Found some bugs like crates still not working. and dirt is now considered as a block that can be compiled which should not be the but the mod is lagless as hell(with small build) heck it even raised my fps however ill test it out with some big builds all the way to the limit.
Good to hear, not surprised crates aren't working still, they didn't really get any code changed. I'll look into getting that working for the next alpha build/1.8
Since this seems to be the new home for Archimedes ships, does anyone have any suggestions for a good camera mod to use with it? I'm specifically after the ability to zoom out the 3rd person view so you can get a better view of what's going on around the ship instead of just having a screen full of
ship.
Yes, that would be nice. Large vessels are pretty unwieldy and hard to judge the boundaries of.
Just asking what does the moving world does or adds for the mod?
It makes it substantially easier for me to develop with, it also makes it possible for other modders to interact with ships a bit more easily. It's a requirement just like CoFHCore and mods of that nature.
Ok but whenever your adding stuff in you think you can add in something new called an anchor which anchors your ship while in entity form you know so that it keeps it from floating away.
I want to build a flying DeLorean with this mod, but it will look quite silly with a bunch of balloon blocks holding it up ... are there any plans to add some kind of lift engine that you can use instead of balloons, but uses fuel? It would be amazing if it used RF from Thermal Expansion, so I could actually have it run on a Flux Capacitor. XP
In the configs, you can change the percentage of balloons required. I'm sure if you set it to 0 you shouldn't need any.
http://techne.zeux.me/ not sure if it's been ported to use .json for 1.8 though. I haven't looked at 1.8 models though so they might not be required.
Alright, I've built it, and did a halfassed texture setup just so you can see what parts are what. Basically outlined all boxes in the textures. At any rate...NOW what do I have to do to upload it?
How exactly is it that you think that you can change the License and redistribution rights to this mod. Do you have the permission of the author Ckathode to do this? The Mod was originally under the MIT license and you have changed it to Creative commons and you are preventing redistribution without permission when you do not own the copyright. Frankly it is disrespectful to the author of the work and harmful to the community what possible gain do you have in changing the license and forcing people to ask permission to you it in a pack?

https://tldrlegal.com/license/mit-license 'can sublicense' I licensed it like this to prevent people uploading it to sites that are packed full of ads. I'm not overly strict with this, all I'm really doing this for is to prevent people from uploading the mod on sites like 4minecraft. I ask that you get permission to host the mod elsewhere, that's not a huge requirement is it? You're more than welcome to message me if you need it in a pack and I will generally say yes unless you're being a jerk.
EDIT: The mod has a different id, different name, and different features, I don't take any responsibility from the base code and can never guarantee compatibility with the old mod. A large amount of work was put into separation of the code, and fixing of bugs. It's a different mod, so it has a different license.
1.8 development is now starting, consider the 1.7.10 beta build stable, if there are major bugs found while there is no stable 1.8 build I will patch them, but once there's a 1.8 build out 1.7.10 will no longer be supported.

As I point out in the other thread the only thing different about yours that I found was the new item and the numbers behind the names. Now as to changing the license. You can't by the original license. You may sublicense as you point out but that would assume you have been in contact with the original author and have his permission to do so. From what you've said it seems you took it upon yourself to continue the mod because it hasn't been updated in a while and have not actually been in contact with the author. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
This is not allowed by the original license as distribution is NOT restricted: Contact for permission for use in modpacks, this mod is to only be distributed and hosted by the author. If you host this mod elsewhere you MUST have explicit permission from the author to host.

It's still a different mod, the extent of that doesn't change the fact that it sets out to achieve different goals, you can look at the code side by side on the github. The next feature I plan on REWRITING FROM SCRATCH is the metarotation system. Different mod, different goals, different code, my hobby, my time. If you're interested in contacting me regarding licensing issues you can do so via minecraftforum's messaging, but using the thread to shout accusations is just rude.

@darkevilmac: Much respect for you, dude. I hope the 1.8 port goes well and will be happy to help you out with bug testing etc. Your improvements to the 1.7.10 version is epic and running a lot better now
1.8 dev is going smoother than expected, I can say that much. I've yet to reach the dreaded model code though, but from my understanding I should be able to force minecraft to draw models how I want.

I want to know will this be addded? And if so when.
I would like to see the mod continue but that doesn't change facts.
@mdf25 That is the license that I posted but thank you for linking it.
The door was opened for discussion when he chose to post the comment from the mod page here. When I saw the response I thought I would expand upon the original comment. I didn't think I'd need to include the definition but here it is.
Sub license:
a license or contract granted to a third party by a licensee for specified rights or uses of a product, brand name, logo, etc.
As worded it grants the ability to, but does not itself grant a sub license.
One thing that both the original commenter and myself have both pointed out is the main portion that is at issue.
The above copyright notice and this permission notice shall be included in all copies or substantial portions of the Software.
By his own admission the base code is still the original. So by definition a 'substantial portion' of the mod. Yet when you look at his license there is just the Creative Commons one and no portion of the original which this line from it makes required.
Yes, I have better things to do with my time. If he wants to leave himself open to having it taken down should the original author return and decide it should be that's up to him.

New versions have been bumped to beta due to lack of major error reports. Expect those to be up within the hour.

Currently curious to know if this works on 1.8 yet... or if it will work with a server.
No 1.8 yet, 1.7.10 with a server is fine. Please use the beta build if you've not used the mod before we need bug reports if they're found.
