I don't think there were any drastic changes. The API changed (hence this compat issues you see with this mod), and he added more blocks/plants/whatever.
The candelabras are finally done (and you even get a bonus was to hang single stick ones).
Possibly tomorrow, I will publish the first build. It will contain metal fences, candelabras, and everything needed to make candelabras (bloomery, candelilla, etc). What I really want is lattice so that might come next.

Think root covers could still be feasible? Sorry if I'm a bit pushy, ever since I saw them in the mod, I got curious. Perhaps they could form under the block an ornamental tree is planted on?
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
I just took the Minecraft Noob test! Check out what I scored. Think you can beat me?!
First update restores the metal lattice (though I actually wanted wood to build with...)
I've added a 5th metal type, "aged", for a more subdued rust color.
The two rust types are also crafted with water buckets, instead of getting dunked in a cauldron like they used to. Mostly for discoverability and my own laziness.
VERY excited to toy around with the new releases, I find that this mod works tremendously well with Rustic, for those who enjoy decorating in a more primal fashion.
And you needed said rewrite to update the mod? I fail to see how 1.11.2 does not have what is needed to update the mod.
I did, because that's the only way to do things now. It was a Forge breaking change.
It's not the biggest codechange in the world, but enough to be annoying. And if my Storage Drawers downloads are a guide, I'm getting more download activity now from 1.12 than 1.11.
Thank you for making and updating this mod for 1.12.
I have been making a list of mod features/blocks from 1.7.10 that have no counterparts in 1.12. Your mod adds a ton that are unique and that no other 1.12 mod is doing. In particular I make heavy use of your garden lanterns, window boxes, garden containers, chains and lattice.
I have just installed Garden stuff and when I launched minecraft I got this crash report.
The game crashed whilst there was a severe problem during mod loading that has caused the game to fail
Error: cpw.mods.fml.common.LoaderException: java.lang.NoSuchFieldError: renderPlantID
I am playing on 1.7.10 and I have other mods installed.

Fantastic!
Happy to see an old favorite updated to a newer version like this!

Likely only for 1.12, but it could be possible to push it to 1.11.2, since 1.12 was mostly bugfixes and a couple new features.

1.12 was a rewrite of the Forge registry system.

You need to find an updated version of plant mega pack.

I think Plant Mega Pack got sucked into Real World. (The mod, not, you know, real life!)

Yep, under the plants module. I think it's nice.

That won't help his 1.7.10 world though. He needs to find an actual updated jar of that, but it won't be found on the official website.
