Hmm, well, I don't know the dynamics of how MFR's rubber tree avoids that (you chop it the first time and get rubber, but not occasions after), so my suggestion would be ask if it would be possible to utilize something like Pam's cinnamon trees, where the resin grows on its own special tree. Which would give you the option of making it re-growable, or flagging it to break the block when harvested so it has to be planted again.
Nice mod! I've been looking for a good, balanced peaceful mod. I know there already mods that do that kind of thing, but this is the first I've seen that doesn't force you to search a million chunks and bloat your saves, requires mob parts, or get a bunch of expensive materials. No super cheaty recipes or recipes excessively difficult ones. Blends pretty seamlessly. Don't know how I ended using almost all your mods, but you clearly got a heckuva lot of good idead and the ability to pull them off.
This is a very unique mod, and fill an important gap I think. Especially for people like me who prefer to play in Peaceful. I have a request though: would it be possible for you to add in a craftable burlap backpack? Every backpack mod that I've been able to find requires leather, so I end up getting Pam's Mob Drop Crops for rotten flesh, then another mod to convert the rotten flesh to leather. I think that a burlap backpack would be awesome.

Burlap is oredicted with leather and all existing leather recipes are replaced with oredict versions by The Vegan Option, so all modded backpacks should already be craftable with burlap. If you find one that it doesn't work with, let me know and I'll add support for it.
Besides being not a vegan, I love this mod. I am going to include it on my modpack. Tear of suffering is eh acceptable but wither skull is literally op. One of my fav thing is creation of mashed potatoes
Great mod! As a vegan it doesn't really bother me in minecraft but it always makes me think I wonder if anyone made a vegan specific mod and thanks to the curse client I now got my answer. xD Anyway thanks and keep up the good work!
I've been playing with a LAN server, and came across an issue with the composter. Apparently, when using the composter, WAILA reports 0 degrees and 0% composting. However, the composter does work, as I've been able to form compost from one of them. But there's no way to keep track of the temperature when the mod is running off a server (It seems to be fine when running entirely in the client).
I don't know if the issue is with VO or WAILA, but I figured I'd take it here first.
I am embarrassed to say that it turns out I had only installed WAILA on the client. The lack of the server-side installation caused no information to be available for the VO. Those little things can gitcha.
I've just started Minecraft and been playing peaceful vegetarian single-player survival for a week or two now, and the restrictions of vanilla Minecraft are starting to get a bit grating... I've never really used a mod in a game before though.
What will happen when I downgrade from Minecraft 1.8? Or will this be available for 1.8 sometime soon?
How do you suggest I get around that?
Probably me just being a moron but I can't seem to find the config file. I'd like to get rid of the fossils since I have other mods that add them.

So many mods, so little time.

Any ETA on the config update?
It's a really awesome mod in terms of potential, but the lack of control over its functions makes it rather undesirable
Turkey would love this mod.

Oh! A little odd, but why not have the resin drop from the leaves instead of the wood?
I have an idea of how to avoid the problem, just haven't had much time to work on Minecraft mods recently. Will try it once I get the chance.

Are you also using WAWLA?
Which versions of the involved mods are you using?
I have it on my server, and it works fine.

Happy to hear you got it sorted out at least!

While, personally, I think Vegans are only useful as an emergency food supply, I really like some of the interesting concepts in the mod.
