They are correct ones, theres nothing good added to 1.7.10 and 1.7.10 is not a major update its just minor so i dont know why forge made it forge should have done 1.8 than 1.7.10 but 1.7.10 and 1.8 is laggier so 1.7.2 is better
1.8 is insanely laggy for me. Like, almost unplayable. Besides, there's Forge 1.8 in the works.

I know. I hope they bring back in the old rendering system. I don't like the new one, and I really hate that the new rendering systems causes X-Ray Resource Packs to fail (They stated that if blocks aren't meant to be transparent, the transparent bits will be purely black). I only use them for redstone, but still, it peeves me that I have to install a mod (The classical hard way) to actually get some proper X-Ray for redstone stuff on 1.8, and if I try to work on it with 1.7.10, then I'll lose all the new features!

I did, then they popped back up after I restarted it.

Tried deleting them using the in-game config gui? There's a tutorial on the OP.
My guess is that you delete them wrong (which is easy to do to be fair) and the mod re-generated the file....

I did delete them by the in-game config, but I just want those groups automatically generated by the mod to be gone.

Dont delete the whole group. Just delete all the names from it.
If you delete the group the mod will generate it again.
The groups make no difference in game, they are just a way to organise the hundreds of names that I added.
I did delete all the names from it, it just annoys me that the mod automatically regens the heads if I want to delete the group. And can groups of heads have a different chance of spawning within chests and stuff?

Like I said, the group means nothing, it's just to break the list down. In game all the heads are grouped in the same list and treated the same.
Clear the group by deleting all the names inside of it and it won't be generated again.
A quick question: Why does every head I list in the config render correctly except my own? I added my own username to the list; but all I get is a basic Steve Head. Its a simple username; and I've checked for misspelling twice. I'm using version 1.2.7, as part of a 1.7.10 personal modpack. The mod works flawlessly otherwise....

Hm, that's weird. Can you try adding the name form someone else you know and see if it works?
Also, make sure there's no white spaces before and after your name since that could mess it up.

Literally, any valid username I enter has correctly shown up; I checked each out in the creative menu listing just to see if there's some skin-related shenanigans going on. But always my own head never shows up properly, even if I change my skin.
white spaces was one of the first things I did check, since my typing's not the greatest in the world; but that checked out as not being present. Oh, and BTW, I can confirm that if a user's skin is changed, the mod seems smart enough to update statues accordingly when you restart your client; It happened when I was bug testing this problem using a yogscast member's head-statue on a creative map.
If you need my modpack's listing BTW, to see if something else isn't playing nicely, let me know...
EDIT:
Figured it out! And this is something that completely got past me somehow.....
Back when Mojang (in their "infinite wisdom") required all of us minecraft players to migrate our user accounts to new Mojang accounts, apparently their system didn't like the fact that my username was identical to e-mail address. Without me knowing it, since we log in with our email now instead of our actual User names, the system changed 2 letters in my username to uppercase. I just never knew it was altered before now....
In the end: The mod was perfect; but Mojang derped on a disturbing scale in my case....
And thanks to NEI, I was even able to exchange out the misnamed Head for the right one

Typical Mojang shenanigans XD
Glad the problem got resolved (and that it wasn't my fault:3)
I was looking to add a recipe to my modpack to the users can craft my head but when i added my head to the config it doesnt make it separate name or id so i can't single out the head to make it into a recipe any help?

Unfortunately minecraft doesn't support recipes using items with NBT data, it will always ignore them when checking the recipe.
And since the player's name is stored in the head item as NBT, there is no way you add recipes using specific player heads.
