The MyFit Mod! This mod allows Minecraft players to enhance their performance through statistics. The more times you do something, the better you get at it, giving you better buffs. However, the only way to receive these benefits is to craft and wear the MyFit. To wear the MyFit, press M (you can change it in controls) and it will open up the MyFit menu. Put your MyFit in the slot labeled "MyFit". Once you have the MyFit on, it will start tracking your stats. The more you walk/sprint. the more speed you will get. All effects given by the MyFit are permanent unless you take it off. Jumps give you jump boost, more mob/player kills give you strength, the more damage you take the more resistance you get, and finally, the longer you are on your Minecraft world, the more haste you get. There are also toggle switches on the left of the MyFit menu, where you can turn certain buffs on/off. If you get one level of every stat, you get Health Boost 1! This continues to 3 (e.g. you get two levels of every stat you get Health Boost 2!
You can also create a MyFit Extreme. This adds four new buffs. Three of these can only be obtained once no matter how much of the stat you get. Remember that only the MyFit Extreme tracks these four buffs, the MyFit won't.
IMPORTANT: If the MyFit is not loading your stats and no tooltip appears when you hover over the item, right click it to make the MyFit reload and/or bind its stats to you.
MyFit Extreme
2000m swum = 1 depth striding (potion effect) level
2 hours underwater = Water Breathing
1 hour 40 min in fire = Fire Resistance
3 hours below y=40 = Night Vision
If you get one level of every stat (on the original MyFit), you get Health Boost level 1!
This continues to 3(e.g. you get two of every stat you get Health Boost 2)!
Awesome Mod Review by SSundee:
There is a cheatStat command to add or subtract stats from the MyFit. This command does not change the actual statistics; they just change the MyFit. These changes are also NOT PERMANENT. They will reset when you exit the game. To use the command type in /cheatStat, tab for your stat options, then add the number(positive for addition, negative for subtraction). There is also a "reset" option to reset all Cheated Stats.
Version 2.0
-Added MyFit Extreme
-Added three new stats

An excellent concept, I think. It certainly has some extreme potential. However, I'd like to know some rather important details, such as;
1. "Do the effects scale, and if so, to what level?"
2. "Is it SMP compatible, or merely client-side?"
3. "Are these effects re-set upon death?"
4. "Would I be able to configure the rate of growth through configuration file settings?"
All in all, however, I'm bookmarking this page, because I certainly have a great deal of hope for this mod to do well. Excellent job, and keep updating.
Thank you very much for your reply, and I have bookmarked this thread. Very intrigued to see how this does, and where it goes.
If I could recommend anything, it would be to have the MyFit item itself bauble-compatible, so it could fit in your amulet slot, or ring, or something like that.
Also, building more on what "Leqesai's" said about 'more functionality', I think it would be neat to add further buffs. ( Maybe even buffs outside of vanilla Minecraft *wink* *wink* ) However, you might want to add some negative effects to balance the permanent, free, infinitely-scaling speed/damage/haste; such as getting the weakness effect after dying "?" amount of times. Or slowness before you get to "?" blocks walked, and then remove the slowness, and then start developing the speed.

That is some of what I was thinking. My idea was that if you spend too much time not doing anything(e.g. Not jumping for a long time) you would start to lose buffs and or get debuffs. This came from the idea of atrophing muscles. The death counter debuffs is a good idea, and would be good motivation to keep from dying, especially for those series with keepInventoryItems on.
As for the bauble slots, I don't want it to be an amulet or ring, etc. Maybe a MyFit slot somewhere.
I did want to add more buffs, but there weren't really the right stats for any other effects, unless you really want to get specific. I could add extra buffs, but I don't really know what to add, so if you have an idea just post it.
Well mining to mine faster,
digging to dig faster
swimming to breathe longer
getting hit to increase health
getting burned to give fire reistance
shooting with the bow to give bonus to bow dmg
stuff like that
The first two are both hard to do, since there is no actual mined blocks stat.
The water breathing potion gives you permanent water breathing, so I would have to make a new potion effect.
Getting hit gets you resistance, which decreases further damage.
Same thing with water breathing.
That would be strength, however I'll look into that more
Looks really promising. I think it would be insanely cool if you could expand on the idea into enhancing mobs too. Imagine say a containment unit you store what ever mob in, then the fitness you gain you could transfer onto the mob. So if you have earned a strength 4, maybe a zombie you have in your containment unit you could transfer some 2 levels worth of it to it.
Or perhaps have the MyFit running on points instead of straight buffs and doing actions earns more points which you can use to increase your abilities (basically buy the buffs) and you can transfer points to mobs/people through said containment unit.
But that's simply my idea, be it stupid or not haha, continue with your mod how you see best, either way this is getting added to my modpack.
I would like to see the item give you the option to disable a potion effect when you choose. Like, when you put the item on, it opens a GUI like the Beacon and you can choose to apply certain effects and levels since it's really easy to grind Speed to ungodly levels.
Though I dont know if that's possible, it'd be really awesome.

You have a good idea. It definitely would take a while to implement a transfer system, and I don't think the containment unit would be necessary. I also don't want to add a shop to buy buffs, because I want people to earn the buff through what they do, so you have to run to get speed, not just jumping and making that into speed. The point system could be very interesting, however. I can't quite think of something right now, but that does sound really cool. Tell me if you have any other ideas for that. I'm glad that you like it and I'm excited to have it in your modpack!

Ok so I have an idea for points. Maybe you can use points to buy one-level buffs (i.e. water breathing or fire resistance). You could buy, for example, water breathing for x amount of points and have that added to the MyFit's effects, and you would have it permanently (or not?).
Hmm, man this mod is great, but I would really love to see the MyFit item not take up the chestplate slot. If I played Vanilla minecraft, I would be A-OK with it doing this, but since I play in very heavily-modded minecraft, where the majority of armour sets do not give full benefits unless wearing the entire set, it is sometimes a give-or-take on whether or not I should wear my MyFit. I think the idea of you coding in a: " Maybe a MyFit slot somewhere. " would be a genius idea, and would certainly make me want to use it more. It's especially a problem with Blood Magic, because each piece of bound armour is useless on it's own (defense-wise) and ergo it is impossible to use both of these excellent mods at the same time.
Quite the conundrum, I'd say.
Also, you might want to ... spruce up the forum post a bit. (If possible) It's getting a lot of views lately, and I feel like a lot of people judge a mod (partially) on how well organized the post itself is.
But nonetheless, (once again) great mod, and I hope it's success continues.
MyFit
MyFit Extreme
600 jumps = 1 jump boost level
300 mob kills = 1 strength level
1000 half-hearts of damage taken = 1 resistance level

MyFit Extreme
2000m swum = 1 depth striding (potion effect) level
2 hours underwater = Water Breathing
1 hour 40 min in fire = Fire Resistance

1. Yes, right now there is no cap on the effect level. I should probably add that, and you will be able to change that in the config.
2. It should be, but I will check
3. No, they are based on statistics, which persist through death
4. That is a very good idea, and will be in the next update
Thanks for the input I will definitely try to make those changes for the next update. Glad you like it!
Glad you like it! What do you mean by expanding the functionality of this?
