I'm having a problem. I have my smeltery set up perfectly, yet I can't get my alloys to flow out the drain, out the faucet, into the casting table with my wooden pickaxe head and wooden binding. When I put my tool rod in it just made into a wooden bolt. I'm so confused!

You need to make a cast with gold/alluminum brass before you can make a tool out of any type of metal.
What would happen if you pour glowing hot metal over a wooden tool part?
Make clay toolpart casts (using wood/stone toolparts as a mould?) and then pour the glowing hot metal in those instead.
You can also make toolpart casts out of aluminium brass (if there's aluminium and copper in your modpack) or gold.
Speaking of which, can you smelt those golden casts back into gold ingots again?
Ya I know, but this minecraft were talking about. A game where most normal things don't come into play . Anyways I watched a tutorial and that's what he did and it worked.
Still the question about re-using your gold casts on mc 1.8+ remains.
I'm unable to resmelt my gold casts in 1.10.2, probably because Brass and Gold are the same type of cast, even if you don't have Base Metals or Substratum.
Before you post something on the Tinkers' Construct thread... please read this.
If you have a crash log, READ it before posting it (and if you do, use spoilers). Some stuff should be obvious to where it comes from. Try reproducing the same thing with only Tinkers' Construct or Mantle on vanilla Forge (please do make sure that you're using the latest TiC and Mantle versions). If it still does happen, report it to the issue tracker (Yes, you have to sign up... but it's not that hard).
Last but not least, please do not ask for unsupported versions (1.7.10, 1.8.9) or ask for non-existent ones (1.8)!
This should be a feature request then. Just let them return 7 or 8 nuggets though, so there still is some loss
Considering zombie pigmen spawn occasionally on one side of a portal in the overworld, I might use one portal to travel, and one as a zombie pigmen spawner running into an xp farm, so I can farm gold nuggets, ingots and swords. Easy gold for casts. If MFR could update to 1.10.2, then I could also use a Sludge Boiler to get sand, gravel and clay blocks, for easy grout and seared bricks. Makes TiCon easier than ever.

Large drawdown fps on page JEI, where tools and weapons - 3-5fps, in game - over 90.
It seems you're having similar issues such as this. Try leaving a message there.

For actual issues, I go to Github.
Once I have formulated a feature request I go to Github.
If I have a simple question though, I ask it here.
That being said, I think this might make you end up with useless duplicates of casts that you will never use and just end up throwing away. This is why I like being able to re-smelt left-over toolparts (ITT functionality though?).
Vanilla Minecraft barely has any items that you only need one of and that can not somehow be used in some other way or uncrafted. You can even use crafting tables as fuel . In that regard I'd say that making the casts be an end-product with no way to re-use them, would be an un-Minecraft-like waste.
It's the same with the Applied Energistics Inscriber Presses. However in that case you will randomly end up with a few duplicates, instead of by making a mistake yourself.
As far as I know, you can surround any metal cast with obsidian to get the 'reinforced' modifier thingy.
I've been thinking that Chakrams(Disc Boomerangs) would be a great addition to this mod. I suppose they'd act like Boomerangs, and fly back to the player after reaching a certain distance or bounce after hitting a surface or mob.
Also thinking using light materials would have less damage but a higher velocity while heavier materials deal more damage, knockback but have decreased velocity.

Redstone Upgrade would increase velocity.
Magnetic Trait would allow it to pick up items.
No more tools need to be added. Other mods already fulfill this purpose (Botania, ExU2 boomerang etc.)

You don't alloy in it. It's a basically a large furnace that uses lava, can smelt 16 items per slot, and has multiple slots.

Since they were talking about bolts, I assume they were using the 1.7.10 version

I believe you can melt them down in the Smeltery, just like in 1.7.

Nope. I suggest you try the newer version instead of assuming incorrect information about it
No, you cannot melt down casts in the Smeltery in the newer versions. This is intentional.

Any plans on bringing back the longbow and/or shortbow?
