It seems that looking at entities while having the HUD enabled and shaders on causes the game to lag out, or shaders to go crazy unfortunately.
I have this same problem, but I've not seen any solutions. I have to disable Horse Info and Mob Info in order for it not to sort of fixate on the mob directly in front of me, with weird afterimages of my surroundings appearing all around it.
There's no real option for changing where the overlay is, I've opened the menu with the U key (still default) and I can change the range at which it occurs and when it'll compress the number of hearts, but the overlay supposedly exists in the upper-left-hand corner of the screen, but clicking on it, right-clicking, dragging or anything else has no effect at all. Can't reposition it and it appears over the mob's head anyway, so I'm not sure what the thing is supposed to be.
My HUD started going somewhat going offscreen and I can't see everything. Is your HUD supposed to resize to match the height and width of the screen? Is so, it stopped doing that for whatever reason. I'll try deleting the config file and see if that resets it into working order.
I think this a known issue which should be fixed in development.

This is also (hopefully) fixed in development, although it's difficult to get everything to play nice graphics-wise due to mixing different versions of OpenGL and such.

Has any progress been made with this issue? Currently can't use this mod because of that but I'd really like to!

Yes, a lot of features are being rewritten so the next update will most likely fix lots of graphics bugs. However, the update could take a little while to finish. You can see the progress being made on the GitHub repository.
As a small update, I have also done some work on translation, to make it easier to contribute translations in your own language. If you know how to use Git, you can submit a pull request, or instead download the template language file. Full instructions are here.
Any idea when this will be updated for 1.13 ? I love this mod, it has everything I could ever want in a HUD !
Just to make sure (since I'm not that tech savvy) where should it be installed to, in the minecraft folder ? Should I be using Optifine or Forge ? or is there a difference ?
I don't know when it will be updated to 1.13-- I have a big update in the works in 1.12, so probably soon after. The mod uses Forge, there is a version of Forge that includes Optifine (I think?) which might be what you have. The folder is %AppData%/.minecraft/mods or wherever you've set your installation folder to.
I have just released a beta version 1.4. Anyone who has been having issues with 1.3.9 in 1.12.X should test to see if their issues have been fixed. This version is compiled with 1.12.2, but other versions may also work (if you find compatibilities, I'll update the file on CurseForge).
3. XP Bar and Hunger Bar are not in alphabetical order.
For (1), that will be considered in a future release after 1.4. I won't be adding any new features until 1.4 is out, only finishing up existing ones.
I agree with you that a delete button is a missing part of the reorder menu, I will also be providing some inbuilt configs that can't be deleted, like a base vanilla config. (3) should be a pretty easy fix. Thanks for testing!
Love this mod. Essential for me.
However. 2 small remarques.
In-game time, specifically day. Why it's shifted by 1? Like everything numbered, days start at 0. I know, I live in zero-phobic society, but still.
Breeding indicator. I either miss the point, or something is not working. My idea of it: breed indicator (with customizable image of food) would be on when that animal could and be able to breed. I feed it and the breed indicator goes off.
How it works, at least for me: is the animal grown-up? Breed indicator on. That's it.
I would also like to suggest idea, and that would be a in-game time calendar, with customizable weeks, moths and years, and of course, date format. So I could say something like each week has 8 days (because it's my calendar, not the one based on real one), each month has 4 weeks, each year has 8 months. Nice and round numbers. Or! Or there could just be checkbox, which would make it like the real calendar. With all it's crap, like leap year, months not being constant lenght, etc. Sure. I just don't understand and cannot imagine, why would anyone opt in for this, when you can make your ow, superior system.
I don't usually hear of days being numbered from zero. However, I don't think it matters much either way. If you want the dates to look like real dates, there is an option in the settings. Day 1 becomes January 1st, 1970 (the UNIX epoch). I'm not sure how it would aid gameplay to create your own calendar.
As for the breeding indicator, it has been removed since the version you are using. The Minecraft server doesn't expose enough information to tell whether or not an animal can breed or how long is left. This used to be the functionality of the breed indicator, but it was changed and became impossible without using coremod features.
jobicade: Everything starts at 0. Look at the number line. Computers number everything from 0. Only humans still don't get it.
And I would be silent about it, when the debug screen would show the same day number as HUD. But it doesn’t. It shows one less. Why? Because HUD adds 1 day.
Look at it like this: You start new MC world. It’s 06:00. How many days already passed? 0. Simple as that. So, it’s day 0. You survive through the day, until 23:59. Day 0 ends. Next moment is 00:00, day 1. One day already passed. Simple. Adding 1 to day count is confusing.
“how it would aid gameplay to create your own calendar”? When I’m starting to build something bigger, than new section of highway system, horse station there, or something like that, then I look at the days (and subtract 1). Maybe note that number somewhere. On some sign or something. When I’m finished, I do the same. And by just logging all of this, I can create history of growth of my empire. And for example, I would know, that my new house took me about 1100 MC days to build. Or when I was digging my first highway tunnel, about day 340. It took me single day. Now I can see, how the scale of my construction got bigger.
For me, this is like asking, why would we count years. What life improvements it provides?
So, sadly, no breed indicator, huh? Well, that’s a shame. But thanks for the answer.
Jobicade, I still can't get Better Hud to work with 1.13.1. Is it just not compatible with this update, or any I doing something wrong ? I download and install it into my Mods folder in the .minecraft folder, then extract it there. Am I missing a step, or not extracting it into the right place ?
Anyone else get this to work with 1.13.1 ? Please let me know, I am desperate to get this mod and all it's great features back on my screen. Thanks in advance for any help.
I fixed it by manually moving everything. Everything's as I want it now.
Well just so it doesn't happen again be sure to anchor the elements in place so they don't move off screen.

Looks like with Optifine not being updated yet for 1.13 (80% there) and Forge not being updated yet, Better HUD isn't working. Hopefully soon ...

Changelog
The mod got 3x better, thank you for adding customizazble vanilla elements.
In terms of whats needed and whats broken.
1. vanilla elements should be able to be set vertical and horizontal. (health, hunger, air, armor, hotbar, xp bar etc.)
2. There needs to be a delete button for getting rid of presets. https://imgur.com/a/3YAw7fn
3. XP Bar and Hunger Bar are not in alphabetical order.
For (1), that will be considered in a future release after 1.4. I won't be adding any new features until 1.4 is out, only finishing up existing ones.

EDIT: I have fixed the alphabetical order bug.
Sadly I still can't get it to work in 1.13.1 but am happy to wait, this is one of the best mods I've ever used.
I miss the graphical saturation bar of applecore (and it doesn't appear when adding the applecore mod) ... something to think about

Dominicus_Saxon: Don't you need forge for that? And forge for 1.13.1 is just…non existent yet.
Ahh, that's right. I need Forge updated. 1.13.1 has been out for a bit now, wonder why Forge hasn't been updated to use with it yet.
