Gah! I was supposed to chat with you, @irtimaled... it slipped past in the overtime I had to do, then "life" catching up from the overtime. I'm playing Minecraft Bedrock on Realms, so my focus is away from the Java mods and Spigot these days. But I'm confident there are others in this thread who can thoroughly test things out.
The one cool thing with the LiteLoader version (and a way to encourage servers to use the Spigot Plug-in to allow for client-side support) is the detail on https://dev.bukkit.org/projects/clientpermissions. This would allow you as the developer to put in "permission settings" into the plugin that dictate what players may do on the client side. One argument AGAINST allowing BBOR is "you can see villages and structures from "horizon", making this mod quite over-powered. But it is invaluable for *diagnostics*. Solution? Use ClientPermissions as a plug-in and explicitly allow /op to see EVERYTHING such as Nether Fortresses, Strongholds, and such, allow mod staff to only see village doors, village borders and iron golem spawn area, and rank-n-file to not be allowed to use BBOR at all on the server. This will help push BBOR from being a client-side cheat to being a server diagnostic tool for a broader audience.
Hey guys isit only me or the iron golem spawn area doesnt show? checked the cfg files and it was true. Using forge 1.12.2
Sorry , found the the box only appear if iron golem spawn is possible
I'm using 1.12.2 and downloaded the BBOR for Vanilla. Did the copy and rename bit as usual. All fine there. Copied the BBOR files into the copy jar as usual. Where I am running into trouble, is the 'delete the contents of the downloads sections'. Which sections? Just the one above the name like you show? All of the downloads sections in the json? Here is what happens when I do these things. (A) Don't delete any = game loads and runs fine, B and O don't do anything. No BBOs. (B) Delete any of the downloads sections = Game won't play' Says it needs files from an unknown version.
Thoughts on where I am going wrong? It seems to work for others, and I am not seeing where I am messing it up.

I haven't been messing with the actual *.jar files in a while. It's much easier using a program such as Multi MC (a launcher with a little more functionality than the vanilla one) which allows you to load the *.zip (such as BBOR for vanilla) files as mods without having to mess with any *.jar files.
I couldn't get it to work on my Spigot Server. Mod installed successfully on Forge (MC 1.12.2)
Spigot Server sits on a machine on my home network, and I am admin, but no bounding box appears. I guess the Vanilla Server trick wouldn't work on Spigot?
This is super useful, I probably wouldn't be able to troubleshoot any iron farms without it.
But could we please get options to turn certain things on and off? Even if it's just a text file. It's incredibly difficult to use when slime chunk borders are stuck on the screen, blocking what I'm trying to see. I tried just deleting SlimeChunkRenderer.class but that didn't seem to work.
Keep up the great work!
Edit: spoke before I read through a few pages of responses, didn't realize there was a config folder. (I don't typically use mods.) An in-game options menu would be nice though, and maybe some granular controls like custom color options per structure type, and more options on bounding boxes.
For example, a menu that had a button that lead to options for "Villages". When you clicked villages, you could choose if they're on or off, which colors they're "allowed" to choose randomly, and then options for each part (doors, golem spawns, sphere, etc) to have a filled or unfilled bounding box individually.
Hey! Thank you for providing this mod as it is really helpful. I just have one problem with it, nether fortresses aren't loading for me. I've looked at the config and the code:
B:drawNetherFortresses=true
is set to true which should draw the bounding box but it isn't. It only seems to work in the overworld for me. I don't know if its the fact that I downloaded the mod after going to the nether but I don't think that would be an issue. If you can help me I would be very grateful.
P.S. If you want to know the rest of the configuration file, message me back. Thank you.
while the mod works fine in the overworld (at least for slime chunks, villages, and spawnpoint), i can't get nether fortresses.
like standing next to a nether fortress ... pressing B ... nothing happens
Perhaps you can give me more details - I was able to use the mod in forge and vanilla with a single player world, and against a multi player server with local dat files just fine.
This mod can't do that yet. just village border and iron golem spawn box
You can show the doors - you just need to edit the config file. There is a bug where the config file doesn't get created in Vanilla, but if you load the forge mod once you'll get a config file you can then edit with any text editor. There is an option to show the lines from each door to the village center.
So I took a look at the mod with forge (as you can see in the attached images) and I can see fortress boxes in the latest release. If you have issues please confirm if you are using liteloader, forge or vanilla. Also it would be interesting to turn off the bounding boxes in the nether, go to the overworld, back to the nether and then turn on the bounding boxes again.
Thanks!
EDIT: Ok I tried this with LiteLoader and vanilla (following my instructions on how to do it) and nether fortress boxes appeared just fine (as can be seen from the attached images)
Very cool! We are looking forward to the 1.13 release on our server. We've been playing Snapshots and Prereleases. Were you able to work out a Spigot Plugin that provides your client the data it needs to work on SMP?
This doesn't work on a vanilla server. If you want to use client/server then you need to use Forge for your server. If you want to connect to a vanilla server and can copy dat files from the server to your client then this would work with Forge/Liteloader/Vanilla versions of this mod and some dat files.
If that's too hard for you then you can use the LiteLoader or Forge version of the mod against a vanilla server.
To identify where to put the dat files launch the client with the mod installed and connect to your server. Quit Minecraft and take a look at the logs and you'll see something like the attached image. This is where you put the dat files.
I started looking at using tweakers to load the mod instead of needing JAR modification in vanilla. Java is not my first language and so I struggled to get it to work at all.
When 1.13 mod can be made I'll try to figure this out again.

Thanks for the great job.
Just tested the latest version on Minecraft 1.12.2. Everything works pretty well. Just this:
Boxes for Strongholds and Mineshafts do not work at all.
Slimechunk boxes will collide with other Structures and make that part disappear.
And Please add the option to enable and disable the Slime chunk Box.
Thanks again

Noob Question: how do you get to the options in order to turn on door lines for villages?
Dean, this isn't funny, the voices are telling me I only have a few minutes left.

I don't really understand how to get this to work on a vanilla server, can someone tell me how and what a 'relevant jar file' is please?
Hi Saiygh,
This doesn't work on a vanilla server. If you want to use client/server then you need to use Forge for your server. If you want to connect to a vanilla server and can copy dat files from the server to your client then this would work with Forge/Liteloader/Vanilla versions of this mod and some dat files.

Hi DonJay,
You can use this mod with a vanilla server if you copy the dat files to your local folder.
To install the mod on vanilla client follow the steps defined in this post.. https://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/mapping-and-modding-java-edition/minecraft-mods/2345401-bounding-box-outline-reloaded-mod-for-minecraft-1?comment=192
