I'm attempting to recreate Metallurgy 4 in 1.8.9 as a Loot++ addon, and I've ran into a bit of a problem. I tried adding copper as a test to see how well everything would work, and everything so far seems to work, except for the fact that my blocks drop 1-3 of the block when mined, instead of just 1. I tested using the copper pick I added.
I tried adding another -1 to the end but that just resulted in 3 blocks every time. I'm not sure what's going on now, as everything looks correct as far as I can tell.

I ran into this problem when adding ores as well. Loot++ makes the block drop itself by default. Your line,
adds a second drop of copper ore, so with the default drop added by Loot++ when you create the block, you are getting 2 drops. (I'm not sure where your 3rd block drop is coming from, though.)
I solved this problem by removing the block drop in the remove section, and then adding my own as you did above. So in addition to what you have for the block drop additions, you would add this to the "remove" section:

Actually there is a bug in the 1.8.9 version causing double block drops... I'm in the middle of fixing it right now (and figuring out why the recipes aren't working).
But yeah, LavaSlayer is right. You don't need to add drops for those; those will drop the block by default. You only need to add drops if the block drops something like, say, a gemstone (something besides the block itself). Then you would have to remove the defaults and add those.
Hmm, no, there is no block facing a certain direction besides the furnace.
I was asking if in a future version you might allow decorative blocks which have facing variants like these without any particular behaviour like smelting or dispensing (from assets/minecraft/blockstates/dispenser.json):

I'm curious... are we allowed to distribute our own loot++ addons elsewhere on the forums/curseforge?
Yep. You can post it as a mod here, and actually I think curseforge just added a section for "Customization" here, which is for addons and such which don't use code, which would be perfect for this.
Also Update! I fixed the bow AI to work with thrown items and bows that shoot thrown items.
In the 1.8 versions, I also fixed recipes sometimes not working, and in 1.8.9 I fixed double block drops.
If you find any more problems, please don't hesitate to tell me. =)
I have been trying to add a meat drop to Silverfish, yet, while I have been able to add the meat in, and let it be able to be cooked, I have been having troubles attempting to get Silverfish to DROP the meat, here's the config I'm trying to use for it
Unfortunately, I tried adding 1 weapon to the Ruby Obsession add-on and I failed.
Here is what I did:
I did everything in the Ruby Obsession add-on folder.
1) Added a Json file in models/item.
2) Added a custom picture to textures/items
3) Added a line to config/item_additions/swords.txt
But when I start up, it says the item does not exist. Am I forgetting something?
What is the message exactly? What material are you using for it? If you're using something other than the rubys from ruby obsession or a vanilla material you will have to add it to the materials section first.

What is the problem? That does look good at first glance. Are you seeing errors when you start the game?
No errors on game startup, it just doesn't do anything.
Would the fact I have Special Mobs change anything? It seems to be the only mod that WOULD change even a single thing about the silverfish, even though it, as far as I know, just adds size varients, and some other types of silverfish.
I also have Minetweaker, which, I don't even use for anything, so, I might remove it.

Oh yep. Special mobs changes things. The silverfish in it are actually different entities since they have different ids from the vanilla one (the vanilla one gets replaced when it spawns). Go in the config/Loot++/IDs/Entity IDs.txt file and search for SpecialMobs or Silverfish to find their ids. You can then add the drop for all of those.

YOU HAVE SAVED ME GOOD SIR! It is working wonderfully now, and I can feast upon the flesh of roach now!
Also, thank you for this amazing mod, along with actually helping people use some of it's functions! It gives me a reason to be lazy and not become a modder myself!
Is there a chance that the food additions from this mod conflict at all with AppleCore?
Saturations given by eating seem to be completely random. I have two different foods set to a saturation value of 0.5 in the configs for item additions, but they give completely different saturations. One gives three times as much saturation as the other.
I've never been able to see food saturations before using AppleCore, so it could just be a conflict.
I'm sorry, but when making food, I have not been able to find a SINGLE explanation on how to use the potion effects! Care to provide an explaination to this system?
Question: How do the configurable spawn eggs work / how can i configure them ?
same question here. would like at least a table showing how to easily color the eggs. right now the ones I have are all the same color as "Spawn Bob" from Lucky Block Spiral... which doesn't look too good considering the mob coming out of the egg is a Blaze
I feel like maybe the text files for configuring entity drops in an external addon file are swapped in function.
I put these entries into the ADDING file, not the removing one, but the "problems.txt" says otherwise:
The following problems were encountered while loading the config files:
entity_drops.cfg 'removing' #1: Entry had wrong number of parts: 'EnderZoo.ConcussionCreeper-0.2-true-true'.
entity_drops.cfg 'removing' #2: Entry had wrong number of parts: 'EnderZoo.Enderminy-0.2-true-true'.

Just trying to add some Reliquary mob drops to some mobs from other mods. The format should be correct, and I was stumped on what could be wrong until I noticed it said it was 'removing' instead of 'adding'.
Here's what I have in the adding.txt file(the removing.txt file is completely blank in comparison)
Give me your email address, I'll just send the file to you. If you don't like to post your email at here, just send it with my private message.
EDIT: Never mind, I solved the problem. It was just a typo while I was typing the name of the png file. Sorry, but thanks anyways to your advises!

I noticed there's no way to add a block with a facing direction (like a dropper or dispenser). The closest you have is pillars (like logs).
Could you add this? I'd like to make an eye block that actually looks in a particular direction.

Turns out I'm just dumb. I accidentally put the .png filename as "material".

Suggestion: A possibility to add mob's NBT data when they spawn (equipment, health, damage, etc.) - Similar to FatherToast's MobProperties
