Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
a few turtles and a best friend are the best things to have in life
Not likely, at least not soon - it was a lot of work last time, I still wasn't fully satisfied with it after all that work, and I hear there's a specifically Zelda-focused mod that has one already. I'm fine with leaving it to them for now.
Incidentally, I'd love to get some feedback on the staff items from all you folks - do they feel like about the right level of effectiveness for the effort it takes to craft them, especially relative to vanilla items? What do you like about them, what could be improved?

My opinion is... they aren't generally worth using in their current state. Even with the fully unarmored charge speed of the staffs, I can deal more damage with an unenchanted bow, from further away, and without worrying about how much armor I'm wearing. When compared to a bow that has been enchanted, the staffs are laughably weak. The only strategic value I see in the staffs as they currently exist is in the ability to damage large groups at once (and the status effect from the staff of ice could be pretty useful), but I don't personally feel as though that is enough to redeem them.
As a side note, while I have your ear, I would like to humbly request config options to toggle the drop of hearts/emerald shards from enemies.
Edit: I feel the staffs would be more competitive with vanilla weapons if they were able to be augmented with enchantments (aside from just unbreaking), although I'm not actually too keen on the idea of having new enchantments exclusively for these staffs. Maybe some other way to upgrade their performance?
Power increases spell power, Infinity sets the charge speed to maximum no matter what you're wearing, and Flame...wouldn't do anything, because you can't very well have an Ice Staff with Flame, now can you?

Duly noted. May I ask about your motivations for wanting this? (Not being defensive, here -- I'm just curious what about this feature doesn't work well for you personally.) Also, to clarify, do you want hearts and emeralds toggled separately, and does this apply to the drops from grass as well?

For technical reasons, any enchantments on them would probably be new ones. It's definitely on my list as a thing to expand on. There will be a few different angles on it - very probably enchantments, but also possibly wizard robes that don't provide armor but increase spell power (and can still be enchanted with Protection etc.), or a Ring of the Battlemage that decreases spell power slightly but significantly reduces the armored casting penalty.
Also to come are additional types of spell items that use the same type of AoE aiming but have very different tuning in the numbers and functionality.
(Another note - the staffs are currently tuned for "unarmored" as the default power level; I should probably reconsider calibrating them for "some armor" (perhaps leather) so that going naked puts you a bit above par.)

Ready access to relatively easy health and emeralds could unbalance one's desired game experience, e.g. if health regeneration is turned off and recovering health is meant to be a challenging endeavor. That would include drops from grass, and while I don't personally need hearts and emerald shards to be toggled separately, it couldn't hurt to have separate config options for them. These toggles aren't of the utmost importance to me, but they are something I'd like to see, and I assume it wouldn't be too much of a challenge to implement (then again, you know what they say about assumptions).
For technical reasons, any enchantments on them would probably be new ones.
Oh well, it was a pretty selfish complaint anyways. I just tend to enchant books and don't like getting enchantments with niche uses on them.
That's not a lot to go on. What were you doing when the crash happened? I can't tell if I've fixed the bug unless I reproduce the circumstances involved.
If it's not a bother could you give a rough overview of what you are planning to add back in from the original LegendGear? Because I really liked some of the unique items like the chained blocks with keys, the starbeam torch, and the bomb bags? P.S. I really liked the system of collecting bombs and throwing them.
I don't want to promise too much, since a lot of that is not definitively decided. My current thoughts on those things:
Chained Blocks: low priority, since adventure mode's flexibility and level of control has improved considerably.
Starbeam Torch: may or may not return in its old form; if not, something similar will likely replace it. I have vague plans.
Bomb Bags: The blast shell is intended to be a more usable replacement for the old bombs, and it's my understanding that there's a very Zelda-focused mod out there now that has these already.
Usually using Steam/Discord nowadays, mostly actively searching around on curseforge for new mods.
Games on steam are usually Spiral Knights, TF2, SFM, and Paladins nowadays
I occasionally hop on minecraft to see what's new.
I'm just a wanderer.....
Very likely in some form, and probably soon, but I'm still figuring out how they fit into the mod's overall big picture.

Sorry, couldn't help myself. This pops into my head every time someone refers to being unarmored in Minecraft as "naked."
When you post a mod: "No pics no clicks" and "MCreator = bad ~99% of the time"
Don't forget to read the crashlog before reporting the crash. It might tell you why it's crashing.
Sorry if my spelling is bad, I'm learning english...
