Welcome to the Dawn of the Planet of the Apes mod! This is the first mod I made so I hope you enjoy and leave suggestions so I make more. YOU DO NEED 1.7.10 FORGE.

Backstory:
(based on the movies of "Rise of the planet of the apes" (2011) and "Dawn of the planet of the apes" (2014)

After the apes wiped out almost all of the humans with the simian flu (Alz-113), The scientists at Genesis dumped all of the drug underground.
This Alz-113 was created by a doctor who wanted to help his father (who was suffering from Alzheimer's disease.) He had tested this drug on an ape named
Caesar who had increased in intelligence as a result. Caesar rebelled against the humans and spread the Alz to other apes, making them smart as well.
Caesar tried to make peace with the humans but unfortunately it failed. Now the entire planet is run by apes and the Alz is dumped all over the overworld.
For more info on the stories check out the movies, they are amazing!

Step 1. Find the Alz-113 which spawns underground (you will get an achievment after "time to mine.")

Step 2. It yeilds Alz-113 which can be crafted back into the Alz-113 block.

Step 3. The Alz makes animals smarter.
- Caesar was smarter than other apes before the Alz was used on him.

Step 4. The Alz-113 block in the shape of a nether portal makes the portal required to go into the ape world.

Step 5. To make the "Genesis key" (which activates the portal) you craft:

Step 6. WARNING: The apes are extrememly aggresive and powerful. Do not go in unless you have good armour. They are more sturdy than humans and will last longer.
- Caesar is a boss to defeat, he will drop rare Items.
- If you die, you spawn in the ape world.
- Dimmensions spawn ape and human homes. Humans (villagers) will spawn but most likely be killed by the apes.

Step 7. The apes (and Caesar) have a chance of dropping a spear (for Caesar, a diamond spear) which are extremely accurate weapons. If alz-113 is used on the spears, they will turn into virus-tipped spears.
These spears deal even more damage and are the strongest weapons. (You will get an achievement for making the Virus tipped diamond spear).

Step 8. To fight these apes, you'll need some strong weapons. The strongest one (other than the virus tipped diamond spear) is the tranquillizer. This weapon shoots arrows at any distance, and can kill any mob as long as you have arrows.

Haha thanks for the suggestions but yes, I am new to coding so a lot of options are pretty limited to me.

1. I really like the first idea, and I think I might actually implement that one.

2. I can't really think of any other reason I can give to players to come to the dimension, I was thinking that as well, but if you have a specific idea, I will try my best to implement it.

3. I can't really think of another way, mostly because other ways I tried usually don't work because of code. Again, if you have any specific ways I could make the weapons better i'd love to hear em!

Lovw the mod has a few bugs like i got a baby ceaser picture below and a few other things but overall love the mod

As a fan of the planet of the apes, I realize how much potential this mod truly offers. However here are my suggestions to make this mod go from 8 to 10. First of all there should be a goal or quests going in the ape dimension. For example once you arrive in the other dimension you can't leave (like the astronauts in the movies) until you have explored completely your world which contains randomly generated ape villages, laboratorys, primitive human villages and old ruins. Where pieces of a rocket are disperced to go home to the overworld and/or can be used on the planet, as a mount. Adding boss fights against various apes (like Dr. Zaius) and the goal of defending the villagers (humans) can be an interesting concept. Also, the presence of new armor (made of ape hide), weapons (from the humans of the futur) and trophies (boss heads and exclusive items) will set apart this mod from other ones. Ta able apes would also be cool...

These are my ideas, do what you want with them, I'm sure you are very qualified. I wish you the best of luck.
