At first i want say, that this mod is great Ans i have a question, how to make highter excrete production by cows? I must increase or decrease excrete ratio?
Oh one more, cows eats grass block or grass that i can destroy to get seeds?
Help my 4 cows and 6 chickens die from starving, but they dont eat grass. I have that grass in my cowshed:
I forgot, i play on a my dedicated server.
EDIT: Ok animals dont eat custom grass from other mod, they eat only vanillia grass. Can i add somehow custom grass to eating list?
Q how to make highter excrete production by cows?
A
1) Change config settings. : Raise up the "Excretion Constant" of cow.
2) If possible, make cows move : They excrete as they use energy.
3) Prevent excreta loss : Excreta dissolves fast on grass, dirt, sand. Chang the floor to stone.
Q cows eats grass block or grass that i can destroy to get seeds?
A
They eat the block called 'tall grass'. This is the one that you get seeds.

Cow may eat custom grass from other mod. That depends on code. You can add block-shaped food to eating list. only item food could be. However if you take out the roof of you pen, grass will naturally grow on grass blocks. Furthermore cows can eat other items like sugar cane or wheat. Put those item onto the food box
I'm using Forge Version 10.13.2.1236 and about the 'weird' excreta image I got the 'excreta' from the Creative tab and it looks like this Because this is not the first time I used this mod the last time it worked great without these problems.Other than that Great mod ! (P.S. I am using Optifine HD B4

Can you add in configs to slow things down please? Grass spawn at a surprising speed. Animals get hungry very fast, and eat alot. Excreta compost into manure within a day, and manure simply disappear minutes later.
Our game experience (private smp) is suffering from this, so I've temporally had to remove the mod.
Could we see a config option to slow things down alot? Hunger speed/rate cut in two? Grass spawning at 1/4 the speed? Excreta needing 4x the time to compost, and manure staying for another 4 or more days?
Can't wait for the new mob AI that will be implemented. Hopefully, mobs will run away from players like how ocelots do. I'm also wondering how the AI will affect tamed mobs? Are your cows going to run away from you too? Honestly, what I would really love for you to try to implement is the chicken flight/jump height! Wild chickens will jump a fence any day, but minecraft chickens fail to jump over a small wooden fence. Can you please make chickens able to jump up 3-7 blocks and increase all the mobs run speed? That's how I would see making hunting harder.

Except, grass growing speed. yes you can. For grass, why don't you use herbicide?
D:"Erosion Probability"=0.1 // disappearing speed of excreta on unfertilizable block. (probability each block tick)
D:"Fermentation Probability"=0.25 // composting speed of excreta, (probability each block tick)
D:"Fertilization Probability"=0.5 // disappearing speed of excreta on fertilizable block(grass, dirt, sand). (probability each block tick)
I'm now working on the AI. Before this, I firstly fixed some bugs and balances. I expect wild animals' population would be decreased. Okay, in 1.0.4.1 update, new AI will be appear. Animals have 'tamedValue' and this determine animals' behavior. They could run away from player whether you attack them or get close to them. At first you can not feed them. Just put the food on the ground. Every time they eat fallen food, they will be tamed. Then They will follow people with food, and would not run away.
wow, what a neat idea. I was expecting you to replicate the taming of ocelots where players would have to sneak up to the ocelots holding a fish. Hey, just wondering, when you throw a wheat item on the ground to tame a wild cow or sheep, would that automatically attract all the cows and sheeps in that area? Also, would the player have to be absent or hide from animals for animals to come close to the food item and finally eat it? Would one food item convert the wild beast into a tamed one, or would it require a certain amount before a wild animal gives in and converts into the tamed version? I am asking this because if you throw one wheat and it attracts all the cows and sheeps, than you can easily trap all the animals in a hole easily- infact, it would be the same as the animals never had an AI update, except they take fallen food instead of held food items. So many questions, so little time...
Do you think it'd be possible to add more animal's to the mod? Say Mo's Creatures? I'm debating if I want more animal's or less on my server pack and found this mod to be a great gem, that I found by accident xD. My debate is to have one set of animals over power the other by having the normal mobs constricted to the rules of this mod. I would love to force all animal types to be under these constraints.

The 'tamedValue' affects animals' behavior.
At first, not all the animals are attracted by a fallen food. 1) They will be attracted randomly(The probability is proportional to tamedValue). 2) Their follow-range will be proportional to tamedValue.
Secondly, They will be ran away from you when you get close to them to drop item(You should hide from all animals around)
Finally, only one food can't tame an animal perfectly. They are also tamed slowly to neutrality level when just player is near.
Taming level is divided into 3 stage :
Exclusion(-1~)
- wild animals are basically in this stage, and tamed animals can reach this state when attacked.
- run away from player. sometimes eat(follow) fallen food. can break lead.
(- counterattack player. will be added later... )
Neutrality(0)
- can reach this stage getting near to animals and also food.
- do not run away from player, usually eat(follow) fallen food.
Trust(~1)
- can reach this stage only with feeding food.
- you can feed them by right clicking and follow held food. always eat(follow) fallen food.
Awesome, just what I expected. And what is this I see "counterattack player", Wow, didn't expect that at all. This is gonna be so fun. Can you imagine being attacked by a flock of chickens? Hahahaha, can't wait for your update.
Oh, what would cause the counterattack? Hitting them or taking the fallen food from them when they get close? Also, if a chicken is attacked, will the whole flock team up against you like minecraft wolves? Will all the vanilla mobs have this counterattack ability? So many questions, so little time...

That will be decided by gene... This will be very far. Gene will determine various things of animals. (growth speed, propensity(run away or counter attack, love people or not), physical ability, digestion ability, immunity... even their appearance)
appearance? sounds like you're gonna remodel or retexure some of the existing mobs then? Pretty soon, this mod might not be about hungry animals any more and more focused on genetics. Actually, the sub-name you have might be a better name for this mod in the future:
can you make the grass not coming extremely wild ?
took 2 minecraft days ... and i dont see normal minecraft again
It's possible to configure grass growth in the world. However grass is the only food for wild animals. Also you can use herbicide to prevent to grow. I will try to reduce grass growth and also keep wild animals alive. Thank you for your report.

New Taming System is developed.
Untamed animals run away.

for chisel in survival mode, keep clicking as you break a block with pickaxe. :
Chiseled stone will be useful in the future. I'm currently working on animals.
(will be used to make mill stone. The animal-powered mill stone)
