No promises at that one, I am still not quite sure about the requirements for changing the player's model/size for properly implementing this. Last time I tried, it failed horribly.

I am definitely going to try out if this mod is compatible with iChun's Morph though.
has morph updated for 1.8.9 yet?
I know the 1.7.10 version of morph had a serious compatiblity issue with pokecube, where it would track every single pokemob killed, and eventually go over the packet size for servers, single player it worked fine, multiplayer things broke.

I had a crash. I have no idea how this could happen aside from Pokecube, so...

A play as a pokemon feature would be pretty interesting. If it were implemented, it would basically mean a real Mystery Dungeon in minecraft. It would also give the mod more variety from pixelmon, so such a feature could significantly increase your support.

Here are some important questions/issues with this idea:
How to choose what pokemob to turn into.
How to choose to turn back.
I assume attack choosing will be same, with your moves appearing in normal gui.
I have got rendering a player as a pokemob working, now I just need to get the player's hitbox changed to that of the pokemob.

In regards to game mechanics, I believe you should add in a new item. Said item would be a chamber where one would transform into a pre-configured pokemon (similar to the one Bill used to transform into a Clefairy in the games). This mod has already developed a theme of DNA, so such an item would not be too illogical. And in order to transform back, go back into the chamber.

Hmm, I don't really want to add too many blocks, but I could possibly do something like that for this one.

The first mod I would suspect is ChameleonCreepers. The second would be PokéCube, though...
All because the last readable method in the the stacktrace is: "net.minecraft.world.chunk.storage.AnvilChunkLoader.loadEntities". But this could also mean that it is crashing on any dropped item, so it does not exclude any of the other mods.
That refers to TileEntities, not Mob Entities.
Somehow it is trying to load a TE at y=-5, which I have no clue how that could be caused by Pokecube.

One major bug to try to get fixed, then to see if I can get player able to fly when as one that can fly.
Then to see if I can get player using attacks.
Edit: Major bug is a hardcoded vanilla issue, I will see if I can get a forge PR done to fix it. otherwise this will require a core mod, and I don't really want to do one of them.

Why u make the pokemobs so small?
Ok, There would be some Massive lag with wailord and well, yeah haha.
But I was thinkin that some pokemobs are way too small (for me) Like the Legendary Birds, I think they would be like, one and half the size of the player.
And Galade/Gardevoir/Lucario and all those Biped last evolutions, I think they would be exactly the same as the player.

~sorry the bad english~
The pokemobs are the size that they are listed as in the pokedex.
One thing to remember about the size of the player in pokemon, the player is usually quite short, which makes the pokemon look larger. Steve is 1.8m tall, whereas the player in early pokemon games is closer to 1.4m.

Lucario is about 4 feet tall, EVEN IN ITS MEGA FORM.
I have it properly able to change the player into a Pokemob.
Player has a list of attacks for the Pokemob (but cannot use them yet).
Current Major bug: if player turns into a small pokemob, player cannot walk under overhangs less than 1 blocks tall. This is a vanilla bug, that requires Forge to fix.
If forge does not accept it, then I will not be able to fix this without making a coremod, which is usually a bad idea to do, for compatiblity reasons.
