i can't create the infernal blast furnace. when i click with a wand it does nothing. the wand has 50 of each aspect. there is nothing making my vis cost higher. there is an attached screenshot showing my setup. please help.
Question: Did you check the recipe to see if the stairs were facing outward or inward?

Although that certainly looks cool, I'm pretty sure the stairs need to be facing the other direction, so that there is just 1 block space in the middle of the multipart.

thank you. that was the problem.

1) Boots of the Traveller were 'hacked' in order to make them repairable with leather. This is a fix I included because I felt it necessary. I have talked to Azanor and he agreed that the lack of repairability was an oversight, however, he does not intend to fix it anymore.
However, well.
I have B:"Allow Boot repair" set to true in the config as well, so I have no idea why this wouldn't be working. Maybe it's an issue with recent Forge builds or did this feature suddenly get broken?
Hi there, first of all I want to say - great mod, I really like it and I'm planning on putting it in a modpack I'm working on and hopefully will release through the FTB launcher. In particular I love the abacus, the pump and the aspect library - such simple ideas but no one's ever done them before!
Anyway, I have a few suggestions that I'd like to make and I hope that you'll be receptive to them:
- I think the Metallurgic Perfection researches should be hidden in the Thaumonomicon if the server doesn't have any additional ores installed. That's my current case and I have basically two blank researches (I've removed them with Modtweaker myself).
- Likewise a configuration (or automatic detection) to turn off the Enderlinked bag if the server doesn't have the vanilla enderchest active. I'm using Chickenbone's EnderStorage, so I've had to once again hide that research with modtweaker.
- I really like the blast furnace, ore tripling is pretty insanely over powered however don't you think? Some configuration options here might be nice - like maybe an option to make it require centevis in order to triple ore?
- Also, could you add recipes for breaking down metal items back into ingots through the blast furnace? Probably adding just the vanilla armors/weapons and some basic blocks would be enough, with a configuration option to add more simple recipes. Basically have it work like the TC's smeltery in that regard. I'd do it myself, but it doesn't look like your furnace recipes support a function call on output in modtweaker (plus not everyone is going to have an easy time scripting modtweaker I guess...) and i don't want to give back the full cost of ingots for damaged items...
- I think the rose thorn bushes are an interesting idea but they don't actually seem to work. I've noticed that they only ever spread in one direction (up walls), won't spread down or on overhangs and while you can stack them ontop of each other, they become invisible if you do so. I think it would be nice if they were made to function more like bushes - basically plant them and they grow into a 2 block tall bush that acts like a cactus, but can be adjacent to each other to form walls. If you want to get really fancy, you could use the wand to orientate which direction they will grow, or if they will stop growing/spreading at all (kind of like how you can make redcrystal connections with the wand).
- It would be nice if we could get a range upgrade on the terrestrial reformer somehow. The 16 block radius is actually pretty small.
- Please add a cloak that turns you into a bat and lets you fly Just an idea!
Anyway, like I said - great mod, take the feedback as you will
EDIT: Also, I forgot to add - the primordal claymore can't break cobwebs... or torches. Ahem.Intended? Sort of weird...
1) Hiding research: That's actually more effort than it's worth, believe it or not. xD
2) Enderchest: I absolutely hate that Enderstorage removes the vanilla Enderchest, so I will keep it like this to encourage people to reenable it (pretty sure Enderstorage has a config for that)
3) Nope, I like OreTripling like this. Actually automating it with the creation of native clusters is a little logistical challenge, especially due to essentia requirements, so it stays ^^
4) Due to the way it's coded, this would involve a specific recipe for every metal item. You can do that just as well with Minetweaker scripts. And in the end: This is a Blastfurnace, it's mostly designed for metal improvement, aka Iron->Steel
5) Rose Vines: They only grow upwards intentionally. They were also the first thing I ever did in this entire mod, so they are very shoddy in their code and I've never given them any revision. Might redo them when I have time and motivation for it.
6) The range is the balancing here. If you wanna convert big areas, you'll have to move it. Logistical effort is a very effective balance that can annoy users to no end. And I love it. Remember when you had to move Buildcraft quarries every 20 minutes? Think of that. xD
7) Noooope. Thaumcraft has a way of flight. And while I don't like it ( the whole movement mechanic is weird), I won't replace it with a TC addon. If you want good flight, I'd highly recommend Botania's Flügel Tiara =3
Also, rendering the player as a bat would be a pain in the butt. I'm not iChun, the master of player renders.
8) Nope, not intended. No idea what causes it though, because it just subclasses the normal swords .~.
Sorry if most of your suggestions were struck down, but WG is also pretty much 'done' to me. Content wise, I'm happy with it, bugfixes will still happen were needed. And TC4 isn't being developed anymore either.
I keep getting the following error spammed in my server log for some reason, only happens with witching gadgets installed and seems to be related to taint spores.

This could completely be my imagination, but it seems that when it crops up all of a sudden mobs stop spawning in the immediate area, although that might be due to hitting a spawn limit hard cap with taint spores and the such.
I'll look into it, seems to be something wrong with my coremod...
I have B:"Allow Boot repair" set to true in the config as well, so I have no idea why this wouldn't be working. Maybe it's an issue with recent Forge builds or did this feature suddenly get broken?
Version 1.1.6
I rewrote the entire packet system, hopefully preventing any further memory leaks and I adjusted the coremod. Boots should be repairable again, Primordial Armor - Ordo should now reduces Warp effects again and the Ring of the Covetous coin should actually work.
Amazing work Sunrize! This got added in my personal Thaumcraft Modpack, I just wish the Terraformer was faster, otherwise, everything is awesome!
I wish it would only draw essentia when it needs it, like pretty much every other TC device. I checked one out the other day and evidently my golem had somehow managed to feed it 500 points of herba.
and the Ring of the Covetous coin should actually work.
Are you sure you got that working? I did a few tests on the previous version and it looked like the ring was working back then (I don't know the specifics of Fortune V or VII, but mining a few stacks of gems certainly got me a lot more drops than the usual), but after updating it looks like it doesn't work anymore. Or at least the same test I did on the past version didn't give me the result I was expecting, the amount of drops seemed to be around the 2.4x Fortune III gives you instead of anything higher.
Well, I used a compiled version of the mod with debug outprints, which definitely showed that the levels where increased, and as far as I'm concerned those values should have been returned as well. I'll take another look at it, but I fear that it might be more of a restriction of the broken block rather than the ring not working
Edit: Yeah, confirmed this, the ring seems to apply in code.
Well, here's some tests I did because I was feeling something is off. I used a Primal Crusher with Fortune III to break 5 stacks of each of these ores.
On Witching Gadgets v1.1.6:
Coal, one ring: 701
Coal, two rings: 691
Coal, no ring: 715
Redstone, one ring: 1967
Redstone, two rings: 1917
Redstone, no rings: 1927
Lapis, one ring: 4003
Lapis, two rings: 3930
Lapis, no rings: 4399
Lapis, no rings, no Fortune: 1890
Lapis, one ring, no Fortune: 1926
You can't take any value as being exact since it's all RNG, but it's easy to see that the results hover around a certain average (which implies the rings aren't working at all). How bizarre.
Out of curiosity, I also decided to check how this test did in the previous version.
On Witching Gadgets 1.1.5:
Coal, one ring: 1048
Coal, two rings: 1288
Coal, no ring: 715
Redstone, one ring: 2274
Redstone, two rings: 2568
Redstone, no rings: 1904
Didn't bother testing Lapis because there would be too many inventory problems and this already proves the ring was working back then anyway.

No. No. No. and No.
I wish people would for once in their life read the first post of the thread.
I've been getting reports of this over and over because apparently no one can read.
This bug is fixable by disabling nugget transmutation in the WG config. And it's not MFR related either. This is a vanilla Thaumcraft bug, that you can just as easily reproduce by adding recipes for nugget duplication via MineTweaker.
Here is a more detailed explanation: https://github.com/Azanor/thaumcraft/issues/1663#issuecomment-96818294
Question: Did you check the recipe to see if the stairs were facing outward or inward?
Edit: Found the real problem.
Although that certainly looks cool, I'm pretty sure the stairs need to be facing the other direction, so that there is just 1 block space in the middle of the multipart.
thank you. that was the problem.
Does this need to be printed every time someone kills something with primordial sword?
