Hi mowzie.. Idk if you remember me but I've been gone for a long time and am interested in what's next.... Or if your even at the stage of a new mob yet.. But anyways great mod 😄
Hm, maybe. I previously thought about a ghostly horse rider that would appear in plains at night only when the player is riding on a horse. The rider would pursue the player alongside his or her horse, making for a unique fight. This could merge well with your idea.
Just a little thought I had, if you do add entities/items based on peoples recommendation of these forums, could you perhaps add "special" versions of them? Each with the players name that helped with idea of the entity/item. If not also make the special versions based off the players "Steve" character or something like that?
I got A mob idea it consists of four slightly different mobs that work together
the group would consist of multiple of smaller mobs and one or two larger mobs, all have their own mob spawners but they gradaully move towards each other in the wild.
the four different types are:
noisemakermoonwalker
This small insect only has 10 health, is peacfull, and looks like a cross between a grasshopper and a stick bug.
it has a dark blue back and underbelly with black legs and head. It creates a sound that sounds alot like a flute and will play random beats
when killed it drops lapis lazuli
all mobs avoid it
Noisemaker sunbug
This small insect has only 10 health, is peacefull, and looks like a cross between a scarab beatle and a grasshopper with spiky ridges over its legs.
it has a gold back and legs with white thighs and underbelly. It creates a sound alot like a bass and will play random beats
When killed it drops gold
All mobs avoid it
Noisemaker brownback
This small insect has only 10 health, is peacefull, and looks like a beatle.
It has a brown back with every other body part being green. It creates a sound alot like a drum and will play random beats
it will usaully hide in grass
when killed it drops wood, sticks, and sometimes gravel
only aggressive mobs avoid it
Noisemaker Gardian
This massive bug, about 2 blocks tall and 3 blocks long, is the reason most mobs avoid the noisemakers, it looks like a massive beatle with orange eyes,
It is mostly grey with a stone texture that makes it look like a massive rock when it sleeps. It is aggressive when awake attacking everything until it comes in contact with a noismaker that sings (the above three mobs) inwhich it finally falls asleep when the bug starts singing, the gardian's eyes a rather large and apear as long orange lines when closed. It attacks by lunging and biting sometimes flying 2 blocks off the ground to do a smash attack, it deals 5 damage with each hit were the lunge does 6 and the smash attack does 5 to multipletargets and does knockback damage. It attacks rapidly without stopping and is rather fast.
when killed it drops stone, its pincer inwhich can be either be used to make a weapon or to attach to your helmet for a fancy accessory, stone, and sometimes bones.
the noismakers that sing will stop their songs when they come in contact with one another and start a proper song sometimes changing the beat as the bugs hop around.
The gardian has a large attack radius and will sometimes move towards the singing noisemakers from across the map.
Speaking of music is it possible that you could add drums that The barakoa will play when not fighting, like back at the village. Perphaps you could craft a drumset and leave it in a village or forest and random mobs would play it, like a skeleton, a zombie would bash its head on it, you could hear spiders walking on it, villagers playing it profeshionally...
each mob with their own style of song, some not even a song, just them jumping on it till it breaks, like maybe the skeletons could play like a beat to which the skeletons start to march to
You are walking in a mega taiga, minding your own business, when suddenly some roar bellows down the path, No. I can't be, IT'S....
THE MOB I CAN'T COME UP WITH A NAME WITH!
So yeah, I can't come up with a name for this mob, but it looks like a giant wolf like creature, kinda like beast ganondorf but, with a huge tail kinda shaped like a flail, and without the mane, and covered in ash colored fur.
This titan of a mob has health that reaches at about the 150 mark. it has claws that could cut stone, and the previously mentioned tail that can smash an entire hoard of zombies.
Just one teeny problem.
It has no eyes.
So it has to rely on sound to """See""", whenever it hears something, it will blindly charge at it with its claws slashing at it, this can be exploited.
But not all sounds are annoying to this unnamed thingamajig, sounds like flowing water and other things calm it, making attack less and slowly make it more relaxed until it decides to catch a few Z's.
But loud sounds like TNT and doors (And villager sounds) will make it more angry and stuff. Only certain attacks happen on higher levels of peeved, Like the tail whip.
If loud sounds are coming from all sides, it will throw a hissy fit and claw everywhere while making loud noises that will scare away mobs.
You could even make taming it when its calm a feature but it will most likely be OP.

Yes, I remember! Right now, I am finishing the Barakoa. Then, I will update to 1.8 and probably 1.9. Then, I'll develop the frostmaw mob.

Each with the players name that helped with idea of the entity/item. If not also make the special versions based off the players "Steve" character or something like that?
Like an easter egg kind of thing? I could, but I'd much rather spend time developing new mobs and content.

I could add that, but I really don't see much point. That's quite a length to go to for a feature that so little affects gameplay.

Interesting thinking. I like it. It's more than just a generic beast mob. I'll keep it in mind.
Edit: Just a clarification, the beast mob won't always blindly charge at a noise, it measures how loud the sound is, like the speaker Icon in windows when you click on it. (If any sounds are playing while its open it shows how loud it is).
It also has an alert meter, depending on how high the number is, it will attack or ignore sounds. It starts at 100, if calmed it will slowly go down to 0.
The ONLY way I see the taming thing going is that when somehow tamed it will be under your full control, but if the meter goes up you will steadily lose control. If it goes up to 100 it will fling you off and will go into a clawing frenzy, while its meter rapidly decreases.
If you are worried that this mob will eat all the animals then make it so killing things makes it meter go down.
Oh and it is related to villagers Not really that was a joke
I made a mistake! The fix will be for the 1.7.10 version.
Bob, was this by chance the crash that I was referring to a few days ago that you said would not be fixed in 1.7.10? Or perhaps I should ask the OP of the comment..
You also wrote that you would like to add something along the lines of Ents.
It sounds a bit like you don't have a concept yet, or not a really fleshed out one.
Not knowing what you have, Ill just add a few thoughts. You could use it in parts or as a whole or not at all. (meaning you could just pick the things you like out if my post and work it into your concept and ignore the parts you dont like.)
Name of the Mob: "Living [Insert name of a Tree here]" or "Walking [Insert name of a Tree here]" or "Angry [Insert name of a Tree here]"
Choose the one you like best, if you want.
Where it lives: Everywhere where trees are. More common in forests.
Ho it looks and behaves: Normally it blends in seemlesly in its environment looking exactly like a tree like any other in the area, giving a little Thrill to the normal wood gathering. You dont know if its a real tree or not. Not even with the trees you placed the saplings yourself. When someone or something hits it trying to chop down the "tree", it would attack in an act of self defence.
It could also attack if actual trees nearby are chopped down.
TNT or creeper explosions would cause them to wake up in a larger radius.
If a skeleton or anything else would hit the tree trying to hit the player who seeks cover behind it, it would attack the mob of course, unknowingly protecting the player.
As soon as their attacker is defeted or if they cannot find it in a certain amount of time, theyll go to sleep and look like trees again.
While awake, they would walk slowly on root-like legs, match the normal size of the respective tree, attack with long arms with wooden claws, have about 3 or 4 bloks of range and have a lot of health and an angry looking face, give a noise of breaking or bending old wood and klittering leaves when moveing, deal a lot a lot of damage while also hitting slowly, take more damage from axes and fire than anything else in vanilla, but be more resistent to swords and arrows and drop a lot of logs, saplings and sticks of the respective tree upon death, (more than you could get from one of the respective tree) and maybe one Item of special Value. Of course their textures would match the respective tree. So therell be as many types of them as there are diffrent trees.
Like the soul of the tree or something. If its a new Item, you could right click it on a tree. If its a normal tree, it turns into a wakeable tree, if its a wakeable tree already, a golden apple (enchanted or not up to you or random) appears in your Inventory. In both cases, the Item gets removed and you get a text message saying "Thank you for returning our brother"
Killing them, chopping down trees and killing animals would decrease their acceptance towards you. Planting trees, giving back teir souls and breeding Animals increases it.
A high acceptance can result in actively protecting you knowingly from Mobs like zombies, but not from Nature like angry wolves or the Foliage.
Optionally, they could protect farm animals from non natural enemies. If the acceptance is high enough, theyll not attack the player chopping down trees or killing animals. Then, wakeable trees would just behave like normal trees and you wouldnt notice a diffrence eccept the soul dropping as well.
Alternatively, you could sell the soul for a high amount of emeralds in almost every village.
Why all this?
Because I would like them to be part of and protect Nature. And I would like it if they protected the player as well, if they know he is on their side, and protect nature from him as well, if he destroys it.
Only takeing what you absoluteley need and giveing back as much as you can would result in the trees likeing you and protectig you from Monsters.
Chopping down every tree you see, mass murdering animals and not caring about saplings and not wasteing a thought about giveing back anything would lead to having to deal with a lot of very powerful creatures trying to kill you.

These are good ideas, but the whole nature-protection mechanic has been done before in other mods. What I had in mind was an item that players with strong affinities to forest magic could obtain that would turn trees into large ent minions.
Bob, not that I'm in any sort of manner criticizing your selection and discretion to what sort of mobs you create and implement, but I do wonder a little why you have no interest in something that has been created already. Someone said above about the ents, for example. I know of roughly 5, so yeah it would seem that choosing such a creature would seem redundant, however many of those have simple animations and very little unique aspects to them. So it is almost a shame we do not have such a very popular form of fantasy creature in minecraft that does it justice. Certainly, you could implement interesting features and unique aspects to these, as you have already proven that with the foliath and barakoa/SunKing. Now, those don't really exist anywhere else in minecraft modding, but if a version of them did exist that was in basic minecraft mob animation, texture and AI, it would certainly have been a shame to pass on them. I understand you probably still have an interest and joy for implementing innovative ideas and lacking takes on mobs, and those should certainly be the current and major focus, I just wish that at some point if things settled down for you and became more manageable in terms of the time you could commit and accomplished a lot of what you're currently trying to do, that you would entertain such things. But I respect your decision whichever the case, as I cannot complain with what you have and plan to provide.
By the way, awesome continued effort on betweenlands. I still take advantage of the mod for what it offers in its individual features, stripping and picking what fits my personaly created adventure maps and rpg-style games.

Patch is out! No more LLibrary crash! See the changelog in the OP.
@syndicate25 I'm really sorry, but your crash can only be fixed once I update to 1.8. Stay tuned.
Is there a reason you're updating to 1.8 instead of just going to 1.9? Seems to me that 1.8 is a dead end for modding since 1.9 has opened up to the modding scene.
I am really exited for the stalkers, I wonder what they would look like.
Hi mowzie.. Idk if you remember me but I've been gone for a long time and am interested in what's next.... Or if your even at the stage of a new mob yet.. But anyways great mod 😄
Just a little thought I had, if you do add entities/items based on peoples recommendation of these forums, could you perhaps add "special" versions of them? Each with the players name that helped with idea of the entity/item. If not also make the special versions based off the players "Steve" character or something like that?
What's this? Mods everywhere!
I got A mob idea it consists of four slightly different mobs that work together
the group would consist of multiple of smaller mobs and one or two larger mobs, all have their own mob spawners but they gradaully move towards each other in the wild.
the four different types are:
noisemaker moonwalker
You could even make taming it when its calm a feature but it will most likely be OP.

that'd be pretty cool, so like this then?
go to 2:19 to see what I mean
Kill that thing with fire!
I made a mistake! The fix will be for the 1.7.10 version.
I haven't worked it out enough to share, really. No, it will not be.
I have altered the plans for them dramatically. They'll be a rival tribe to the Barakoa that lives in the jungle canopy.
Sure, at some point. I'm not sure what to do to make it different from the Wroughtnaut though.
Yes, I remember! Right now, I am finishing the Barakoa. Then, I will update to 1.8 and probably 1.9. Then, I'll develop the frostmaw mob.
Like an easter egg kind of thing? I could, but I'd much rather spend time developing new mobs and content.
It's a neat idea, but I don't think it will make it later.
I could add that, but I really don't see much point. That's quite a length to go to for a feature that so little affects gameplay.
Interesting thinking. I like it. It's more than just a generic beast mob. I'll keep it in mind.
Yeah but with less horrible CGI

They demand respect for Mother Earth.
What do you think?

*Cough cough* I am planning to add a mob like this in my dimension mod...... only if I had more coders......
I am looking for a coder to help me create a mod!
Busco a un codificador para ayudarme a crear un mod!
potato.
I'll have that fixed too, if I can.
So, thank you for that, again.
Feel free to use my suggestion in your Mod, since Mowzie turned it down.
If you post a Link or tell its Name, ill take a look at it.
But I am not a coder. If I was, i wouldnt be suggesting things for Mods of other People. I would to them myself.

Patch is out! No more LLibrary crash! See the changelog in the OP.
@syndicate25 I'm really sorry, but your crash can only be fixed once I update to 1.8. Stay tuned.
I really understand what you're saying, but I don't have time to make things that other modders already have. If I truly feel that I can improve upon their executions to a great extent, then I will.
This says you removed animation API dependency. Does this mean its included, not required at all, or what? Safe to remove?
Does this mean I can update the LLibrary to the newest (1.7.10) version with no issues?
Is there a reason you're updating to 1.8 instead of just going to 1.9? Seems to me that 1.8 is a dead end for modding since 1.9 has opened up to the modding scene.
