I think it was just cave slimes, but I couldn't find all of them. The ones I saw were cave slimes, all pretty small.
They shouldnt spawn if the light level is high enough anyway as they use the same code as all Minecraft mobs where they only spawn under a certain light level. Anyway I have already done as requested and added a spawn rate config in which will be in the next release. Next release wont be until I have done some more work on a few other bits though

I just assumed they would spawn in normal light like Vanilla Slimes. No dependence on Slime Chunks either?

Nah they spawn in light levels more like zombies and stuff rather than normal slimes. Slime chunks are not required for any spawning either, they just spawn in the biome(s) mentioned in the slimes spoiler on the first page
Some minor work on the sewers structure tonight led me to creating foot soldier slimes that can actually get out of the water and also are invisible in water

Any chance the Foot Soldier and Turtle slimes attack each other on sight? If they're invisible in water, are they silent as well? The idea of a stealthy slime is kind of terrifying. Awesome.

You can actually still see where they are in the water because some bubbles appear where it jumps to. Might have to work on getting the turtles and foot soldiers to fight each other. Of course the turtles should be able to defeat them easily

I tried to make a village with the scrolls and fenced a whole area to keep them safe. Well, give 8 slime villagers a few hours and they will multiply faster than rabits! I had to go on creative with splash potion of harming to have some crowd control! They were so many they started banging through fences and started spawning out of the town area!
Can we have a way to disable their auto reprodution or was something implemented in the latest version about this matter?

Yeah I only recently got their breeding AI working so need to adjust some values. Main part of the problem is they spawn as adults that can automatically reproduce instead of having to wait the usual 24000 ticks before they are able to breed. There will be some changes in 1.0.4 that I will release in a day or so.

I have no plans to make a 1.7.2 version right now. If I had started the mod on 1.7.2 it would have been something I would consider more but I started on 1.7.10. Maybe after I finish the structures and other stuff I might try and make a 1.7.2 version but that might be a way off
V1.0.4 is now out. Check the changelog in the first post for all the changes and new stuff.. Some stuff added in this patch is a new slime, some weapons, an enchant and armor now being craftable.
Also added crafting recipes to the first post now as well and updated other information to be correct with the new changes. Hope you enjoy!
