Well I have no idea why it thinks it is using Base Metals version 51.0 or why that version number would throw an error. Maybe the mod file got corrupted? Try re-downloading Base Metals and launching Forge with no other mods besides Base Metals to make sure this isn't a mod compatibility problem.

Ah, that would make sense, I try not to really read into mods info pages to try to figure them out as I go (after I get a base idea of what they do) and I hadn't realized that the fantasy metals had special properties to them.
Well, I mostly don't read into things, some mods like your Wonder Wands and Wizarding Robes I do end up reading more into.
I think I found a conflict between this mod and Fun Ores by SilentChaos512. I can't craft bronze recipes with your copper. I suspect someone isn't using the oreDictionary or not using it right. Can you double check for me?
Sure, I'll check it out this weekend. Looking at my code, it appears there are a few recipes (especially crack-hammer recipes) that I should convert to OreDictionary recipes. That should help, assuming that Fun Ores uses the OreDictionary in the standard ingotName/oreName/dustName format.

I added achievements to the mod and converted some of the recipes to OreDictionary recipes (that should solve the problem with Fun Ores). The achievements should give enough hints to help people who are not using NEI.
If anyone here speaks Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, or Chinese, I'd really appreciate someone checking my translation files to make sure that they are comprehensible.
@AresRocks: I did a little research into that error and it means that you are trying to run Minecraft with Java version 1.6 or earlier. You have Java 8 installed on your computer, but your profile is not using it. Go to the profile editor and manually change the java executable path to the file path of java.exe in your Java 1.8 install.

@WolfBoyft: You should be able to make those metals. If you are unable to, then there's a compatibility issue with another mod you have installed. Please tell me which mods you have so I can investigate the issue.
Note that you have to pulverize the metals into dust with the crack hammer and craft the dusts to make an alloy blend (see the Alloys section of the mod post for recipes).

This update is for the modpack makers and mod programmers! You can now create multiple ore-spawn .json files for your mods and dump them all together into the config/orespawn/ folder. All such files will be combined together at runtime. This way, you won't have to edit a single monster file every time you add a new mod. I also fixed a bug that caused very large ore deposits to be too small.
@Wolfboyft: I didn't know that there was a specific color for adamantine/-ite/-ium. My D&D books only hint that it has a dark color. I happen to like the fact that the current color matches the armor worn by the Juggernaught from X-Men, but if there's a consensus that it should be red (or whatever color), then I'll change it. You can always make a texture pack to make the colors match your preference.

I just went back through my D&D books and all the artwork portraying objects and creatures made of adamantine are dark-gray or black. In the X-Men movies, adamantium is also dark-gray (except for Wolverine's claws, which look like stainless steel). Where did you get the idea that it should be red?

Actually, I think you're thinking of orichalcum. As in "the red light of orichalcum" described in ancient texts.
Then again, there's some research to suggest that many ancient cultures didn't have a word for "blue", and some old texts have off references such as honey being described as green, so the colours they called things are open to interpretation anyway, I guess.
Well, I'm is not trying to be either Terraria or Metallurgy, even if Base Metals is conceptually similar to the latter. I'm open to changing the color of adamantine, but it still has to look like a metal. The Terraria screenshots make it look like a ruby, which is a great user interface design choice, but I'm aiming more for the gritty Swords-and-Sorcery atmosphere.

Note that if you want to use orespawn .json config files to spawn ores from other mods or vanilla Minecraft, you need to disable ore spawning for the other mod in question or the ores will be generated twice (vanilla Minecraft ore generation can be disabled in the CUSTOM world type).
I see that you recommend using a CUSTOM world type, I was wondering if it would be possible to have an option in the config that says disable vanilla ore spawn? Mostly because I am not sure how CUSTOM world types work on servers (and maybe a tiny bit of lazy / how frequently I'd forget to use a CUSTOM world)
I know nothing about making mods, for all I know its a massive pain to do that, but I figured I'd ask.
That's a good idea. I'll add that when I do the next update.

It turns out I broke the Invar recipe in the last update. Sorry for that. It's fixed now in version 1.2.1

Also, if you don't want a vanilla ore to spawn in CUSTOMIZED you can set all values for it to 0 (I would just use size 0, the lazy way)
