Do you have an example currently of the correct usage for liquid as a component? I tried a couple times fiddling around with a couple settings, but I could never get it to work right- it always crashed. I'm sure it's something I'm doing wrong, I just need to know what that is xD
I'd like to try and get Primal Mana from Thermal Foundation to work as tool parts. Also, I doubt it has to do with your mod, but figured I'd ask; once I actually GET Primal Mana working as a liquid tool component- will it work properly pouring out of the smeltery? Currently I can get it in, but it refuses to pump/drain out.
Thanks for the info! I've been having fun adding lots of tool parts using gems from BoP, Project Red, and AE2
Edit: As a note, this isn't necessarily directed at the OP- if ANYONE has gotten liquid working as a crafting component, I'd be interested in how you did it
Edit2: Just for more information, I've tried this, and it gives me a crash.
Very cool mod. I can't wait to see what the community can do with this mod and hopefully see some community made JSONs in the future to help make a complete material support list.
Ummm... what? This is an addon for Tinkers' Construct and you want to not have the Tinkers' Construct support?
Wat?
No, I mean I want to see if its possible to use it in a pack without Tinker's Construct, or at the very least, see if Tinker's Construct support can only turn on if Tinkers Construct is installed. I am working on a magic-based pack, and one of the devs said we should not add it, because it would make players not ever use any of the magical tools. However, I want to use the Thaumcraft Aspect creation feature, as there are a few aspects I want to create.
Edit: It seems that it works fine without Tinkers Construct, this question is redundant then.
This mod has branched off from only TiC, it can do any TiC weapons, it can also do custom ore berries, custom Botania Brews, custom Thau,craft aspects, TiC smeltery Fuels and custom Fluids and it should work find with TiCDefence

Aha! Thanks to Jaded Cat's Agrarian Skies 2 I have got all the info I need to be able to use this mod! This means...
May I use this mod in a mod pack I probably wont end up publishing?
The reason for me possibly not publishing it is when ever I have a problem I have no one to ask or I have no ideas/motivation for the pack. Help would be appreciated. The only ideas I have so far is a pack based around exploring an enormous amount of dimensions. I have added multiple mods that add a dimension or two. I also am going to find as many mods as I can that let me modify the game to my liking like Quadrum and Minetweaker.

apoclaydon, do you happen to have MineTweaker installed? If so, could you hold the nova water block (not the bucket) and type "/mt hand" without the quotes. This should output the nova water's proper name to be used in the json file to the chat. It will probably say something like:<customitems:nova_water> * 1. take the name that is inbetween customitems: and > then put that as the resource.
PS: I copied your json file and replaced the nova_water with water. Whenever I put my mouse over the water in the smeltery, I crashed.
With this mod, you can add custom Tinker's Construct tool parts via JSON, it is very easy, here is an example:
{
"data":[
{
"name":"First Test",
"key":"testFirst",
"style":"light_purple",
"resource":"minecraft:bedrock",
"materialID":55,
"durability":500,
"miningSpeed":500,
"attack":600,
"reinforced":0,
"primaryColor":7507918,
"value":2,
"handleModifier":1.8,
"stonebound":5.5,
"buildParts":false,
"castingFluid":"gold.molten",
"harvestLevel":2
}
]
}
"name" = The name of the tool, for example: "name":"Ryal" would produce, Ryal Pickaxe, and Ryal Hammer.
"key" = The unlocalized name of this material.
"style" = The color of the tooltip, it supports most names, "red", "blue", "strikethough", etc.
"resource" = The resource that this material will be made out of.
"materialID" = The ID of the tool material.
"durability" = The durability of the tool.
"miningSpeed" = The speed of the tool. ( This will be divided by 10 )
"attack" = The damage that this tool deals. ( This will be divided by 10 )
"reinforced" = An Integer value that dictates how reinforced the tool is.
"primaryColor" = The color of the tool. (In Integer format)
"value" = How much is a single {resource} worth in a part builder.
"handleModifier" = A double value dictating the handle modifier.
"stonebound" = A double value dictating the stonebounde modifier.
"buildParts" = Can you craft the tool parts in a part builder?
"castingFluid" = Fluid used for making these parts in a smeltery.
"harvestLevel" = Sets the harvest level for the tool.
To use this mod, you need TTcore, you can get it here: http://ci.tterrag.com/job/ttCore/ and Tinker's Construct.
If you would like to show your support, I have a Patreon.
And that is basically it!
Enjoy!

Can someone please send an example of adding metallurgy metal for tools and liquid?
What error are you getting?
Take a look at the template.json, your json file needs to have all of those "tags"("materials","fluids" etc)
Also, where are you putting your json?
Love the mod!!!
how can I change the texture of a liquid?
and how can i make things melt into the new liquid?
and how can I create texture for the new tools?
Is there any documentation for this mod anywhere? It would be very useful.
would it be possible to use this mod to make new tools/add armor?

Sure go ahead
Is there any wiki, guide or tutorial on how to use this mod?
put it in /config/jsonables/jsons
Can I see the json file?
Well your json is incorrect... run it through a json validator
