I'm curious as to what you'll be streaming and when? I'd like to see your progress on Archimedes Ships and your ideas for it. If your intention was to stream everyday, I think though you should consider only streaming once or twice a week. It'd be challenging to have have enough content everyday to keep people entertained. Do you have any other mods you're developing? That'd be interesting to hear about as well.
By the way, I like the site! It's fairly simple but I understand you just started it.

Heh, I probably should have clarified. Yes, if I'm to stream it would most likely be a semi regular thing on weekends for an hour or so.
I would be primarily streaming development of mods, as well as some of my other projects with some games here and there just so I don't get bored of streaming. It's more a way to quickly get in contact and have a back in forth with the userbase
Found the problem, MovingWorld has an incompatibility with ForgeEssentials due to both using the Mixins subsystem. You can expect a fix in the near future.

Hi everyone, it turns out I missed that there is an update to the Mixins subsystem, I'm not 100% sure if this will fix the incompatibility issues but I'll be updating the version regardless so you can expect an update to MovingWorld in the next little while.
1.7.10 development is still going fairly smoothly this is just a small update to 1.8
Hi everyone, expect that 1.8 build in the next hour or so!
On another note, I've closed the poll for stream times. It seems for those interested the most common time was 4:30 PM PST as well as > 7:30 PM PST. I'm planning on streaming tomorrow at around 9PM PST for a little while just to test things out. The stream will be on hitbox so I don't have to deal with delays, you can see the stream when it's live here: http://www.hitbox.tv/darkevilmac I recommend following so you get a notification when the stream starts

Would having a ship 150,000 blocks in size cause any performance issues/bugs? A friend of mine wants me to bump up the max block limit on a server we use and I'm pretty sure that'll cause some issues. That was his idea of a "decent-sized ship", while I thought something like 8000 would be pushing it. If so, what is the max size I should do? I have little experience in the mod so I don't have much of an idea on what's reasonable in terms of size. 150,000 sounds outrageous for sure, I just want to make sure.
Some exciting news for 1.7.10 users, which is pretty much everyone! I've managed to backport submersibles to 1.7.10, feel free to take a quick look at the footage https://imgrush.com/KtmY6kW2_SoY
I'm going to treat this as a legit question even though it seems ridiculous. Yes, 150,000 blocks is absolutely outrageous. If this is a server YOU are running, you should tell your friend(s) to let you make the decisions and be happy with them. Because in the end, YOU are going to be the one they blame if something goes horribly wrong and they lose their items/world.
To give you some perspective, there are around 65,000 blocks per minecraft CHUNK so your friend is asking for a ship about two and a half CHUNKs long. Even if you were to make a ship that big, what would be the point? You couldn't reasonably control something like that... If you want to do 8,000 blocks, try it and see if it works. Personally, I cut the default in half to 1024. That gives me a comfortably sized ship that I can see out of and control easily.
@darkevilmac
Looking at the configs, I noticed that the whitelist/blacklist and overwrite list options were gone in the 1.7.10 version. Are those going to be added back in?
I noticed there are two "B:connect_diagonal_blocks=false" options (one has _1 on the end of it though), what does the second one do?
Also, any chance we could get that sweet helm texture for the 1.7.10 backport? I really like what you did with it in 1.8!

Read the first post, MovingWorld has a config too.
The new helm Model will not be backported, it relies on the new model system heavily.
Ah, my bad, and I gotcha on backporting the modeling.
I tried searching around some more and couldn't find anything on the difference between:
# Blocks connected diagonally on one axis will also be added to the ship if this value is set to 'true'.
B:connect_diagonal_blocks=false
# Blocks connected diagonally on one axis will also be added to the ship if this value is set to 'true'.
B:connect_diagonal_blocks_1=false
Is the second one a placekeeper to tie in with the movingworld config?
Also, in case it hasn't been noted before, the blocks/items with "ArchimedesShips" need to be updated to "ArchimedesShipsPlus" in both configs. This is for the 1.7.10 version so maybe you've done this already for 1.8 version as 1.7.10 is depreciated. Anyways, FYI.

Just a config option that wasn't removed on my part, the only one that matters is in MovingWorld and from what I remember just the first ignore the one with the number 1 on the end.

Yeah it is a ridiculous question, I'm aware, but other then how absurd 150,000 sounds, I didn't have a real argument against it, save possible lag. He pretty much wanted to use it to make a flying citadel, and not wanting to seem like the bad guy for no good reason, I wanted to check what other people would say. So thanks for replying and giving me a reason to hold me resolve on the size.

In the name of peace, moderation, and decency- WIPE THEM ALL OUT!
(In regard to a mod that gives realistic animal genetics):
Would you really rather have bees that make diamonds and oil with magical genetic blocks?
... did I really ask that?
"Ships" vs "Archimedes" -- what are the pros and cons of each?
Well in the simplest terms, AS+ has flying ships, submersible ships, and regular boats. It also has greater mod compatibility in the sense it won't crash the game, you can also rotate your ship and disassemble, that's not possible with Ships.
Ships will give you proper block by block collision, as well as functioning blocks on the ship (mostly).

I'm sorry for being rude but I get annoyed fast when a mod doesn't want to work when it should.
Minecraft version: 1.8

Just a few thoughts.
Would it be possible to add something that activate blocks like dispensers on the ship? Of course you can make your own version of it.
