Check this out: One of the Regrowth streamers even turned a controller network into an end-game replacement for an AE2 system. I don't recommend this, because it has the potential to start stressing your render performance and large networks are more expensive to refresh. But I was impressed with the creativity of the system. A Thaumcraft magic mirror is used for inserting items into the system via a hopper. The spark is part of a Botania corporea network, which is used for pulling items back out again.
yea thats mine, and honestly I can report I suffer no ill affect from the system in the Regrowth pack, no FPS drop or lag what so ever. Get a weird duplicating of the reported quantity from the Corporea network but I think that may have been fixed in a patch or two somewhere I havnt seen yet. I actually thinking of adding in separate input hoppers to specific chest on the outline of the grid from other sources.

I am getting an odd error at the end of server startup on regrowth (v0.7.4). Im using forge build 1291 and 1.3.6 of StorageDrawers. I realize this is not the latest version but preferably, I do not want to change from the version that are in the pack. The error is below.
Despite the error, I am still able to log in to the server and use StorageDrawers. I am just looking to see if there is anything critically wrong with the server.

Either some data managed to get corrupted, or a block or item no longer exists. The latest version of SD might fix it. What you're seeing in your error log is probably Forge protecting you, and deleting the offending block. I wouldn't be surprised if you find a drawer missing if you look carefully.
There's a 1.4.0 alpha out! If you're a heavy user of the drawer controller, It would be really awesome if you could do some testing and make sure nothing has broken (on a copied or backed up world, of course). I've added two more blocks to help you use your networks better. Full change set:
Added 'Trim' block for decoration and as a connector in drawer networks.
Added 'Controller Slave' block to expose more faces as an extension of the drawer controller.
Added void upgrade. Any items inserted through the sided inventory will be voided if the drawer is full.
Changed lock upgrades to a reusable drawer key.
Updated renderer to improve and brighten drawer labels.
Locked or voided drawers will display a small indicator on their front trim.
Third party plankWood that is correctly registered in the ore dictionary can be used to craft drawers.
Updated fr_FR language file. Thanks Mazdallier.
The slave warrants a little more information. When a controller sees a slave on the network, it binds to it. Once a slave is bound, it looks exactly like the controller from the perspective of machines and pipes. If you're a big user of super crafting frames, then you could load up a bunch of slaves on your network and hang crafting frames on them. Slaves are much more lightweight than controllers, and they will all share exactly the same connected drawer range (via their bound controller). If a slave is within range of more than one controller, its binding is likely to flip back and forth between them.
I've been a huge fan of your mod since I discovered in the FTB Mage Quest pack. So pretty. I wanted to thank you for the mod, and also for helping Vazkii with the corporea spark issue I raised on GitHub. I look forward to playing with your 1.4 changes in my custom pack once I stop being addicted to Agrarian Skies 2 (though I've been making a use of storage drawers there too... again: so pretty).
As a slightly selfish aside, I have a request/suggestion: Chest Drawers. One of my pet peeves recently is that chests are annoying to vertically stack (because of solid ceilings), not to mention they are nowhere near as aesthetically pleasing as your storage drawers. Nor do they take up a full block, which is incredibly frustrating for sleek storage builds. I was wondering if you could create a drawer that acts as a standard single chest, yet opens from the "front". And, perhaps, make it expandable using your existing upgrade system in a fashion akin to the Iron Chests mod.
Woah, this is awesome! Great textures AND very Jabba-like!

If I helped you in any way or agree in my ideas or posts, make sure you click that green arrow pointing up below my post or simply huggle me! I use 1.7.10 (Modded), so when I comment that I like a 1.8 mod, I will comment to downgrade to 1.7.10. I support no pics, no clicks. Suggestions that I think that are the best deserves a banner!
It is almost time to say goodbye to 1.7.10 because of the recent surge of big 1.9 mods.
Why MCreator sucks: jcm2606's file (doesn't open a new tab) He allows/welcomes anyone to link the file, so I put it here in my signature for people to know how MCreator functions. I thank jcm2606 (he's awesome) for creating the document/file and I'm just here to spread the word.
1.4.0-alpha2 is now available. I didn't receive any bug reports from the last alpha, but I did find some network issues on my own. There's also more changes and fixes, including Refined Relocation support.
- Added Refined Relocation support. Sorting drawers and compacting drawers. Min version required is 1.08b.
- Added player interact protection event to left-click (in non-creative mode).
- Disabled label rendering for back-facing labels (potential performance savings).
- Changed drawer network to prefer filling existing slots with space instead of populating empty slots. Depending in refresh timing, it's still possible for empty slots to get picked.
- Fixed player inventory not properly updating when dumping inventory into drawers.
- Fixed various issues with drawer network code introduced in last alpha.
Version 1.4.0 is now available. The combined changelog of the past alphas is:

For those of you who are interested in 1.8 support, I have a preview alpha release available for testing. Note the bold. There's numerous things to be aware of:
Based on early 1.3 fork, patches from later 1.3 releases may be missing.
Drawer Controller is disabled.
Storage and status upgrades do not render anything on drawers.
Lock upgrade is not fully implemented (intend to replace with 1.4.0 key instead).
Several config settings have no effect.
Label rendering is not as consistent as 1.4.0.
No integration support with any mods (including WAILA). Most mods I integrated with didn't port anyway, or are in early stages. Sided inventory transport should still work in most cases.
Please use this as an opportunity to test and give feedback. I'm looking to bring the 1.8 version as close to parity with 1.7.10 as I reasonably can, but 1.7.10 remains my primarily supported version for the foreseeable future.
The 1.8 port is nearing completion. It's been rebased to 1.4.3, with all the newer blocks and upgrades added in. Everything should be functionally working more or less. The major exception is that none of the upgrades render anything on drawers. This makes the indicators still useless, but the other upgrades do function
Rebased on 1.4.3 version of the mod.
Added controller, controller slave, and trim blocks.
Added void upgrade and drawer key.
Fixed rare ConcurrentModificationException on server when pulling out items.
Items can be inserted into the faces of a drawer controller via hoppers or item pipes, which will insert the items into any drawer which is connected to the controller through an unbroken chain of drawers (up to a maximum distance). However, the drawer controller needs to be adjacent to storage drawers to work, so the optimal configuration has the controller surrounded on all sides with only the front and back faces exposed.
Placing a controller slave somewhere in your drawer cluster allows you to use its faces as if they were more faces of the controller. A typical cluster will have the controller in the middle, surrounded by a large bank of drawers. The slave can be placed at the edge of the bank of drawers and offers an additional place to connect hoppers or item pipes to without worrying about the controller's maximum range.
Might I suggest another block to extend the network, say a controller extender. Or an upgrade item that increases the range of the storage controller. Or is there a better way to implement what I am asking that I am missing with what we already have?
A range upgrade would be bad for performance, though I may be overstating the impact of a big drawer network. I've already given consideration to such an extension block -- essentially a network bridge connecting two controller networks together. At that point it starts sounding like AE2. I need to chew on the idea some more before I'm willing to commit to it.
If you're using Steve's Workshop, this is an important update for you.
Version 17.10-1.4.5:
Fixed item dupe bug with Steve's Workshop.
Fixed item insertion bug with Steve's Workshop.
Inserting items through pipes/sided inventory will now trigger item conversion until there is less than 1 stack of capacity left in the drawer (quirk shared by JABBA).

For the description of the controller slave you keep saying it exposes more faces. Can you elaborate more on that?

However, the drawer controller needs to be adjacent to storage drawers to work, so the optimal configuration has the controller surrounded on all sides with only the front and back faces exposed.
