Made a video for you to show that I have to tell voxelmap what world I'm in every time I change a world. It's really annoying and tedious for those with a lot of worlds.
if the world has changed enough since the last time you visited, that will happen. No way around it. If you want to completely remove the notification that it is an unknown world, you'll end up with maps jumbled and mixed up with each other. If you are fine with that the technical solution is to ignore the text message until it goes away in a few seconds.
If the worlds haven't changed that much there is the possibility that the behavior is slightly buggy. The map checks loaded chunks against stored chunks for all known worlds. It doesn't wait forever to receive chunks for the new world. If it takes too long for chunks to come in, it is possible that it has no chunks to work with. That would be a network issue, and perhaps something that could be worked around (increase the amount of time the mod waits to receive chunks). Looking at the vid though they are coming in pretty fast so I doubt that is it. If you've got a server address where I could go to check it out PM me and I can take a look at it
Throwing things at the wall to see what sticks: the matching process happens in a separate thread from everything else. How many cores does your CPU have? It could be that with few enough cores, the matching thread doesn't have high enough priority to actually execute before the "unknown world" message fires. If it's something like that the matching thread could be given higher priority, though there could be some fun there if it starves the main thread (that is actually receiving the chunks it's supposed to be comparing haha)
And a final possibility for me to rule out: which version of the map are you using? The automatic recognition was added later (though, IIRC it was added well before the message about unknown world popping up, so I am mostly sure you do not have a version that is too out of date to automatically detect which world you are in)
it works on realms sometimes. As soon as realms updates and requires a newer client version than the most recent version with a Liteloader release, it doesn't. At the moment, it does not.
not surprised 1.2.3 would work. That was before the world map. Whatever you are running into has to do with that. The first one that crashes is probably the first one with the world map. Still can't replicate here though, including with some pretty big (2000x2000) worlds. As always, if you have a particular world that is causing issues for you I wouldn't mind having a look at it. I know it's a lot to upload, but I can't create the issue myself
I can give you one: wait patiently until the Minecraft Coder Pack updates to 1.9. After this Liteloader has to update to 1.9. After that Voxelmap can start being updated to 1.9.
Until then. MamiyaOtaru can not possibly do so.
And even then, it is against the forumrules to ask him for a release date/deadline. It's their hobby, so mod-devs can take as much time as they want and/or need.
wow, a bit jumpy? it was just a simple question. i wasn't demanding a deadline.
while we're talking about forum rules, how about this one: be nice and polite
@MamiyaOtaru - if you need help with development, let me know.
Why do I only get litemod downloads? Whenever I try to update, it gives me a litemod, not the mod itself. But I'm not used to litemods so is it just a smaller mod?
Reset out survival world to 1.9 and voxelmap doesn't work obviously. Been checking here almost every day. Never realized how much I've come to rely on it as an admin. I feel blind without it.
A litemod is a Liteloader mod. This is something else than Forge mods.
This mod (Voxelmap) is a Liteloader mod.
Lucky for you, Liteloader is compatible with Forge.
How to use this with Forge:
1. Download and install Forge.
2. Download and install Liteloader (select the Forge profile for this)
3. Put Voxelmap.litemod in your mods folder.
4. Enjoy.
hi. it is clear and obvious.
but what i have to do in case LiteLoader Installer doesn't offer to alter Forge version?
Look:
Did you already install Forge on Minecraft 1.8? And does this Forge work with the Forge mods you are using?
If you did and it does, could you see if marking the "Show incompatible versions (dangerous) option makes it show up as an option?
I'm pretty sure that Liteloader works with Forge on MC 1.7.10 though.
i did. you can see this on the screenshot. and Forge loads latest Optifine.
i know that LiteLoader works with Forge 1.7.10 because i have such configuration. but in some unknown reason i cannot make working 1.8.9.

Sigh I miss using this. It was great to just download this and not worry about liteloader or forge or anything. Looks like liteloader is dead or something. I dont know why mojang will not use a minimap or waypoints.

Liteloader is not dead. Mumfrey simply hasn't updated yet. His last post was only 3 days ago, so he's certainly still active.

This might be a stupid question but:
Does this minimap work on Realms?
Because I heard Realms doesn't support mods AT ALL, and I REALLY need a minimap for it!
it works on realms sometimes. As soon as realms updates and requires a newer client version than the most recent version with a Liteloader release, it doesn't. At the moment, it does not.
any time table for 1.9?

is there a 1.8 liteloader for voxelmap?
i cliked the link but it was just for forge

A suggestion:Search waypoint.
I'm playing GT now,and I create a lot of waypoint...
Sometime I can't find what I need on the map directly...
Can you add a search bar to this mod?
I noticed that it has not been mentioned here, but there is no toggle for dogs on radar. I would hope there should be a fix for this.
Minecraft just updated to 1.9, is there going to be an update for this?

Liteloader 1.8.9 , no mods for it
http://jenkins.liteloader.com/view/1.8.9/job/LiteLoaderInstaller 1.8.9/
1.8.9 released. get it here http://minecraft.curseforge.com/projects/voxelmap/files
requires liteloader for 1.8.9. Like soccerguy said,
WOW! thanks!
VoxelMap is the best map mod in Minecraft!
