I had found your website on Skydaz's installer for Fans.
I have let him know about the site being abandoned and mention this forum post to him as the new link.
I'm not sure how I would add configurability. Right now the crates are just combinations of random loot, like random pickaxe, random food, random helmet, etc..
The next update is going to add some weapons from TF2, I might add all TF2 weapons in the future.
As for iChun's mod, I'll look into his mod to see if there is any API for it.
I'll generate a config for the rarity of crate/key drops from mobs.
Finally, every possible loot that's listed on the crate has the same chance of spawning.
You can smelt 1 reclaimed into 2 reclaimed, I think you meant to put the refined instead of the reclaimed, so 1 refined turns into 2 reclaimed.
Stop treating mod devs poorly. These people mod as a hobby or as a service to the community, they don't have to take your suggestion and you are not entitled to anything from them.
New version will be released in a couple of hours. It will fix the smelting bug, add a configuration file, add some melee weapons from TF2, and of course, more crates.

Here, have a few to go off
Sharpened Obsidian Fragment, Coaljack, Emerald Gardener, Equalminer, Escape Pick, Axtinguisher can keep its name because I ain't got nothing better xD
Also, if the Sharpened Fragment is gonna light stuff on fire, it should do like 6 damage instead, because 8 is op. Axtinguisher should do 7 though. Also, you should add the Kunai and the Tribalmans shiv next, also the Amputator, heals things instead of damaging them (Works as a thrown healing potion, so it will damage zombies) [Tribalman's shiv giving wither for 6 seconds, also to minecraftify its name, 'Enderman's Shiv']

YOU ARE AN INCREDIBLE CODER! All of this stuff works LIKE A CHARM! All of their functions work great, it all fits in with minecraft and doesn't change the experience too much, I have NO reason to hate it! It's perfect in every way! You can even do stuff with MODDED ITEMS!!
You're my favorite modder.
Edit: If you're going to add every TF2 item, you should add a config option to disable some of them. There are some tf2 items I would NOT like to see in minecraft, rocket launcher and flamethrower for example.
Oh and also it doesn't look like I can make scrap anymore :?
I'm experiencing all sorts of bugs related to the anvil, it keeps changing my iron and gold into a different iron and gold? So they no longer stack? I dunno how to explain it, but say i have a stack of iron, i put 1 iron in, take it out, it no longer fits in the stack i took it from. I think you should make Scrap a crafting recipe, instead of the anvil. But only the scrap, not the reclaimed etc.

But what materials would the fans be made of then?
About the guns, I'm planning on adding them after adding all of the melee weapons I can, but I'll be sure to add a config to not generate them.

Finally the anvil, I'll be changing the recipe to scrap due to technical difficulties in the anvil.

And finally, one last bug, you should make scrap, reclaimed and refined only stack to 1, because if you put 4 scrap into an anvil, you'll only get 1 reclaimed, visa versa. It consumes the entire stack.

Thanks for the new recipes image, but I've made the decision to move all of the scrap recipes to the crafting table. The anvil system is very strange in my opinion.
