This mod is amazing! Its all steampunk and clockwork, i love it!
What are the permissions exactly for modpacks/addons, or something like Luckyblocks?
will they be the same when 1.8 is released? 1.8 is going to be released, right? just checking.
I'd bet on 1.9 since modders seem to be transitioning towards that.

Thanks, glad you like it! I will pretty much always allow my mods to be used in modpacks. As far as luckyblocks and addons-mods go, I can't guarantee they'll work properly, but you're welcome to create them. For using other people's add-ons, you'd have to ask them.
Clockwork Phase won't be updated past 1.7 unfortunately. I am developing Clockwork Phase 2 for 1.8 though. At this point it's a very different mod altogether, but there's plenty of new stuff to look forward to:

Really? Hadn't heard, though i know that updating and/or downgrading to 1.9 from 1.8 is supposed to be much easier than the 1.7.10 -1.8 updates. So i'd be OK with a 1.9 release too i hope it's soon, it would be cool to use this for some steampunk- or clockwork themed community projects like modpacks or lucky blocks. because why not lucky blocks.

There's a recommended forge version for 1.9 now, so unless consumers are waiting for mods like Thaumcraft and Intangible (like me) I see a mass transition to 1.9 happening soon. On a different note, I'm loving the Celestial Compass. Does it give anyone else a sort of Kingdom Hearts vibe? Either way it'll be the floor to the center of my magical base once again!

I've been hearing that a lot lately. I might end up skipping to it, depending on how quickly other mods update.
The first post itself was always the tutorial; I don't recall there ever being an external mini-wiki.
Well I recalled one that at least told what each Hourglass did when tuned to an element. Someone did a book for Enchiriodon 2, does that exist somewhere on your harddrive, Luma?

Well unfortunately I don't seem to have any such file saved anywhere, but the first post of this thread should have all the basic information, such as:
Aside from supplying time sand to other tools, the chronomancer's hourglasses have special abilities of their own. Each hourglass can be elementized into another one on the celestial compass and has it's own unique effect. Hourglasses also count as clockwork constructs and (most of them) change their effect's power based on the clockwork speed while costing tension from a mainspring.
Life - Regeneration effect.
Light - Automatically place lights when standing in a dark area.
Water - Water breathing and buffs while wet.
Earth - Walk on the air at the same height you started.
Air - Fly forward.
Fire - Fire resistance and buffs while on fire.
Lunar - Anti-inertia (a better term for this might be "motion-repetition." Best with some other form of movement, like a TiCo lunging sword)
Death - Extreme strength boost...at a cost...
Just curious, but whats the best combination of Memory items and gears and such, to obtain the best tools? Like a pickaxe, for example. By using a bunch of diamond gears i was able to get 'chance of getting time sand 1 in 1' but now that i have enough nuggets, i wanted it faster. How would i make it as fast as possible? sorry if there's an explanation for this in the tuts on the first page, i just sorta skimmed 'em over.

Emerald is better than diamond in terms of speed, but you'll also be winding the tools up more frequently. It really depends on your play style.
After reading some of the suggestions on this thread (and the FTB forum one) regarding time-stops or odd timey-wimey effects I have one question: Is this mod okay for server play? Will any of the effects cause global changes that might affect other players?

Very few of those suggestions were actually implemented. As far as I can recall, there's nothing that changes any global variables.
Is this mod dead? If not, is it simply going to stay on 1.7.10 forever?

I hope someday there's more magic in Minecraft, though I know it's not likely to happen. In the meantime, I play modded a lot. I enjoy a lot of other games too, so don't expect me to be on the forums all the time.
I guess you could call it dead, I'm no longer working on this mod.
K, I'll deal. Thanks for the response though.

Now look, buddy. I'm an Engineer. That means I solve problems. Not problems like 'what is beauty', because that would fall within the purview of your conundrums of philosophy. I solve practical problems. Like, how am I going to stop some big, mean mother-hubbard from tearing me a structurally superfluous new behind? The answer: Use a gun. And if that don't work: Use more gun. Like this heavy-caliber, tripod-mounted little ol' number designed by me. Built by me. And you'd best hope, not pointed at you.
Out of curiosity, do you mind if a friend of mine takes good and useful parts from this mod, to essentially bring it to 1.10.2, since you are not working on it anymore? This mod is perhaps my absolute most favorite mod, and I miss being able to play it. My friend is a mod developer as well, and is the author of Primal Core, and is also working on a magic mod of his own.

Lumaceon, what happened to that webpage that was on hte front page that showed a mini-wiki.

I think there was one of those in Attonement if that's what you're referring to: http://minecraft.curseforge.com/projects/atonement-sins-of-the-past
If there was, it ain't there now. I checked.

Back on page 5 of this thread there was a discussion of being able to enchant the tools; did anything come of that?
