If your computer really can't physically run Java 8, then your computer must struggle loading these forums as well.
If it does not, I am fairly certain that whatever problem you are having is software-related, not hardware-.
Here's a weird ongoing story: I often have more trouble with the forums than with the game itself. I've even recorded while playing and having the net open to look up something all at once and still had less trouble than simply having the forums up on their own. The Minecraft Forum is its own kind of beast.

So, I am playing 1.8.9 and the ranged weapons are all gone.
Darn it! They were literally 30% of the TConstruct mod. As far as I understood it, there was simply no time to add them to that version of the mod and yadda.
I only hope they return eventually. Without my crossbow and shuriken I feel .... weaker. MUCH weaker. Why is there even any stress at all?
The new versions came out too fast? Perfecting the 1.7.10 one took long? Catching up?
I can only hope that these problems will settle over time.

As I tested around with render distance 2 I had a constant 60-70
Is the game keeping every last block till bedrock loaded and running?!
And uninstalling optifine gives me another constant: 10-15 fps with ocasional drop below 10. Not good either. I can get along with 20-25 easily. But what is wrong? I had it on 1.7.10 with TWICE THE MODS and about thrice the size and it worked better without optifine....
I quit 1.8 for good. 1.11, here I come.

As for the chunks, I mean every chunk in the render distance. There is only one chunk in the up down (I always forget which letter. I think it is z ) and that this thing is fully running when you are in it.
As for the drivers, then tell me how I can click run the installation software of supposed "new drivers" with progress being made. As far as I can tell, I can try to install the new drivers as long as my skin colour does not turn to rainbow and after the restart of the laptop everything is the same.

Won't work. Until it updates, you'll be stuck w/o it if you're using TiCon for 1.10+.

Mods for MC 1.7.10 do not work on Minecraft versions 1.8 or higher. Compatibility with other mods isn't even relevant.

hi there. i've got a question about the 1.7.10 build of tinkers construct. i'm currently working on a little private modpack and among the other mods i want to use is immersive engineering. so during a test i saw via NEI that there is liquid lead, silver and nickel in tinkers construct, but when i tried to melt the ores from immersive engineering in the smeltery it didn't work.
after a quick research i found out that the liquid metals are there because of a built in compability with thermal expansion and after adding said mod, i was able to smelt the immersive engineering metals and there were even full tool sets for those available.
the thing is that my modpack should have more of a steampunk/light tech style and i don't want to add thermal expansion because it feels a bit too hightech.
so i wanted to ask if there is a way to "unlock" the lead, nickel, silver part of tinkers construct without actually adding thermal expansion. i tried out extra-tic, hoping that would do the trick, but sadly it didn't.
every help or tips are highly appreciated. cheers.

I have noticed there are alot of changes to the modifiers in 1.10.2, is there a good list of the new modifier combos somewhere? Specifically I can't find the combo for adding modifier slots, and also adding rechargeable.

Well, no matter, you would have only caught it if you paid full attention to my story. So let me elaborate:
Due to 4 year old (but back then top notch) drivers I could not play minecraft anymore with java 8 once I upgraded to windows 10. Before 10 it went just fine. Most new mods need java 8 already. The (relatively) new versions also play better with Java 8. TConstruct requires it as well.
By saying: "Me: Plays 1.11 version, sits in Day 1 shelter and starts reading facing the 1 block hole facing west.[/b]" I wanted to express that now I can play Minecraft with Java 8 on Windows 10 because I have a new PC.

umm... the update fixed the issue I was having but JEI is STILL not showing the 2 chests, 1 is for Patterns and the other was for parts...

Part of me really wants to move the alloy process from TiC into the mixer from Embers, I suspect the script would be useful....
