this is i guess somewhat an update on my pom pom he's back! he's been back since the week after Christmas thank god a friend found him, but he's been having health issues like i think seizures or something super scary.., but anyway just kinda wanted to give and update and to say that i really love this mod and it's kept minecraft fun for me always adding in happiness and it's always nice to have a different dog then the normal wolf you tame!
he's back! my dog came back a week after Christmas with fleas but other then that he was fine but recently he's been having some health problems only about a week ago he had these terribly yipping sounds like he was in extreme pain and he'd go up to you but then snap at you when you went to touch him but he hasn't done that since so hopefully it was a one time thing since we don't have money to take him to the vet so any health problems that can't be fixed on it's own then he'd have to be put down and that's one thing i don't want...
I love this mod. Have it in every modpack I use. (privately of course) If dogs could do a bit more, and a few more breeds (I love the fact that they come in different colors by the way), then this mod would honestly be my favorite.
Breeds to add to the list:
Pit Bulls(not the stereotypical short beefy 'dangerous' ones. My pit bull was tall and lean.): Black, Tan, Brindle.
Border Collie: Brown, Red, Light Tan.
(those are all I have in mind. keep up the great work!)
Not sure if this has been brought to your attention, but there's a minor conflict with the Minecraft Comes Alive mod. It involves the recipe for the dog whistle. If both mods are installed, then the standard 3 iron recipe will produce the needle item from MCA (as both the needle and dog whistle share the same recipe).
A simple work around is to go into the config and look for the "doggystyles.cfg" file and change "Whether a dog whistle is required to open the dog menu."
to false. This will allow you to give commands to the dog with an empty hand.

Hey, I dunno if anyone else uses JourneyMap with DoggyStyle, but if anyone is interested, I'm making dog icons for the entity radar (2D only, simple pixel). I'm doing my best to stay true to the dog models. Would it be alright if I post a link to maybe a zip file of the icon pack or something when it's done? (it would be posted to my Google Drive, just because I really don't have a better place to upload files at the moment :/)

Sadly I'm still having trouble with Taint biomes and DoggyStyle. I'm gonna have to disable DoggyStyle for now.

I suspect that the "PotionEffect" in the crash report is indeed Taint affecting the dog in some kind of way, such as corruption. I'm not sure why this would cause a crash, but I'd love for it to be debugged by someone if possible, especially with Thaumcraft being such a major mod! Something I feel may be key to it all is this: "Other mobs such as horses, wolves, and spiders, have no tainted form, and will become Thaumic Slimes. (Sometimes big ones!)" taken from here. Does DoggyStyle have some code in place to make dogs immune, or is there something in the code that gets confused when corrupting a dog?
In the meantime I think I have found a way to absolutely stop any possibility of Taint appearing altogether, which isn't an ideal solution but it's better than disabling DoggyStyle.

Hello! all the dogs spawn in sat down? Yeah just wondering how to fix this!
Do they get up and move around normally? Dogs occasionally do sit down and/or lie down, so if they're not stuck like that it's normal. I'm not sure if they spawn in a sitting position or not, but it's possible...

I turn around to make sure my dogs are following, and find that one or more have totally cloned, same appearance, name, and everything! Has anyone had this issue or have any advice?
