool, though not as much as a sheep. And while we realize that poodle hair/fur is definitely not sheep wool, it's actually very similar, and if you Google it you can find plenty of discussions on the topic of whether a poodle's coat can be considered wool. Including an anecdote about the NZ wool board identifying a snippet of poodle coat as definitely wool in the 1950s.
More importantly, wool is already useful in Minecraft, and making a poodle fur item that did basically the same thing seemed silly.
These dogs are like the cutest dogs ever!! Not a lot of people know what they are, but im sure once they have seen them they will explode with cuteness!!

We have tons of dogs we want to add, I will admit i have having issues with perfecting the fluffy/long haired dogs. so right now it's mostly short hair dogs. I've never made models before so I'm in the process of learning via trial and error.

I've all ready made a french bulldog we just haven't released him. At the current moment shetland sheep dogs are not on my list, I'm trying to do more mainstream breeds than i'll start are the more specific ones.

Me too! I was looking for a good dog mod and couldn't find one I really liked. So I got together with my best friend Zeus and we made our own!! Please I encourage anyone that wants to make a showcase to do so. This mod is for everyone to enjoy!

We will be adding more breeds as we go along.
As for litters it will never be implemented into the game, a lot of things will be happening with breeding in the future tho.
As far as leashes they are all ready in the game so we didn't see the need to add them again. When you put your dog on a lead in the most up to date version of the mod the leads will become to color of the dogs collar and sit on the correct spot on the collar.
In the future we do want to add dog sleds for the husky, but in the next update we hope to bring dog bowls and the feeding option.
I LOVE this mod. However, I'm experiencing a glitch. I put my dog in it's dog house, took it out, and then put it back in again. This time I was not able to take my dog out of the house and it just made a crying noise every time I went to take it out with the dog whistle. So I destroyed the house and my dog was forever lost. After I bred my two dogs and put the puppy in it's house for the first time, I wasn't able to remove the puppy from it's house at all!

First thing, there's an updated version from what you're using. It's always worth updating the mod first to see if that fixes it. This problem might actually be Minecraft though, as I'm not seeing any of my classes in the stack trace.

You have probably played 1.8 in this launcher. Your problem is likely due to options.txt in the Minecraft folder file having a render distance set really high (because of 1.8). From what I read, "Minecraft doesn't validate that the render distance is a supported value before trying to use it (apparently)." -Source
Deleting the options.txt file is the fix for this crash for most people who experience it.

Pugs are made, just haven't put them in game yet! We where in the middle of poodles when dan requested them in his videos

In your next update,, you should have two different breeds be able to breed a mutt. That would super cute.
Also, the dogs should be able to interact with each other!
