What config? In the config folder in the .minecraft folder, there is just a "compactchests.cfg". When I open it with NotePad++, it's just empty.
Yes. I am chaning recipes soon, in the first release of CompactStorage, I might start doing some alphas, but I want to replace alot of stuff, it will be hard to do some of the stuff I want to do
I want to change the chest system from blocks to metadata, and move the rotation from metadata to a NBT value stored in the TileEntity, then add legacy conversion built in to the tile entity. That is my current status on the mod.

That is not true. Only mods that use Reflection to access 1.7.2 obfuscated field names should not work. CompactChests SHOULDfunction perfectly fine on 1.7.2

I am currently in the process of making CompactStorage aka CompactChests 2. I am changing over to a new system and I am trying to add legacy support so items and data are not lost in the update. This will HAVE to work, as I cannot let people lose items. I will get there

Awsome! the custom colors count also for the backpacks, right?
Any hint on how the recipes will be? I just discovered an actual recipe is overwritten by other mods I added and I'm not sure how to deal with conflicts

you want this mod here. i have mrcrayfish' furniture mod an the cabinet recipe conflicts with compact storage recipe but this solves that by adding a little numbered tab on the crafting grid allowing you to choose the recipe you want

1.7.2 and 1.7.10 should work together, I have not tested it. But when I release next time I will test for both
Why Do you still use 1.7.2 y not just update to 1.7.10
