Hello Xaero,

I'd like to report an mod compatibility issue with items that have custom tooltip components.

For the context I'm the owner of ShulkerBoxTooltip, a mod that shows the contents of items like shulker boxes or chests in the tooltip (using TooltipComponent since Minecaft 1.17 IIRC).

One of my players reported that enabling the tooltip HUD option of Better PVP causes a crash when holding a shulker box.
After investigating, it seems the issue is caused by your mod calling the TooltipComponent.of() method directly, which bypasses both Fabric and Forge's ways of allowing mods to register their own tooltip components.

One possible fix for the crash is to render the item tooltip using the Screen.renderTooltip(MatrixStack, List, Optional, int, int) overload (I'm using Yarn names), which handles the conversion from TooltipData to TooltipComponent in way that is compatible with Forge and Fabric.

The same changes on Fabric should also break compatibility with most third party mods that reference this mod's code. (Neo)Forge should be fine but I'm planning to make much bigger structural changes in the future now that I'm finally able to. If you're developing a third party mod that fetches the minimap instance from the AXaeroMinimap class, you should now use HudMod.INSTANCE instead.
* Dimension types shouldn't ever be unknown in singleplayer anymore and require a visit.
* Fixed info displays conflicting with the F3 text.
