Too bad. An other abandoned Airship Mod for all the Modpacker. Why?
on 1.10.x / 1.11.x there is no BuildCraft nor Thermal Dynamics (the pipes), killerfeatures for modpacker (and a bunch of other needed mods). 1.7.10 is ignored by the Davinchis Vessels Modder, 1.7.10, the most played modpacked server version!
the issue setting own "max blocks values" is still not fixed. Neither with the config, nor with recompiling the changed java files.
-> back in 1.6.4 with the old archimeds mod, i was able to fly a ship with roundabout 25.000 to 35.000 Blocks. On the Server it was called "the moving city", "Titan-City" or likable "The shadowmaker" . THIS mod cant assamble about 8000 Blocks -.-
Keep going to serve the 12 yo, that uses always the newest versions. Leave the people, that hosting the servers with great modpaks behind.

Will this "max_block" issue ever be fixed for the 1.7.10?
Do not give my last sentence too much attention, which was emotionally charged (the "12yo" one). You work is great, but i have the fears, that 1.7.10 is Is no longer considered?

Hello, i downloaded this mod, i made a air ballon and made a airship. i then went into the ship and flew around, then i exited then my game crashed and it is doing that now, any advice on how to fix?
Ugh I want this mod so bad! I remember playing Archimedes ship mod back in the day and similar mods even further back. I am wondering if you can make this 1.11.2 compatible just for me? Lol jking. Seriously though, any chance this mod is going to get a 1.11.2 download along with moving world?
Long time fan, I think I posted once before. there was a much older ship building mod somewhere in the community, for v1.3.xx or something, It had ship collision and buildability available on it while the ship was active and or moving, perhaps finding it could help further your development.

Old mod, but I enjoyed it until the mod author stopped working on it, maybe you can check on it to give you ideas to better your mod?

This guy seems to have something close as far as collisons go, though unsure if they are still working on the mod.
Edit3: Valkyrien Warfare mod is at v1.10.2 compatibility. and appears it may still be in progress. perhaps compare notes with the mod maker to help develop a better possibly merged mod with them? it appears there are some bugs with how it works, but I'm certain features from your mod or features from his/hers could benefit the improvement and development of one or both of your works.
Is there any chance of this mod being available for 1.11.2?
I haven't seen a reply to this yet and I don't want to antagonize OP or spam the thread with what may be silly question. has the developer mentioned anything about skipping out on 1.11.2 versions?

I would guess the limit has something to do with how much CPU and ram the mod uses to compile and configure the ships, and in older versions minecraft is just less capable of holding up for such a process without crashing due to limits that may have been changed or removed since the previous versions.

I avoid backporting it's much more difficult to memorize the practices of one version than multiple, the only major backport I ever did was putting submarines onto 1.7.10.

Buildcraft is in 1.12, that's the version I currently target. As I said as far as backporting goes, 1.7 is 5 years old. I will not be developing for such an old version.
I want to make this 100% clear, I do not support 1.7, and do not recommend using it.
My issue is why can we not move grass or dirt blocks? am i missing something? Every time i place the helm on grass it says 1 block, ive adjusted the size of the ship accordingly and when i put baloon blocks down to the stone it just moved the stone out from under the grass. does this mean we cant move water also? because id like to have a real flying island with farmland, a lake, and a house on it... but without grass and dirt it doesnt operate/look right.

Adjust the blacklist/whitelist for grass and dirt, fluids can not be put on a ship as it would cause issues with flowing water during assembly/disassembly.

I downloaded everything according to procedure and attempted several solutions. What do you think is causing it and how can I fix it? I was really looking forward to using this...
Anybody else have the issue where once your ship is disassembled it floods with water? If so, how do I fix it? Here are some screenshots to show what I'm talking about

This mod is integral to my mod pack for the sheer awesomeness of being able to sail. Could you please make it available for 1.11.2?

Unfortunately, there seems to be no working sailing and flying custom ship mod available for 1.11!! =c
