The problem with all of the other raptors is, in a Minecraft, they're basically all doing the same thing
Yeah, in this world they were all different enough, but in the world of Minecraft and blocks, they're just going to be Large Raptor as far as most people are concerned
(Now, if we're talking things to add, the short necked tyrant that is the modern Hatzegopteryx might be juuust different enough from Quetzy to put in)

The Emperor's Rage echoes through the hills. The Emperor's Strength grips this land with fists of iron. The Emperor's Courage burns everlasting. The Endless Army will crush the Emperor's foes.
We've finally released some of the mysterious "A" mobs!
First we have the elegant austroraptor, made by Bluestreak:
Next, we have the arsinoitherium, made by Tyranno66! Apparently, he once made a pink arsinoi out of spite, and I think this texture is an amazing homage to that and its hippo descendants.
11 more mobs for my texture pack ohhhh yeah!!! and finally arsinoitherium!!!!
That was my very first question on this mod page and nope was the answer. Personally I like Hatzegopteryx better since its not nearly as over hyped on the internet as the Quetz. However Ill be happy with any pterosaur as long as it is ridable and looks as good as they do in this mod.
Hategopteryx might just be another species of Quetz, so....
Will you allow people to model dinos for addons to this mod? I'd love even more biological diversity.
One of the problems with that is, we have a huge secret list of like 150 creatures and it would be awkward if one of those secret creatures were put in an addon and then we released it ourselves.
Second of all, we're not too thrilled about the idea of addons (though if someone wants to make one, we can't and won't stop you) because there's no way for us to ensure the quality of the content being put in an addon that is associated with our name.
Basically, we like to encourage fans to get creative and make fan art/models, but when it comes to actually adding them in game, things get weird. If that makes sense.

I wanted to stop by as it was a while since I was here last and I like what I see with some of the animals in the next release. A friend of mine loves the carnotaurus and quetzalcoatlus so he's excited for those. I'm also happy to see a prosauropod what with the addition of plateosaurus.
But my main reason for stopping by was to see if a few bugs were fixed. Specifically the marine reptiles never seem to move when they grow up (or at least the icthyosaurus anyway) and fish cannot be placed into the animal feeders meaning to keep the icthyosaur alive you had to feed it constantly if you had starving to death enabled. This made breeding them pointless as being motionless they wouldnt be able to catch any vanila fish on their own. Not to mention that putting nautilus and sturgeon/garrs in their enclosures was pointless as those mobs despawn after a while. I hope this has been taken care of.
Also some animals tend to bug out and constantly play with enrichment toys (specifically therizinosaurs and the entire terror bird group would always be running in circles around a tethered log) to the point of starvation as well. I hope this has been checked out too.
Sorry to go offtopic but want to wish those of you who are resident in america that you've had or will have the ability to view the striking skeptical of the solar eclipse... unlike I who was cursed with cloud cover for almost hundreds of miles.

We will be squashing these bugs with the 1.10.2 update, but unfortunately, it is not finished yet. Sorry to disappoint. But I'm glad you're excited about our future mobs!

Oh I wasnt expecting the release anytime soon this is a very big update after all, glad to know the bugs I referred to are being addressed. I have a pretty ambitious project when the new version is released and this news helps me a lot.
Another species of that thing? I hope not. A question concerning them both. Which was the largest one? Everyone says differently and it seems to be a matter of opinion rather than objective facts.
It seems my information was slightly out of date.
Basically, originally, the both Quetz and Hatzegoptrix were much more similar to each other than they were to any of the other members of Azhdarchidae, leading to paleontologists believing they might be one in the same (After all, we believe Quetz could have crossed the oceans due to its size and speed and flight time) but apparently the neck and jaw of Hatzegoptrix are different enough from the Quetz skull specimen we do have that they are still seperate.
I am curious, are you guys working on the time machine at this point or is that on hold for now?
Currently, the coders are working on the 1.10.2 update which will add no new content (but will fix bugs). All the artists on the team are working on planning the dimension and creating the huge amounts of prehistoric creatures that we'll need to fill it. So, to answer your question, yes and no

I stand corrected
That's a pity. I would have loved to see Utahraptor or Achillobator.

There was an edgy statement on "skeletons and zombies being undead humans" but I erased it lol

Expect four new previews tonight! Their initials are B, D, S, and M. Got any guesses?
Also, at least one of them isn't on our public list!
