I went to create a new waypoint group then move a waypoint into it.
Thanks for the feedback and reporting the crash! I'll check out the crash report.
As for creating waypoints on the world map, it's not straight-forward but I'll consider it.
EDIT: Can you be more specific on how you created a wp set and tried to move a wp into it? Doesn't crash for me.
I was in the menu for it, and clicked the wp set button, then a new one, went back to the old one and clicked edit, and added it to the new set, and it crashed.

* Fixed the game crashing when deleting a waypoint while holding the left mouse button over it in the waypoints menu.
* Fixed Unicode characters in waypoint names not saving properly on Windows OS.
* Fixed the game sometimes (~1/300 probability) crashing when entering a cave for the first time since the game start with Xaero's World Map installed. More often this happened on world load if the player was in a cave (much higher probability).
* Improved backwards compatibility of waypoints data. However, please still make your own backups (the mod makes them too) when skipping MC versions (for example going from 1.7.10 to 1.12.2, skipping 1.8, 1.9 etc) or skipping A LOT OF mod versions. There usually shouldn't be any issues. I found and fixed one though.
* Fixed "undefined packet discriminator" errors.

I love this mod it really makes it easier to navigate my wold but i can't figure out how to set up the way point teleportation. I'm using the 1.12.2 version on a hamachi server and it keeps telling me that it's an unknown command so i tried to find the config folder but i can't find it in my mods folder

The mod uses the /tp command. You can change the command used in the mod settings (press Y -> find "Teleport Command").
I've been having an issue on my server. I have a creative world and a survival world that is accessed via a portal.
When I want to teleport between waypoints, it only works if the waypoints are part of the (auto) subworld. If not, the teleport option is not able to be clicked on, even though I definitely have complete TP permission.
And so I have a set of waypoints in "5 - subworld" which is my survival world, and another set in the creative world, but I can only ever use 1 set of waypoints at a time. If i want to use the other ones, I need to change the other one to auto.
Is this a feature? Or is there a way for me to automatically use the new set of waypoints when I change from one world to another?
I've been trying to figure it out but I have no idea!

You can't teleport to another subworld for obvious reasons. Why do you have the other set on your creative world if it's for the survival world?
EDIT: Switching between worlds using this the portal should change the "auto" world. That's why it's called "auto".

Thank you for the reply I actually got it working. My firned had told me over skype that she had your mod as well but to get hers to work she had to turn on cheats and put in a specific command into the wp command thing. I'm now convinced she does not have your mod because once i deleted the config and txt file for the minimap mod, restarted minecraft and turned on cheats in my new world it's working just fine. So i'm so sorry for the trouble I caused and thank you for putting up with me.

Thanks for the reply Xaero!
I'm definitely not trying to teleport to a different sub-world, I agree that that shouldn't work. But the (auto) doesn't seem to be changing. I have to change it manually, and so until I do that, the new waypoints are not available when I arrive in the other world.
If I am in "World A" with "waypoint set A", I can teleport to those waypoints. Then if I travel to "World B" with "waypoint set B", I cannot teleport to the waypoints from "World B", as "World A" is still set as auto.
I'll have another experiment with it today to see if it's still doing that.
ok I think i must be a dunce but could you please give me an example of how to make a way point grouple and how to put in the tp command because i've tried putting in every tp code type i was given by the "/help tp" thing and none of them worked it just keeps telling me that it is an "unreconized command" and the type "/help". For reference i do have allow cheats on.

There's a difference between the current sub-world and the "auto" sub-world. Are you sure that the "auto" sub-world stays the same? Because when you have manually selected a non-auto sub-world, the currently selected sub-world won't automatically change to the new "auto" world when you go through the portal. But the "auto" still changes even if you're not using it. I can see how this might be the case as you were using the "make auto" feature which technically swaps the contents of 2 sub-worlds. That might have given you a reason to select a non-auto world, which contained the needed waypoint sets, after the swap. You need to manually select the "auto" world again to go back to using the feature. Also, the currently selected sub-world becoming "auto" doesn't reactivate it.
If this isn't the case then it's probably an issue with multiworld detection. The 2 sub-worlds might have the same global spawn point, which is interesting considering they have different game modes. Can you give me the server IP so I can check it?
EDIT: It might also be that making a different sub-world auto doesn't reactivate the auto switching feature. I need to test that.
I need to make exporting waypoints from my web map into your minimap for players who playing on my server. I started learning it and have done with waypoint-files content, but there are problem with naming them...
They has names like "mw9,0,0_3.txt". I start digging in your code and found about it is [spawn coordinates >> 6], so waypoint-file names are depending on server world spawn point. But if that spawnpoints will change? Waypoints will break. What to do with it? Can you make waypoint-file names like just "mw_3.txt"?
Thank you for the replyI did try that but it kep changing it back to the other command my friend had given me no matter how many times i had clicked "confirmed after tying in the command you gave me, but I actually got it working. That's the best solution I could find for multiworld detection without having access to server side. All worlds on the same server and dimension look the same to the client-side. They usually have different global spawn points though. It works in most cases. And no, just "3" isn't enough, it tells us nothing about the world. The client won't know when you enter the world "3". Also, the global spawn point of the world never changes (in vanilla).
If you have a spigot server, this plugin replaces this system with actual world ids: https://www.spigotmc.org/resources/minimapapi.35354/
It's also an API for server-side waypoints but you don't have to use that. I haven't tested the plugin in a long time but it probably works. It might not be backwards compatible with the spawn point system but there's always the "make subworld auto" button.

Glad you fixed it. What was the command that got stuck?
I've used this mod during the 1.8 period and it was good. But when I went to play with it on 1.12, it gave me this error (See image). How would I fix it?

But you are already use world ID's for world detections => "mw9,0,0_3.txt", why to use coordinates along with it? Can you make option in minimap-configuration file to don't use spawnpoint coordinates in waypoints-file names just for cases as I have? Edit: as configuration file I mean not global minimap-config, just config separately for each server waypoints data folder.

These are not world IDs. That's the number you see on the screen so you don't have to look at the coordinates. The server does not tell the client the number 3. The mod looks at the global spawn point and finds the number 3.
Yes, multiworld detection will be optional in the future. When it's disabled, all worlds on the server will use the same waypoint sub-world.
I also just got a crash:
