Thanks Ariannae, turns out there's a conflict with the Player API mod. I added a note in the top post, and am working on fixing this.
Sure kev12east, no problem as long as you give credit and a link. However this mod is barely 3 days old and still has some compatibility issues, like the just-discovered conflict with the Client API mod. That mod is quite popular with TFC players so I suggest holding off until this is fixed before including it in your modpack.

My mods:
Worlds load fine now with a rather heavily modded game, but, surprisingly, I've only seen a few Streams in a Twilight Forest biome, and not much of anywhere else. I'll test around on different Forge versions, but how rare are the Streams by default?
On another note, I may have found a bug with this mod and RWG concerning villages (I don't know if this is on your end or not), an image is here.
Either way, this is still a great mod and lots of fun to explore with!
I've noticed similar situations, but I chalked it up to the randomness of RNG and bad luck. Now I'm practically convinced rivers have a higher chance of generating on or near a village. I'd say I've seen at least 3 where the village streets were practically replaced with flowing river.

As for villages, they know about the biome they're in but not the terrain, and don't react too elegantly when deep chasms show up in their supposedly "flat" biomes (try vanilla Amplified worlds to see what I mean). So I can't do much about structures ending up on top of rivers except to deny them replacing the river blocks, to avoid damming the river. But your screenshot shows that I didn't quite succeed in at least one case, in the middle of the picture. I'll see if there's something I can change there.
BTW rivers showing up frequently near villages is a coincidence; I don't reuse any part of the vanilla structure placement calculation. But absent massive chasms like in the picture, I think a riverside village is quite pretty no? (Well, that is once you rebuild their eroded foundations and save the poor villagers being swept away on the current).

Also fastcraft seems to reduce the amount of flowing rivers as they seem a lot harder to find

On a technical note, does this require Forge in order to work or is it a standalone install?

This is a bug which I described in the FAQ ("rivers crossing"). This will be fixed as a part of a generator rewrite that will also make rivers more natural-looking and hopefully more frequent.

Did I do something wrong (forge version or any mistakes) or maybe if it's a bug or a mod conflict?
After I took a look at the crash report, streams mod got errored along with tubes mod and translocator mod.
Edit 2: I tried to remove the two mods, but the crash is still happened with the same report
