I am trying to install this with TerraFirmaCraft, but the game simply refuses to start (no error log).
Which version of Streams & Farseek are compatible with TFC 0.79.29.922 ? I tried different combinations but fail at it (TFC will start normally without Streams, so that is why I think it is the culprit.)

Almost nothing is compatible with TFC. TFC pretty much does their own thing and they give no ducks if what they do remains compatible with Forge and other Forge mods.
The last time I tried to combine mods with TFC, the only thing I got working was ComputerCraft (which was pointless because redstone ore was not spawning).

Streams/Farseek for 1.7.10 is compatible with TFC (thanks to lots of custom coding, as Draco18s mentions TFC does worldgen very differently). Even if your game crashes on startup there should still be something in the most recent file in your "logs" directory of your Minecraft install. Can you double-check and post here? (within Spoiler tags).

Thanks for the reply and sorry for the late response. I did manage to get it working in the end with an earlier version of Farseek (0.1 I believe) and latest Streams. Must have missed this combo in my initial tries.

Glad you got it to work, I hope you don't hit incompatibilities if using such an old version of FS though. I expect the latest version of FS to work; could you still post your logs from your previous failed attempt? Thanks!
Streams and Farseek are now available for 1.12.1! Versions for 1.9.4/1.10 and 1.11/1.11.2 are also updated. The new releases include an experimental worldgen performance fix, an easier way to make shaders work with river blocks using a properties file (see the FAQ in the top post for instructions), as well as various other fixes. Please give it a try and let me know how it performs for you.
Hello, I am not sure if anyone has brought this up yet, but while trying to use this with Realistic World Generator (not Realistic Terrain Generator) there seems to occasionally be lines of stone, or ice depending on biome, across the streams, though not a huge problem it is slightly annoying, this is on version 1.7.10, which I am aware may mean there is nothing to be done about it since it's an older version. However, if anyone knows anything I can do to fix this I would appreciate it very much, thanks!
(In regard to a mod that gives realistic animal genetics):
Would you really rather have bees that make diamonds and oil with magical genetic blocks?
... did I really ask that?
I'm having a small issue... Note that both Optifine and Streams are at their latest version and the game is at V1.12.2.
I followed the instructions provided and placed the block.properties file into the "shaders" folder of my shader pack, then I enabled the shader. When I restarted the game at some point, I noticed that the streams did not render properly. I checked the client-latest log and found the following within...

I then disabled and re-enabled the shader pack (thus reloading its files), and that seemed to fix the issue. Upon restarting the game, the issue returned. In other words, the tedious solution is to disable and re-enable the shader pack every time I launch the game. This leads me to believe that Optifine's load order upon launching the game, which the client-latest file alludes to being before all other mods (since this message was at around line 500/12000), causes the game to fail at detecting the Stream blocks. Either there's something I haven't done that must be done or I need to use the old method to enable rendering for Streams; and in such a case, I would appreciate guidance on how to do so (since the old method message is no longer available in console).

Hi ancients5, thanks for reporting this. I was able to reproduce this but not I'm not sure it's fixable on my end, because OF seems to parse the blocks during its coremod phase before normal mods get the chance to register them. I suggest opening an issue with Optifine at https://github.com/sp614x/optifine/issues and see what the dev says. Thanks!
I've found that this mod appears to be incompatible with DrZhark's Mo'Creatures mod, especially the CustomMobSpawner dependency which affects worldgen.
Thanks guys for letting me know of the OTG regression, I just released Farseek 1.12-2.2.2 which fixes this. Please let me know if you still see a crash with this version.
Is there any way yet (be it through op or not) to make your own custom river and place those flowing blocks?

Yea, it's been brought up. I forgot about that. We've been asked to provide some debugging information, but I never did.

I've noticed that the water this mod uses is incompatible with water mills from mods such as Immersive Engineering and Better With Mods.
Is this something that could possibly be remedied? This mod's aesthetic goes so well with the idea of water mills.
I do recall a previous version of this mod working with Immersive Engineering water mills, and the unique water blocks showed up in JEI/NEI.

Good news Ghost8909, I just added support for those in a new release, Streams 1.12-0.4.1. Give it a try and let me know if it works for you! :-)
I also have a new version of Farseek: Farseek 1.12-2.2.1, that adds support for the Open Terrain Generator (OTG) mod by popular request.

I've found that this mod appears to be incompatible with DrZhark's Mo'Creatures mod, especially the CustomMobSpawner dependency which affects worldgen.
I was hoping to get Streams working with Biome Bundle which is dependent on OTG but it doesn't seem to want to take on 1.12.2.
Seems to be crashing when combined with OTG and Biome Bundle on 1.12.2
Crashlog
Both work individually, but not together.
Thanks guys for letting me know of the OTG regression, I just released Farseek 1.12-2.2.2 which fixes this. Please let me know if you still see a crash with this version.
My mods:
Would it be possible to get Streams working with Dooglamoo Worlds? I'm not sure which end would need to be modified.
