Added a new tool, say hello to the chisel! Ever wonder why you have to destroy an entire block of stone just to get a diamond or some ore? Well not anymore! With the chisel you merely right click on any ore block (except redstone, its too powdery) and the stone will stay there but the valuables pop right out!
This mod aims to slightly industrialize mining while still keeping the vanilla feel of minecraft, so far only a few things are added, but they're very useful.
Blocks
First, you have the x ray block. I know, I know, very cliche but it is a useful tool nonetheless, and it is only the beginning of this mod. Can also be disabled in the config.
Craft your x ray block like so:
It's a shapeless recipe, so the glass and redstone can go anywhere. Put together a bunch of these blocks and you'll have a window into the earth:
Machines
Excavator
The excavator is a simple machine that makes mining from surface to bedrock a breeze. It will alert you when there are ores that you should mine, or if your approaching lava or other things. All in all, a much faster, much safer way to get to bedrock.
Every time you right click your excavator it mines itself into the ground:
Keep right clicking to mine deeper and deeper!
Functions:
Aside from simple mining the excavator has a few more functions. When the excavator detects an ore beneath you, it will stop and alert you of the ore:
Your excavator can also detect when it is approaching lava, and it will give you a warning and stop:
Your excavator can also detect when it is approaching a cave, or an air pocket, keep in mind these may contain lava! So take these warnings seriously. Your excavator won't stop for caves, but it will give you a warning:
Finally, your excavator will halt and let you know when you've hit bedrock:

Use this tool in conjunction with the excavator whenever you run into ores to quickly and resourcefully make it to bedrock!

It's a craftable x ray block, you can see it as a cheat if you'd like, I'm sure others will find it useful but your free to believe what you want. That being said, I'm still open to suggestions, which might I add, are much more conducive to getting what you want instead of saying "this is a cheat". Thank you.

I just don't see how you don't see it as one, this would be handy for beginners, yes, but outside of that, it is not useful.. It really can't be added to popular modpacks or anything like that because they would consider it as a cheat, even if they did add it, they would block that item.
