You misunderstand, I like that idea. I would find an infinite source of dirt invaluable, so I would not need to mar my landscapes. Could it possibly be a feature?
And I second the notion by GeeTheBlueSky to check out the source code for Better Foliage. I love that mod, and it is indeed useful. It's able to procure the textures for any mod with leaves, and use them to achieve the effects on ever tree. It even works with tinker's oreberry bushes.

Awesome mod, I really like the idea of farming ores other than using some sort of plants
Do you allow your mod to be included in mod packs? Specifically public mod packs?
Also, I'm looking forward to the ore customization part. It would allow us to integrate it into our mod pack quite nicely.

I'm glad you like the mod! You can use my mod in your modpack as long as you give me credit, include a link to this thread, and don't make money from it. An occasional update about how your pack is going would also be great!
As for customization, my plan is to have it out in late March.
Thank you all for the support! I'm excited to see where this mod has gone. Special thanks to LexLV for the great showcase! It was so amazing to see it on the forum homepage. Thank you, also, for your suggestions. Many of your suggested features will be available in the next update.
You guessed it! In the next update, the mod will be able to produce custom textures for your very own ore sheep.
Happy mining!
That's amazing Exactly what I was looking for!
I'm using MooFluid mod and this is just what I needed to change the useless Vanilla sheeps
Can't wait for this update!

Thanks for your support! I am excited to have my mod in such an established pack. This thread isn't dead, I've just been busy. As for automation, I don't know of any methods for doing so yet.
If all goes according to plan, I'll have v2.5 out this weekend with some exciting new features!
Ok, thanks! And i have an idea... I think if you take one of the ore sheep and put it above an arcane levitator, then place a cobble generator in between the two, the sheep will eat the cobble, fly up from the levitator, then fall back down once the cobble comes back.. Not 100% sure though
The ore sheep are stubbornly boycotting v2.5 by repeatedly crashing the game. I will try to talk some sense into them, but it may take another few weeks. However, I have convinced the sheep of pickaxe equality, so support for other mod pickaxes will be in the next update. Thanks for the suggestion Randysdoom and stephenator0316!
v2.5 was just released! Though customizability was not added, this version is several steps in the right direction. If you see any bugs or resource packs my mod doesn't work well with, let me know!
v2.5 changelog:
Added the netherrack ore sheep.
Most other mod pickaxes now shear sheep as well.
Sheared ore sheep now have ore splotches instead of wool ones.
Ore sheep now use resource pack ore textures for their own textures. This means that ore sheep will take the appearance of the ores in installed resource packs.
tedyhere: Another person also gave me this crash report. I forgot to test my mod with server compatibility, but I will put out a new version today to fix the issue. It has to do with calling rendering related code on the serverside, which obviously doesn't work .
Thanks!
Edit: v2.6 has just been released. It fixes the server side crash.
If it's a private modpack (ex. Only you and friends will be playing it, and won't be "mass producing" the pack on FTB or something) then you cant put whatever mods you want in it, however, if you plan to release it to the public, then yes, you do need Ice's permission!

When I saw this mod I simply had to review it. It's an awesome idea! Forget mining for diamonds! I'll just make 101 diamond sheep!
Any ideas on how to automate it? Oh, and btw, if you didn't know it, your mod is in Agrarian Skies 2!!! Congrats man!
Dead thread?

Reccomendation: Add Support for Tinkers' Construct Pickaxes?
What this guy said, becuase in AS2, you have to make a vanilla pickaxe, and how jaded has it, each vanilla pick only has 2 durability, sooo yeah

\o/ No all you have to do is add in Potato sheep, then Turtles

Hi I'm making a modpack that includes me and my brother's favorite mods. My brother loves this mod. Can we use it in our modpack?
Hi! It would be cool if you could check out my youtube channel! https://www.youtube.com/user/machinespray

Yes, you may use my mod in your mod pack. Also, read the homepage of this thread. My mod pack policy is there. I'm glad you like my work!
v3.0 is coming along nicely and the sheep seem to be behaving themselves. I may give some exciting screenshots in the coming weeks!
