I'm having a serious issue with deep caveworld. every time I try to enter it I'm stuck in a void of nothing after the downloading terrain screen ends. nothing loads even after a long time, no commands work and I can't get out. resetting the dimension doesn't do anything either.

It took several tries, but I reset the dimension and changed the dimension ID to -7. Since I'm near the water at the bottom of the dimension I get so many lag spikes.
I had to spend some time in locating latest build of Cave World mod of yours. Up to date most build: 1.9.7

Found a major bug with the Cavnium Picks. Their Range and ADIT modes can break Bedrock, which player can then collect, and troll other users on a server by placing the bedrock around houses, doors, portals, etc.
Okay, poked around the OP's orginal formus and Wiki (which is in Japanese BTW) and via Google Transrate I fricken figured it out.
When poking around in the Caveworld you may run into a Cavnium Skeleton. Kill it, but get ready to get machine gun pelt with arrows. After you kill it, there is a chance that a MASTER Cavnium Skeleton will spawn. KILL IT WITH FIRE!! (No, SRSLY, you think the Cavnium Skeleton was a Machine Gun? Then the MASTER CAVNIUM SKELETON OF DAKKA DAKKA DAKKA is the FRICKEN HEAVY of Skeletons) KILL IT and you'll get his OP as FRICK bow which has 3 modes:
Torch: Acts like a normal bow, but where the arrow lands, it places a torch! (Uses 1 Arrow and 1 Torch)
TO ENTER THE AQUATIC CAVES YOU WILL NEED TO HAVE:
1,000 Mining Points (Just re-mine Iron ore you placed if you are that lazy)
Slain BOTH the Cavnium Skeleton and MASTA OF DAKKA Cavnium Sleleton
Have either 1 Cavnium, Refined Cavnium or Aquamarine.
Step 1:
Jump into the void with 1K mining points to enter the Deep Caves
Step 2: Take a dip in the lakes in the Deep Caves
Step 3: Pull out the Cavnium, Refined Cavnium, or Aquamarine and RIGHT CLICK (This action uses it so make sure you have two so you can get back!)
Step 4: Congratulations! You are now in the Aqua Cave World!
Aqua Cave World:
It's completely flooded with magical water (it's just water...) that doesn't drown you! Movement quick. Mining Speed underwater doesn't slow you down either! The ore spawn rate is the same as the cave world, except Aquamarine spawns at a 3 times rate than other ores. If you hold down Shift you can even hover underwater! (Neat!)
To leave the Aqua Cave World, pull out either Cavnium, Refined Cavnium, or Aqamarine and right click!
When I go to Caveworld in 1.7.10, I can't get back. Is it because I have other mods installed? Please help it's annoying.
It might have something to do with your configs, unless you made it to deep cave world, in that case you need to get a lot of points to escape. (I think there is also a fail-safe in it as well but i forgot how to do it.)
I saw nothing in the configs. I un-re installed it and it still does it. When I make the portal and go through it no prob, it's when I try to leave the dimension it doesn't do anything, I walk right through the frame
I am having lots of lag every time i get in the Caveworld and sometimes i even crash

Ars Magica 2, Lucky Block, Choclate Quest Diversity, Dungeon Pack, Elemental Creepers, Eternal Frost, Ether, Map Writer, NEI, Thaumcraft 4, The Erebus and Twilight Forest. Plus I've other mods that add some but not that important

One rules of the forum is to not pressure the modder to update their mod to a specfic version. Also the creator of this seems to have disappeared. If a person wanted to though, they could edit the files and update this mod however they pleased. The github link is in the OP.
Out of curiosity, is this mod compatible with Miner's World & Miner's Heaven mods And if so doesn't that give us a theoretically infinite supply of ores?

The mod creator has disappeared, also that is a good question. It actually may, but the "upper" cave world doesn't have as much ores as the deep cave world. Why not test it out? (I am betting it should work)

Are you sure you guys are using the 1.9.7 version and not the 1.8.3 ? I got no issues with this mod on 1.7.10 and i'm using 93 mods.
I just had to fix a bunch of compatibility issues regarding ID's,orespawn and mobspawn. Most of the lag spikes i had was due to some incompatibility with mobspawn and orespawn.

How do I add ores in the config? The "Vein Customize" option appears to be missing from the main config menu.

Yes, they do work but you have to edit it in the config file.
