Now that I have a few mods, I thought I'd make a little common space to put some info about them. =) To see a full description of each mod (with screenshots and such), go to the links provided.
If you want to write a post about a specific mod, and it has it's own thread, I'd suggest posting it there, instead of here.
This mod makes sounds a bit more interesting. It applies a reverb effect when you're in a cave, and "occludes" sounds behind walls and when you are inside of a liquid.
This mod lets you change what music plays in different situations. For instance based on biome, on dimension (yes, custom ones), or on light level. It also lets you play music when certain events happen. For instance when you get an achievement, when you die, and when you fight a boss.
- modify/add/remove items from vanilla and modded chest loot types
- modify/add/remove drops for mobs
- modify/add/remove drops for blocks
- add/remove recipes, furnace recipes, and furnace fuels
- add/remove entries in the ore dictionary
- add some simple items and blocks, including tools, records, fences, doors, and lots more.
- add potion effects to items when worn, held, hitting an entity, etc.
- and a few other things too.
This was my first mod. It lets you create portals using coloured blocks and a special colourful water that let you travel between any two places (yes, even between dimensions).
Lets you place gunpowder much like redstone dust. It ignites with flint and steel (or fire arrows) and lets you create a non-redstone fuse trail for TNT.
Fixes music tracks overlapping. In 1.7.2 it fixes the background music overlapping, and in all versions it fixes the background music not stopping when records play.
See the download in the above link.
Light Control:
No link currently, but there is a download in the spoiler.
Lets you change how much light blocks give off. And yes, it is allowed in modpacks.
This addon to the Lucky Blocks mod adds a whole ton of crazy new things, some of them using Loot++ to make them even more awesome and crazy. Break that spiral lucky block and get some nice gear! Or just try to survive!
Adds randomly generated artifacts with randomly generated effects found in randomly generated structures. Yes, lots of random generation. Oh yeah, and there are deadly traps too, found in those structures and around the world.
Hi, I'm currently working with the 1.7.10 version of Loot++, and I am interested in the custom weapons/the ability to change the size/orientation of weapons added. I can see clearly how it is done in the 1.8 version utilizing addons, yet there seems to be no documentation on using a .json to dictate the size/orientation of an item in the 1.7.10 version. Is this possible? And if so, could you throw me a bone?

Ah, actually, that's just a vanilla 1.8 thing that you can do with resource packs (you can even change the size/rotation/ect. of the vanilla weapons using a resource pack). So unfortunately it's not possible in 1.7.10.
You are a very talented mod creator and one that should get more recognition. Your loot++ mod alone makes modpack creating a joy and I'm surprised it me this long to find it. Thank You... I wall pass as many as I can in your direction.
Are you planning on updating Loot++? I would love to (and kinda need to) use it for a map creation thing. Also, is there a way to make it to where you can set the chest to respawn at intervals?

Yeah, I'm working on the update right now. It won't be called Loot++ anymore though, since it's a total rewrite. And it will only be 1.12 and up.
You can make chests respawn in vanilla with the loot tables and command blocks. The easiest way would be to set up a command block on a timer (if you need it to run all the time, you could put it in the spawn chunk), that runs a /setblock command, setting a new chest there with the loot table you need. If you want an example, I did something similar to that in a demo for a custom map I'm working on. All the 'pots' (hoppers) in the game respawn every certain interval. The demo is in 1.11.2, but the same concept should work in 1.12.

Thank you! Do you have an ETA for it btw? While I don't need it for several weeks most likely, it would be helpful to have it before I have the terrain so I can learn! Thanks in advance!

No solid ETA right now. It could take a while; several weeks at the minimum. Sadly I have little time to work on it (just a few minutes a day), so it's hard to gauge how much longer it will take.

Ok thank you! I won't be able to start my map for about that long anyway lol
Hey I have a question about the quality tools mod for 1.12.2. Are there any admin commands that allow you to change the quality of the tool and if so could you provide those and if applicable the ids for those? (I'm assuming if there is a command for it, that it would require the ids of the various qualities if that's how they work) many thanks 😊
I should point out I did scour the depths of the Web for a good hour or two but failed to find anything, assuming they exist 😂
