Simplest is not always practical. No sense bloating things up with making multiple copies of the same texture. That's a bit silly and most certainly redundant. The modder stated that he made it so you can declare textures from mods. Just asking for clarification on how to do that with DDB. But I'm starting to think we're not gonna get that clarification. LoL.
I think that is not possible to use textures from other ddb projects/packs yet. I tried many combinations of "ddb", pack name, texture name, with ":" and "_"
Using textures from MC resource pack is possible - for example "minecraft:diamond_block".

It supposed to work that way, ddb:{pack_name}_{block_name}, but I haven't tested it. The current state of my dev environment doesn't allow me to test it right now either. And to be honnest, the launch of The Division won't speed things up

I found problem with placing slabs to upper half of the "place". When I target cursor to side of placed slab, there is filled lower part of previously placed slab instead slab nearby. Until next click placed slab to the right place - but previous slab is changed to full block. See pics.

Well, it's not working, and on second thought, I think it's better that way.
There are two reason for that :
- You shouldn't really be making multiple DDB packs with the same texture. There no real advantage on doing that.
- You can't guarantee that the other DDB pack you're using textures from will be present at runtime.
If you still want to keep separated packs with the same texture, you will have to copy the file in each pack, but keep in mind that it will increase the memory used as they will be considered different and be loaded separatedly.
I copied it exactly, its the same as the first one in the main post, the "rock" one, its the same.
The JSON part in the image doesn't work on its own.
For the JSON to be valid, it needs to be between { }. Also, the last comma needs to be there only if something else is present after. If it's the last element in the list, you have to remove the comma.

Well that's disappointing for sure. If you didn't know how to fix it, you could have just said so.
There are multiple reasons why it's not better this way. But the main one is that since the item names for colored blocks is broken, we're forced to declare each colored item separately. This makes for a VERY long json file if you have a few different items that are colored. Say I have 3 textures that i want to color. That's 16 x 3 declarations I have to make for blocks. Now say I want to take those 48 blocks and make stairs out of them. That's another 48 items in that json file. Slabs? Another 48. By the time you are done you have a json file that's hard to navigate, especially considering 3 base textures is only the tip of the iceberg, there's obviously going to be more than that. Hence the strong desire for separate packs. Since our server requires the client to have the same mods (and we created an automatic updater for folks when we make changes), yes we can pretty much guarantee the textures will be there from other packs.
Hopefully some day you reconsider and figure out a way to fix it. Along with fixing the Door Factory and Block Mixer. Those would be nice to use without removing Optifine every time too.
Look at the picture.
If new glass pane block (left side) is next solid block, they are connected.
If instead of solid block is glass block, they aren't conected.
"Old" glass pane blocks (right side) are conected in both cases.
I've been trying for the past couple of hours to get five simple regular blocks to work, and while they only threw me errors (all the same, they're included) once or twice because of simple mistakes, I cannot get them to appear at all.
Following is the .json for them, it would be brilliant if I could get some help
I'm using the 1.7.10 version of this, with malisis core 14.3 for 1.7.10.
I tried someones attached "Colored bricks" and it worked perfectly fine, but for the life of me I cannot get this to work for my own, am I doing something wrong?

Question about "material":
Can I set the "stinging", loss of live (as is in cactus) for added block?
I tried "material" = "cactus" - without success.
It's not in the mod, and not really planned either.
