Igneous Additions started as a simple project; Create slabs and steps for igneous rocks. Since the original concepts, more features have been steadily added, and obsidian and prismarine variants were added to the mix. Igneous Additions now lets you do so much more; You can create slabs, pillars, stairs, furnaces, crafting tables, walls, gates, buttons, pressure plates, swords, and tools. More is being added with every release Doors are currently not implemented, but will be available in 1.2
Scientists have discovered that cultivating farmland using Obsidian also has an unexpected effect... Interested? Just make an Obsidian Hoe, and feel Mother Nature's love.
Certain Prismarine tools, especially the dark variants, have unexpected secondary actions. Interested? Just give me your soul experiment and find out. I take fullno responsibility if your character dies.
Recipes are mostly the equivalent of Minecraft; If you want granite stairs, just substitute cobblestone for raw granite. Want polished diorite slabs? Just use polished diorite instead of Stone. For crafting tables, just mix a regular one with the stone variant.
I recommend using Not Enough Items, especially in future releases
All tools and weapons do not use raw Granite, Diorite, or Andesite; Please use the polished versions
A quick note for modpack creators
I hereby give you permission to redistribute and include this mod in any of your mod packs, with no restrictions. However, it would be nice if you could let me know so that I can play and see where I can expand
If you decide to include Igneous Additions in the credits, please also acknowledge _ArcticMC_ for the original request - If I hadn't seen his topic, I would never have realized that igneous stairs didn't exist.

If you're after 1.2 Beta 2, please go "Other Downloads" - Please note that it is unfinished, and will have more features added before a full release. The new textures will also change slightly, making it easier to not only create new items, but accommodate new texture packs.

I am by no means a masterful builder. If you get a great screenshot using the blocks added by Igneous Additions, feel free to submit them for use here!
THIS EDITOR IS GETTING ANNOYING.
Sick of stupid-looking cobblestone stairs in your mine? Get a builder to swap them for stone, or make them yourself - The recipe is the same, just use smooth stone instead!
So, you've taken claim of your very own Prismarine Temple in order to farm shards and scales, but you have nothing to do with them. Let's help you build your new home.
You can now use pillars to help in your quest for corner walls.
And on the inside, you can keep your crafting and smelting area pristine.
Want to have a nice home, but need to craft without an ugly variation? In a cave, and don't want to be reminded of your shame? We provide the solution! And yes, the prismarine variant does change to match the colour of other prismarine blocks.
You grab your trusty diamond pickaxe, and grab some obsidian. You want to go to the Nether, so you just make a boring old portal. Yet again.
Wouldn't it be nice if you could make something more extravagant?
In just a few minutes, you can make yourself a nice Nether Temple, or take longer to make an artificial Obsidian staircase to hell.
You're making yourself a village (or town, or fake faction base), and need to create roads. Sure, you can just use stone slabs, but they get boring. Trust me, after laying kilometers of roads over multiple servers, they look boring after a while.
You may not think of it as much now, but imagine; You could create a granite village with granite roads, or just try something new. With another mod coming out soon (which is inspired by this one), you will be able to place roads that are suitable for underwater habitat.
Please ignore the street lights; They will be replaced with a new structure in 0.9; I wonder what it could be?

Thanks for this, and I feel like many people will probably end up using this.
Anyway, I already seemed to have found a bug, it is that item frames seem to have the purple and black texture and model, but still have the properties for breaking, placing, and walking.
Tested in a new world, and a pre-mod download created world.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Also take a look at this guide if you are requesting builders for a server/project.
Please note, if I deny a suggestion because it is already possible, then I mean it is already possible withing 10 command blocks (That do not spawn other command blocks) or up to 5 creations (Command blocks that spawn other command blocks) to make your suggestion.
If I critique your suggestion I am not hating on you. Learn the difference.

You're welcome, thank you for suggesting it in the first place
Item frames are working for me, but I both have a new version of Forge and I'm working on the next version of IA. I'm pretty sure that was a problem with Forge itself; It was fixed in #1298 and I can verify that ItemFrames work with these blocks as of #1309
Hopefully if you just update Forge, it will be alright, otherwise I'll trace my steps back to where I fixed it (if it's a glitch in this mod) and send out an update
I just released 0.9, and it looks like the widget is working now!
I'll try to get at least furnaces and doors ready in 1.0, but it probably won't be this week. I came across some more ideas that I want to try to implement
Thanks so much for doing that awesome mod ! *downloading*
Thank you!
Jagm_11 notified me of a bug that occurs if you have a core mod that edits a net.minecraft.init class, or replaces the default stone and obsidian blocks. I should have a proper fix up in a few hours (in case you get it as well and think it is broken)
Edit: 0.9.1 has been released, this should fix any issues so far. I'm back to working on 1.0 now
Yay, I have a question partially related to the mod... if I have a world with the most recent version it's been played in being 1.8.2 pre-7, will it be safe to downgrade it back to 1.8? So I can use this mod? Well, when 1.0 comes out?

As long as 1.8.2 doesn't introduce new blocks or change world generation, it should theoretically be okay to downgrade.
Thanks for pledging to use this It's great knowing that people actually want the features that it adds
I gotz a question, if the title is "Ingneous additions" Or Ingenious additions, will you eventually be adding new things?
Igneous is a type of rock, so it is basically "Rock additions" at the most basic level. So this seems to be a slightly more focused mod.

That's for me to know and you to find out
I won't be adding too many new ideas apart from very sad obsidian totems that can only be used in the nether with this mod itself, but once I get 1.0 released, I'll be working on a few child mods that expand on it.
Example: The ability to create a safe path through a lava pit that only you know about. You'll just have to remember where it is, so you don't burn. Or an underwater fortress without having to use glass to block the water (if I can get the texture right, so far it's not working how I want it to. Lava is fine, though!)
There's a few other mods that I'm working on, but they're on hold until I get this series done

Pretty much
Here's my current list of things to do for the 1.0 release (and a preview of something that's already done)
Next on my list for this morning: Prismarine slabs / steps, then hopefully doors. Iron ones are ugly
I already know what the red lines are...
Crying obsidian!?
Oh and I thought more different things would be added because I thought igneous was just ingenious spelled wrong. My bad.
Uhm, does this add any stone stuff? (The smooth version)
I knew I forgot something :-( I have a stone crafting bench in 1.0, so I'll extend it into the other areas when I finish work. Thanks for reminding me :-)
Doors are proving to be a pain, so i might delay them until 1.1 and do regular stone everything else instead
Yay thankies a lot!!! I'll be waiting anxiously for it!!! ^^ /
I finished stone walls, gates, and stairs last night. I just have to do smooth stone furnaces, Prismarine gates, and the punishments/perks for using Prismarine and Dark Prismarine tools
It should be fun to watch somebody try to chop a tree with a Dark Prismarine axe for the first time. Let's just say Blood Magic would come in handy if you're doing a dense forest or chopping at night
This is really cool! As you already mentioned in the other thread, it would be so cool if you could just add in a bunch of stuff about these 1.8 stones and see how far some stone blocks can go. Furnaces, fences, bricks... I think that would be pretty cool.
Yeah It's amazing how much can be done with just a few stones. Wait, Minecraft lets you polish them, then nothing.
I might suspend Crying Obsidian until 1.1 so I can get a 'gold' release out; See what happens. It will be something extra to motivate me to do it, anyway
I've just released the first and only beta for 1.0; It's available under "Other Downloads" until Curse synchronizes the download in this topic.
There's a few more things that I need to do, including Prismarine tier gates, a smooth stone furnace, and a smooth stone pillar. Then it's just a few final checks and a release if nothing breaks

Yes, I got photobombed by a sheep
I always wanted some of these things to be added, don't know why they aren't already in vanilla...
Hey, thanks! I was worried that nobody was interested in this
I have two more features to finish, then I'll be able to release 0.9; Hopefully it'll only be a few more days at the most.
I was confused when I saw the original suggestion. It's strange having decorative blocks with almost no functionality
I'll try to get at least furnaces and doors ready in 1.0, but it probably won't be this week. I came across some more ideas that I want to try to implement

I just released 0.9.2 which cherry-picks two changes from 1.0:
