The minimap has a limited amount of chunks loaded at a time.
I'm working on another mod that can work together with the minimap and it adds a fullscreen map. It's far from being ready though. The progress on it is kind of slow because of things I have going on in life right now. Check out the link in the signature.

Update 1.9.2 (MC 1.9.4, 1.9 and 1.8.9):

+ Added a new option in the minimap settings to disable zoom-in in caves.
+ Added Indonesian language support. Huge thank you to YandiBanyuKarimaWaly for translating!
* Fixed modded liquids not being rendered correctly. Tested with Streams mod.
* Recoded some transparent block rendering.

I can only find a forge for 1.9 , so how can one use this with 1.9.4 with no such forge version ?

I'm want to be using Xaeros_Minimap_1.9.2_Forge_1.9.4, OptiFine_1.9.4_HD_U_B4 I'm new to Forge, would any know if I should go with the newest Forge or not? Forge 1940

Thanks for all your work on this mod, I really like it. the only thing I would add is away to make some waypoints like a beacon, or some for a say Y 5-29.

Greetings,

I am using the 1.7.10 (Xaeros_Minimap_1.9_Forge_1.7.10) version of this mod. I keep seeing news about being able to see players faces in the news in client. However, all I ever see are dots. Have I missed some configuration somewhere?

You should always go with the recommended Forge version if possible.

Player heads are only visible when holding the TAB key. And this doesn't work in safe mode. Safe mode is usually caused by Optifine's "Fast Render" option in video settings - performance. Luckily it's not on by default anymore, everyone still has it on from before though.

You can change the block colours in the mod settings to the ones on vanilla maps. I don't think I can give you an option for contrast, unfortunately.

+ Added a tooltip to the safe mode option which explains what the option is.

Purple dots are entities that don't fall under any other category. You can't configure it for blocks.
