The steam tools run out of steam too fast. I cant explore with them. What you think of a steam portable container/battery for tools? Like some type of cylinder or can that is interchangeable between tools. Like if you could charge 3 or 4 of them and carry them in the inventory with you and when you come back home you could refill them. You could make the cylinders with a lower steam quantity than the tools currently have.
There will not be a portable steam charger thing. Instead, with the modular tools stuff, you will be able to give steam tools the same tanks you can give your exosuit. That should be plenty.

May I request a compatibility with Rotarycraft for the Addition of Bedrock Plates (Would require permission from Reika to make such an addition though).

I'll talk to him about it.

FIX: (dmillerw) Fixed null Yeti Hide recipe. This fixes a crash bug with the Esteemed Innovation and stops Hardcore Ender Expansion from complaining (issue #146 and issue #145)
FIX: Steam Heater and Exosuits no longer get their icons server-side.
FIX: Fixed variable names in all classes. This doesn't change anything in-game or from a user POV, but for people working on the mod, and for people wanting to learn from it, this is very helpful. This includes p_######_#_, some wrongly named variables (tileentitysteamcharger set to TileEntitySteamHammer), and some more descriptive variables (World var1, int var2 -> World world, int meta in createTileEntitymethods).
FIX: Added @Override annotation in a lot of classes. This doesn't really change much, but will make it easier to port to newer versions of Forge, and might prevent some errors.
FIX: Got rid of commented out WAILA integration, because WAILA Integration mod has support for FSP.
FIX: Got rid of derpy code I wrote when doing some rendering stuff with the Steam Filler; it now uses the old code that Flax (or someone) wrote ages ago. This should fix some rendering issues.
FIX: Capitalization in config file.
FIX: Monacle -> Monocle in config file and key bind screen.

No one really needs to ask permission to use the mod, or use it in a modpack. I'm not sure why they do anyway

I love this mod! I'm currently creating a modpack named "Boiling Innovation" and I'm using this alongside Thaumcraft as my main mod. How about a way to weaponize the mortar and maybe even adding a way to control the aiming without the astrolabe? Framez ships battles with steam mortar cannons

Fully enjoying this mod. I'm really enjoying how it fleshes out steam rather than treat it as another fluid like some other mods do.
Also, suggestion: Steam-powered machine guns. There's a story of how back in the American Civil War, the Confederates built a steam-powered machine gun that was more or less a stationary turret that propelled balls of metal at a target. FSP could feature something similar to the cannon from Balkon's WeaponMod, i.e. a stationary turret powered by steam that, when mounted and aimed, would rapidly fire metal nuggets when used. I'm sure the mod's version would feature a different design than the one the Confederates used as it was SEVERELY unreliable. And just looked weird.
Also, it could be miniaturized and made portable as a minigun, perhaps one similar to the Brass Beast from Team Fortress 2. Like the stationary version, it would need to be preloaded with metal nuggets and like the other steam tools in FSP, it would need to be filled with steam and spun up first. More spin increases fire rate, but the weight of the weapon combined with the force of it's firepower would slow the player's movement dramatically just like a minigun would in TF2.
However, due to the complexity of the device, physical upgrades would not be possible. Instead, the weapon's output could be augmented by giving different metal nuggets different properties when used as ammo, similar to how different exosuit plates have different bonuses. Like, the weight of lead nuggets would cause more damage due to momentum, but would also create a decrease in range.

24 hours gone again, wasted in futility, welcome to minecraft modding, that is (unfortunately) our community.

i keep making the same mistake, i think "oh, i've given them a few months, surely it'll be fixed by now" THAT is why i seem to ALWAYS be angry to some of you, my advice is to get the lead out.
there were nice things here, until the mod author threw a tantrum.
Not my fault. Blame the forums. It says at the top of the thread "Some links are broken, see the bottom of the post for them". Do that.
alright then, i found the working ones, just thought to mention it so you could re-write the OP and fix it.

I have reported this to the people in #minecraftforums on espernet. Hopefully they'll fix it. The problem is the URL BBCode automatically adds "http://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/mapping-and-modding/minecraft-mods/" before links, and then wraps the link you actually want to use with apostrophes.
TWEAK: Brass Knuckles are now disabled by default, because they can be seen as going against the theme of the mod. If you already have them in your world, please make sure to enable this.
TWEAK: Nerfed Brass Knuckles damage and recipe
FIX: Hurt animation no longer called if the world is a server world. This should fix a NoSuchMethodError crash on servers. My computer is not powerful enough to test a modded server and client running at the same time, so if the issue persists please tell me. (issue #157)
FIX: Brass Knuckles recipe should now work with the Power Fist on the bottom row.
FIX: IC2 Canned Food recipes now input and output a balanced amount of cans (issue #152)
