Hey folks, sorry about being incommunicado so long - real life has a way of popping up at the worst times. I should have the first "real" pocket plane teasers - multiple aspects, structures, transport portals, and such - up sometime next week.

Awesome! Thanks for such a wonderful mod, we understand how life can be sometimes.
(The following Idea has been written in narrative form, to make it more interesting.)
While staring at my Soul Beacon with a stable Planar Vortex in the background, I wondered what would happen if I tossed a Soul Beacon into the rift.
I was astonished.
The supercharged Soul Beacon now had a bit of a subtle, node-like glow... but that was only the start. The Eyes of Ender infused into the Beacon during crafting seemed to absorb an astonishing amount of vis from the Void, and were now purple. The Primordial Pearl didn't seem changed, but what really surprised me was that the Void Metal was fully intact and hadn't collapsed into Putty. I decided to run a few reincarnations with this supercharged Soul Beacon to see what had been changed functionally.
Fascinatingly, the Beacon seemed able to be tethered to multiple human souls simultaneously. But what came of this was absolutely mind-blowing.
It could put TWO SOULS into ONE BODY. Provided both humans died at roughly the same time, the Beacon would pull both souls into the revitalized Corpse Effigy placed into the Vat below. Now, before you go off wondering what that would be like, let me tell you firsthand, as a colleague of mine and myself performed this "Soul Merge" and entered the same body together. Since I was the first to tether myself to the supercharged Beacon, I was initially in control, though I could still hear my colleague in my mind with me. A second voice in your head may not seem like a very good thing, but he wasn't merely a voice. By relinquishing control of the body, my colleague could take control and move around himself while I sat on the sidelines and watched. We soon grew used to switching control of the body, and since I was the superior fighter of the two, I often took control in combat-based situations. My colleague was quite a professional builder, and he would often assist me in creating structures to house new magical devices.
One day, our shared body was ambushed by Eldritch Guardians summoned by our combined warp, and my colleague was too panicked to remember to let me control our body. So I took control by force, drawing my blade and slaying the Eldritch in moments. Afterward, I was quite weakened, and had no choice but to give control back to my colleague. He admitted that the forced takeover felt disturbing to him, though he still thanked me for saving our collective skin. But there was one critical thing we had forgotten to do: give our combined body Self-Infusions! In order to reincarnate into individual bodies, we merely had to bind our body to two normal soul beacons. Upon death, we both reincarnated into our own, private bodies, alone once more. From there, we revived a Corpse Effigy and gave it Self-Infusions before performing the Soul Merge with the supercharged Soul Beacon.
It all went as planned. We both ended up in the body, and the Self-Infusions were functional. In addition, my colleague and I discovered that by binding our shared body to the supercharged Soul Beacon, we could both reincarnate into the single body directly from our previous shared body.
To this day, he's still in my head, if only in spirit.
Question about general creature infusions: When it says that they can only benefit from these infusions once, does that mean that you can't give a creature both quicksilver limbs and thaumium claws, or that you can't give it two of the same kind of general infusion?

same kind, two quicksilvers will do nothing. you can give a creature all generals infusions but only one creature specific infusion. so no lunar hell wolves.

It's good to hear from you again! It's completely understandable, and I look forward to the teasers. Transport portals, hmm- seems we may have more methods than just keystones (and the rifts themselves) to make it into a Pocket. . perhaps also between them? Either way, keep up the good work-- we're cheering you along, whatever roadbumps you hit.
Is there anyway to create a stable rift without a hungry node? Or a way to create a hungry node? I'd really like to try some of the things that require a rift.

A hungry node is not required for making a planar vortex.

Leadership isn't about shooting people and stabbing things, its about telling other people to shoot people and stab things.

Indeed, any node can be used to create a Vortex. All you need is to transduce a node, set up the 6 Vortex Attenuators beforehand so they would hit the bare node, and attach and activate four Transduction Amplifiers.

OK thanks, just tested it in a Creative World, apparently i misread some text in the Thaumonomicon.
Ok, wherever mentioned the trick of using only levers to activate the transdiction amplifiers/node transducer when making a stable Vortex, is a dang genius. I can instantly stabilize Vortices now.

Yes, sort of! I would imagine the body would stay the default Steve skin as there would be no good way to combine two player's skins together, and I can only imagine how difficult a combined username would be... so I guess they'd just look like a Steve mob running around ingame.

The best way would probably be to have a custom skin for this entity, that looks like the Steve skin, but merged with...something else... The name could just be ???, or, if possible, switch usernames depending on who is in control. I have no idea how much of this is even possible but it sounds awesome.

The question no one has answered is why would any players would use this. Players are unlikely to use the beacon for anything but a few minutes of novelty.
What Biome ID is the pocket plane? I am having a biome ID conflict with Biomes O' plenty, and the pocket plane biome is appearing in the overworld, but I can't figure out what ID is conflicting.
The biome ID for the Pocket Dimension is 69, but there is no config file for Thaumic Horizons currently. You will have to figure out what biome it is conflicting with and change it elsewhere. I believe previously people have said that it conflicts with the Biomes O Plenty Maple Forest?

Just a question I was meaning to ask but.
Do you plan to convert your mod to Thaumcraft 5 once it comes out?
