I'm noticing this mod causes notable framerate drops, at least with my set of mods. When I run it, my passable 19 FPS on average drops to an abysmal 4 FPS.
I'll keep observing, and I may have more details for you later.
Additionally, Vanilla bows are incompatible with Tinker's construct arrows. It is unknown if this is intentional or not. Lastly, when I spawn in Tinker's Construct Stone or Iron bows, any arrows shot off them drop immediately to the floor. Once again, unknown if intentional or not.
Modlist? and do you have Nvidia? if so what version.

The arrows not working with Vanilla bows is intentional, and I don't think you should spawn in tools or weaponry at all. Try spawning in the components and making the bow yourself instead.

If I'm rude to you, just tell me. Don't take it too personally. Well, unless you were being stupid. If you were, DO take it personally.

I'm pretty sure that the behavior with Stone and Iron bows is intentional. I mean, seriously... do you have any idea how difficult it would be to try and actually draw one of those types of bows in real life? Stone wouldn't work as it would just shatter if you managed to get it to draw at all, and you'd need an incredibly flexible version of iron to even attempt an iron bow (I believe that composite bows and crossbows are the only ones truly capable of doing that right now in real life).

as if tinkers is in any way realistic, yeah green slime is a thing you can make tools out of IRL
either way without knowing the full list of parts used and being able to see the statistics discussion of this sort is just wild unbased speculation and not worth doing.

24 hours gone again, wasted in futility, welcome to minecraft modding, that is (unfortunately) our community.
(an ode to minecraft modding)
i keep making the same mistake, i think "oh, i've given them a few months, surely it'll be fixed by now" THAT is why i seem to ALWAYS be angry to some of you, my advice is to get the lead out.
there were nice things here, until the mod author threw a tantrum.
@Regina1997 There is no way to make vanilla bows compatible with Tinker Arrows. Tinker Arrows require Tinker Bows. But tbh I wouldn't use them right now, since they're not really worth it currently.
@DJCherryTempo Not enough content to be its own mod. Turning meat into jerkies is not really that big of a deal.
@Crashes with Crafting Tables I just released 1.7.1b which should contain bugfixes for that.
Not sure what's causing this, but I can't seem to make a Tool Station.
I just barely got used to doing this in Agrarian Skies, and now I've got Tinkers' Construct active in my elemental skyblock-style map, and I can make the stencil table and part builder, but putting the pattern over the vanilla crafting bench just shows nothing.
Here's a list of the mods I've got right now:
MC+ BattleHearts, FirePit, Fossil, WoodenBucket
Damage Indicators, Armor Status, Status Effect HUD
Starting Inventory
AutoSapling
Backpack
Better Beginnings
Better Rain
BiblioCraft
CustomOreGen
Double Doors
Elemental Creepers rebooted
Ex Nihilo
Fastcraft
Fireplaces
Frames (I think that's Timber Frames)
Garden Containers and Garden Trees
Glowstone Seeds
Hardcore Questing Mode
Hunger Overhaul and Spice of Life
Tinkers' Construct and Iguana Tinker Tweaks
Improving Minecraft
Item Physics
Journey Map
LevelUp
Mantle... I don't even remember what that does...
Metallurgy
MineTweaker, which I've used to destroy the normal boat recipe and replace it with needing tar, to let you turn fences into sticks, and... I forget, not a lot but little things I wanted.
Natura
HarvestCraft
Pet Bat
Primitive Mobs and Special Mobs
Slingshot and Throwing Spears
SmartMoving and SmartRender
Snowfall
Storage Drawers
Super Crafting Frame (SO useful!)
Wallpaper
B3M, which makes the days longer
Hope I didn't miss any. If anyone has any ideas what's going on, please let me know. Thanks!
ETA: Okay, have slightly narrowed this down. It wants not the vanilla crafting table but the TC crafting station. The game won't make the TC crafting station because the normal recipe for the vanilla crafting bench creates not the normal vanilla crafting bench but something that looks identical and has the same name, but the wrong number (176 instead of 48, or something). It seems that one of the mods is making its own crafting bench instead of the normal one... I guess? And I can turn normal crafting benches into the 176 ones (by putting two side by side), but I can't do that in reverse. Help?
ETA 2: Never mind, figured it out: It's Better Beginnings mod. Have asked them to make sure I can get my hands on a vanilla crafting bench to use with other mods.
ETA 3: AnonTheMouse says it's because Tinkers' Construct doesn't make use of the Ore Dictionary to ensure that any crafting bench fits in that recipe. I still think Better Beginnings should give a recipe to let you get the vanilla ones back, but Anon did say this ought to be fixed on your side.
My YouTube channel is currently on hiatus, but I hope to get back to it at some point. Content is fairly random, but can be enjoyable, and is mostly game footage (mostly random Minecraft clips) from my nephews and me. Most popular MC vid so far is the one Vechs laughed at on Twitter!
Not enough content to be its own mod. Turning meat into jerkies is not really that big of a deal.
Mods dont have to be loaded with tons of content to be released...Though baddaspig does make a nice point that if it is an issue for you, you could make the standalone mod the food and non tool items from TConstruct.
hey boni i thank you for taking up the mod and keeping it up and i thank you ... saying that is it possible to update the wiki for the Traveler's Gear ?
the books in game have no text telling what items to upgrade the gear... sure some of it i can tell what it is but other stuff like for night vision and the work table for the goggles nothing seems to work
so would it be possible to write down what is needed for what upgrade for each piece of gear

I am the only one who works on the (unofficial) wiki, and boni doesn't, and probably doesn't want to, contribute to it at all. If you have issues, talk to me about it on my wiki's wall, because people get touchy when it's mentioned on here.
Also, the TGear is constantly under development, so I'm waiting for a few more constants before I make a page on them.
PS: the TGear's mods can be found in the first book.
So, it seems that Tinkers Construct doesn't register its axes as Forge oreDictionary axes, which means that the Better Beginnings mod still thinks I'm trying to punch trees with my fist. Apparently this incompatibility is also found in other mods that make certain blocks breakable only by axes.
I don't want to lose the Better Beginnings mod, or Tinkers Construct. Is there some way to make them compatible? If the Tinkers Construct axes can't be listed as axes for some reason, but they were all some other sort of category, maybe I could ask BB to allow that category to also break things just like axes. Or maybe there could be a config setting as to whether they're listed as axes or not. Or some sort of override setting? I don't know, I just want these mods to work together if that's at all possible.

Does anyone know of a mod that adds machine(s) to replace the smeltery (ie, converting ores into their liquid form). I'd like to replace my smeltery since the fps hit gets a little annoying in the late game when you're only occasionally using it to make clear glass or a lost tool. Thanks.
hey TherminatorX what are the mods for the goggles by chance ive tried everything in a bottle and nothing works it looks like a flint and steel with a bottle of water but i tried that and every potion in the game and nothing works i think its to get night vision but i found the mods in the books and some make sense and others dont but sadly there is nothing for the goggles and i was wondering on how to repair the gear ? i can easily craft it again but modding it all over again can be a pain.

How about a standalone mod for all the food, and the other non-tool related stuff like punji sticks?
Timeless Modding is kinda dead but idk what to put here now
I occasionally make textures/models for random people. Contributed to: Tinker's Construct, Growthcraft, and Animals+

Night vision requires a brewed 3m potion and the flint+steel. Creative potions do not work atm(working on that).
