this is not possible using only one Monitor. You might need to wait
until the Release of the Replay Mod to create a timelapse using your
setup.
I did actually find a way, but it's ghettoish.
In the Options notepad file of Minecraft is pauseOnLostFocus:true
Change it to false, and even though it's not the active window, it will be good for recording.
Launch MC twice, once for the production account, and once for the camera account.
Resize the production account's window to as small as you can stand. Enlarge the camera account's window as big as 16:9 aspect ratio will allow. I just guestemate.
Set OBS (or whatever capturing software) to record the entire monitor.
Edit the resulting footage; crop out all but the cam window.
Total video quality might suffer a bit, but it beats grinding one's project to a halt.
Now, your Replay Mod, I'm very interested in. When's this due out!? Also, what if I want to donate after the 9 days left (as of 6-14-15) on your kickstarter campaign?
I would suggest to keep looking into that spinning camera bug, 19/20 videos i attempt start spinning the camera slowly. Even when its only 2 or 3 camera points making a straight line. I haven't figured out how the lucky 20th video actually works out. I have tried re-downloading to the latest one and yes, ive been using the v1.2.
Is there a way to not make the cam curve as much on a straight path, I set 2 points at the same height in a straight line and there was a curve putting me under the ground mid way through the path.
This was done when point 1 and point 2 were the same height off the ground level parallel to each other.
Heres a video I made with the spinning camera issue.
To confirm, this is using the latest available version of the mod, with clean reinstall, the camera path had only two points, in the same axis, the entire route is ~11,500 blocks long and camera was pointing the same direction at the beginning and the end. it was recorded over 20 minutes (shrunk down in post-editing)
I gave up trying to film it how I wanted it to look after at least 40 attempts, ended up looking alright but would prefer to not have a spinning camera.
It appears we're not talking the same spinning camera bug here.
It seems like in your video, you had a camera rotation of 1° at the beginning, and 359° in the end or something, which resulted in the camera rotating once over the course of the whole path. Next time, try teleporting to exactly align your camera rotation to the same position (using /tp @p ~ ~ ~ 0 ~ or similar)
thanks for the info, I did some more testing, luckily I saved the cam points as warps so i can find out their exact numbers.
At starting point
X 4285.5, Y 81, Z 0.5
Facing West (Towards Negative X (87.9 / 29.5)
Ending point
X -4529.5, Y 81, Z 0.5
Facing West (Towards Negative X) 89.9 / 28.2)
Recorded over 20 minutes
I have tried re recording it with the start and ending points at opposite angles of each other and I get the same spinning bug. Could this also be a bug due to the extra long distance involved?
Hey! The mod works perfectly and its really smooth, is there a way to unlock the cursor so i can record a 3rd person timelapse on one screen and switch screens to play in the pov of the alt account. it seems when i try to open chat like i normaly do to record these so menu does not pop up the cursor is still locked. I want to record something like mumbojumbo
Hi @CrushedPixel you should add an option to undo the Previous point you made. Sometimes you just have one wrong and you have to delete all the points because of that!
Hey everybody! So i got this saving problem. It records and finishes well but when i check .minecraft video folder it's empty everytime but it definetely saves somewhere in other place cause my hard disk is filling after every record well i've searched everywhere but still cannot find any videos . PLs halp me (
I've bought a second account to use as a cameraman, and the server I play on has given me permission to use PixelCam.
Final Obstacle: How do I use OBS to record my cameraman's view, while using my regular account to act. (as in a time-lapse)?
I only have one monitor.
Thanks!
Hello Archlich,

That is going to be amazing. I'm going to use the replay mod to make a shortfilm

Hello Lich,
Your solution seems possible, but a bit over-done
You can btw toggle the pauseOnLostFocus setting by pressing F3+P simultaneously.
Regarding the Replay Mod:
I am very careful with posting estimated release dates, but it should be somewhen next month.
If you want to donate, feel free to do so here: Link Removed
Thanks for your support!

Indeed, please download the latest version.
Will there be a 3rd person option? Like you can record your own player acting while the camera will still be in action!!
I'd really like to see that be added soon! Search: Frozen Cam mod that has the option I want but its not 1.8

You probably had a third point before those two which was set above the other two points.
That's how interpolation works.
Please describe your issue more specific, or make a video demonstrating the error. From your report, I can't conclude what's the matter.

In Case it also helps, heres some of my specs
Java 1.8.0_25 64bit
GTX 880M 3GB
FML v8.0.20.1295
Optifine 1.8 HD U D3
Pixelcam Mod 1.2
Nice mod. Could you make an installer so it is compatible with optifine + shaders?
Thanks.
You know, one does not simply "make an installer so it is compatible"....
That's not how any of this works.
