oooh ok I didnt realise that was a thing thanks
Is Climbing Gloves modifier still disabled? Any plans regarding it?
I'm having one problem, it's that the Molten Aluminum Brass in 1.8.4a has no localized name. I'm going to change that for my downloaded file, but please fix this.
I just took the Minecraft Noob test! Check out what I scored. Think you can beat me?!

Does this mean my excavator will have stonebound II even though it just says stonebound? Also, will I still get the stonebound effect if i have low durability but high rf with the flux capacitor?
You should think about adding armor making. Not being able to pour molten metal from the smeltery into a helmet or chest cast, or maybe even modular armor components giving part bonuses like those from tools, is the only thing I feel is missing from this mod.
.
Well, I've been thinking about it for a while now.
Basic armor idea is a trade-off between protection and agility (represented as walking/swimming speed and mining fatigue/boost).
Tier 1 Studded Armor - Scale armor - Cuirass
Tier 2 Chainmail - Laminar armor - Carapace
Tier 1 armors can be made in Tool Station, Tier 2 require Tool Forge.
All armor parts contribute to protection and durability.
Stonebound trait gives movement speed bonus as armor loses durability, but lessens protection.
Armor recipes
In order to avoid adding new tool parts (seeing as pattern chest is quite full now), I used existing ones for the recipes.
Studded armor provides minor speed boost, but offers relatively little protection, similar to leather armor.
Chestplate: 2 leather, 2 small bindings (materials can differ)
Leggins: 2 leather, 1 binding
Boots: 1 leather, 1 binding
Helmet: 1 leather, 2 bindings
Scale armor provides no speed boost and more defense against projectiles, but is only marginally better against other types of attacks.
Chestplate: 2 tool rods, 2 bindings
Leggins: 2 tool rods, 1 binding
Boots: 1 tool rod, 1 binding
Helmet: 1 tool rod, 2 bindings
Cuirass
is a chestpiece roughly equivalent to vanilla iron armor. It provides
no bonuses and offers uniform protection from all attacks.
Recipe: 1 large plate, 1 tough binding
Chainmail
provides minor speed boost, and offers decent protection against melee
attacks. It's somewhat weaker against projectiles, though.
Chestplate: 4 bindings
Leggins: 3 bindings
Boots: 2 bindings
Helmet: 1 large plate, 2 bindings.
Laminar armor
provides good protection against both melee and projectiles. It's
roughly equivalent to unenchanted diamond armor, but slows down your
mining a bit.
Chestplate: 1 large plate, 2 tough rods, 1 tough binding
Leggins: 1 large plate, 1 tough rod, 2 tough bindings
Helmet: 1 large plate, 2 rods
Carapace armor
provides excellent protection against all types of attacks, including
fire, at the cost of speed. Movement speed reduction and mining fatigue
are applied when you're wearing it (possibly adding up the more pieces
you have equipped?).
Chestplate: 3 large plates, 1 tough binding
Leggins: 2 large plates, 2 tough bindings
Boots: 1 large plate, 2 tough bindings
Helmet: 2 large plates, 1 tough binding

they haven't collapsed.

You have aether II. Drop it, swim in lava for a bit, and it'll be fixed.
I hope a fix, not just a workaround is found for that issue. I'd like to use Aether II, but I'd rather not deal with the heart canister issue.
That's pretty crappy of them, especially if the team of the hexxit modpack revival gives Aether a look. Though I'm sure they already know of that problem given what was said.
the news of 1.8 Is some good news for me since in my fossils and archeology game I use a few of the hexxit mods.
Thanks for working on TiC. I really like where you're going. Just one suggestion. How about a travelers boots modifier for speed? Like redstone blocks and ice?
Looks good, Tinkers construct is one of my favorite mods and I'd be VERY sad to see it go. Great work on the new weaponry!
I have a little problem with the smeltery. I'm using Thermal Expansion 3 and one of the base ores is Ferrous ingots (Nickel by TiC). It usually comes as a byproduct of pulverizing iron ore into iron dust.
However, this doesn't happen in the smeltery. Using the smeltery directly makes me lose ferrous ingots which can be reblended with iron into invar, which is tier 2
Maybe make some compatibility? D:
Bug i found with Not Enough Items and Tinkers Construct. When you are in the smeltery controller (the liquidy smeltery) If you put your mouse on the fuel (lava) it turns everything on your NEI list on the right dark except lava, water, rails, saplings and a few other things stuff...
"avant garde">I'm an Enderman and I'm Amazing
I have the same glitch. And no optifine/shaders.
As for me, no shaders, latest Optifine. Dunno why it still does that.

That sucks. I guess that smelting iron would directly turn into invar but... Having to mow down into dust then smelt is annoying >-<
I'd have to re-smelt my ingots anyways.
What I wonder is, having multiple controllers? I was making a fort, with a huge smeltery in middle of it. My idea was to put controllers on each floor to keep track of any liquids in it, but they don't work D:
Hello I am having trouble with a bunch of mods i am using
when I installed tinkers construct and mantle I received the crash report below
I narrowed the problem down to railcraft but when minecraft loads up the text is either invisible or corrupt or something
if anyone knows what i can do I will gladly appreciate the help

I mean multiple controllers, on multiple floors in a single smeltery. Think of a tall tower. Now add a controller every 5 blocks. Only one takes control (the first one, I guess).
This can be annoying. Imagine you're at the top floor, your machinery is at the bottom, and you forgot that you have smelted iron and stuff. If you could access teh controller from the top, you would notice that. But you can't.
Then, later, you smelt some ferrous ingots (aka nickel) to make gears. Ferrous + iron = invar. Damn.
This happens in hurries ^
