Hi, I think this pack is very neat but can not seem to find any info or tutorials on how it all works or ways you can use it. Would like to have something set up where my ores are smelted and then sorted automatically.
You'd have to build that yourself. The router can do the sorting for you, with a properly built storage system, but smelting your ores and putting everything together is up to you. I find Router Reborn and Thermal Expansion/Thermal Dynamics work very nicely together; in fact my entire smelting and storage system is built using only Thermal Expansion, Thermal Dynamics, Router Reborn, and a couple of Ender Storage ender chests and some Project Red alloy wire.
(Well, OK, and two IC² machines specifically and only for smelting IC² uranium, though I don't really know why I'm even bothering to do so because I don't actually use the uranium. Just completism, I guess. It exists to be smelted, therefore my ore processor can smelt it. Just like it can smelt Thermal Expansion mithril, even though Thermal Expansion doesn't provide any actual uses for mithril. You'd think if TE adds mithril, it'd at least add a set of mithril weapons and armor.)
Are there any tutorials/spotlights/guides for this mod? Googling around hasn't revealed anything substantial and I'm having a hard time getting started due to never having used it's spiritual predecessor. It seems like a lot of what I can find assumes a level of familiarity with Factorization that I do not possess.
I've had a player report that accidentally using a RR mining tool with storage units within the area of effect destroys both the barrels and their contents.
Also, DouglasK found a corner case in which routers incorrectly route to overflow:
Materials:
1 Copper Chest
1 Wood Chest (only using different one for clarity in steps / results)
1 Router Reborn Router
1 Speed Upgrade
1 Bandwidth Upgrade
1 Auto Eject Upgrade
2 Item Translocators
2 Glowstone
An inventory to output to. I'm using a collection of storage units connected to the router by an inventory cable.
Setup:
Place the router to the north of your storage array.
Place the copper chest west of the router, with one blank space between the router and the chest.
Place the wood chest on top of the router.
Place the two Item Translocators to transfer items from the copper chest to the router.
Upgrade both Item Translocators with glowstone (right click on them with glowstone, lets them transfer a block at a time)
From the south side of the router, run an inventory cable to your inventory.
Config of router:
Set the mode to output.
Set the output face to south
under the eject tab, set the output face to Top / Up.
Steps to reproduce:
Grab 10 or so stacks of a single item type from your storage array.
drop them all into the copper chest at the same time (eg, shift click with the chest open)
Result:
Most of them are routed to your storage, but about 10-20% end up in the overflow chest.
Found a couple more minor but inexplicable glitches with the latest build (1.2.0.34). I don't know whether it's an RR issue per se or whether something else is triggering it.
SOME (but not all) players are finding birch planks cannot be crafted into sticks in a portacrafter.
If crafting a portacrafter in the 2x2 inventory crafting space, you have to flip the recipe left-for-right. Crafting a portacrafter in a portacrafter, the recipe works right way round, but ONLY in the top right corner. It doesn't work in any of the three other possible placements.
Storage units can now only be crafted using vanilla logs. Does the storage unit recipe by any chance specify minecraft:log rather than ore:logWood? Even vanilla dark oak doesn't work, and it's minecraft:log2 rather than minecraft:log.
Any ideas...?
I rewrote the recipes on my own servers using MineTweaker to use ore:logWood instead of minecraft:log, and ore:logPlank instead of minecraft:planks. I can now make barrels using any logs and any planks. You might want to consider doing the same. I also fixed the portacrafter recipe by just making it a 2x2 shaped recipe (apparently the default recipe is 3x3). I have no idea about the "some users cannot craft sticks from birch planks" issue.

It is using ore dict for logs, i will add one for log2 as well.
I need to look a bit closer on the porta crafter, it should work exactly like the vanilla table
Over the past month I've added several new mods, including Chisel 2. Chisel 2 adds several new stone types, including its own marble (separate from Project Red's), limestone, and back-ports of MC1.8's diorite, granite, and andesite. I have storage barrels for diorite and granite, but not any of the others yet. If I dump a bunch of Chisel 2 limestone and raw marble into the storage system, the limestone correctly gets kicked to bypass by the router as unstorable. The marble does not. It just sits there in the router, going nowhere. The router can't store it, but won't kick it to bypass. But if I unlock a storage unit for Chisel 2 marble, then zip! Straight to the storage it goes.

i don't know if this helps in anyway but Chisel 2 is depreciated , replace it with Chisel (Fork)
Hmm. no not sure why it would not kick that out, unless the overflow cant store it.
Might be it sees one of the overflow items as the same and when it check it closer the nbt dont match.
Updated:1.7.10-1.2.0.37-universal
Fixed the oredict on Storageunits recipe
Fixed the porta crafter recipe
Fixed Books given out multiple times (different dimentions)
Fixed Null pointer in network packet handler.
Fixed crash when wrenching RR blocks when Buildcraft is not installed.
Built on Forge 1.7.10-10.13.4.1558
Manual is still not fixed and will still crash the client if any of the routers or Storage units are disabled in the config (need to rewrite the book without mantle)
Seems a old bug slipped by me, Updated to 1.2.0.38 fixes router eating complete stack when output is less then 1 stack.
Sorry i did not catch this one before, It was reported here about 4 months ago i did a fix then but when upgrading to 1.8.9 i noticed there was a few lines that was off in the code, it is now solved.
1.7.10-1.2.0.40
FIX;
* Eject/Overflow not updating correctly between server/client
* Cable collision box
* Cable no longer ticks unless a update is needed.
* Cable should no longer feel lagged when being placed in the world
* Collision box now is a full block size when cammo is used on the cable
* Player should no longer take damage from the cable (caused by collisions not updating correctly between server/client making the player able to walk inside the collision box)
1.7.10-1.2.0.39
FIX:
* Router not dropping connection to tileentity if a tileentity is moved without breaking the block
1.7.10-1.2.0.38
FIX:
* Router eating complete stacks when output is less then a stack.
1.7.10-1.2.0.37

Fixed a router bandwidth issue causing items to get destroyed in some cases
Are there any videos of your mod to see it in action?

Sorry for late reply, yes i can include that, i need you to upload it again somewhere and i will include it.

I think the portacrafter problem may be it's defined as a 3x3 shaped recipe. When I redefined it as a 2x2 recipe it worked as expected.
Tom, I've just discovered another oddity.

Where do I find that?

Updated 1.8.9-0.0.10a
These are the current items available in 1.8.9-0.0.10a.
not that im aware of, closest thing i think would be to look up some older tutorials on the Factorization router it is pretty close to how this work.
