Am having an issues with SoundFilters. I run a small private server for family and myself so we can all play together. I am using Forge 12.18.1.2095. When I try to connect to the server I get a timed out or Auth servers are down (which I check and they are up) I go to look at client log and all I see is -
[19:13:33] [Netty Client IO #1/INFO] [FML/]: Attempting connection with missing mods [soundfilters] at SERVER
I am very confused as to why it would be looking for this mod server side. Or why it won't let me connect.

Actually, that message is normal. It's supposed to say that when you connect to a server that doesn't have it (especially since this is a client side mod, so the server would never have it loaded).
It sounds kinda more like network connection problems to me. Did you get it working?
Both. Nothing is working -- it sounds like I don't even have the mod installed.
Ok... What you should do then is look at the game console output (if you're using the vanilla launcher, make sure your profile is set to keep the launcher open, and keep an eye on the Game Output tab as the game starts up), and see if this mod prints anything out as it loads.

Love this mod, but it crashes on a dedicated server due to the sound system not being present. Now I know this is a client side mod, and has no use on a server, but if it was coded such that it only initialised with the client sided proxy it wouldn't crash on a dedicated server. Please would you consider making this change though, as it will massively simplify mod pack production? Thanks.
Hey, yeah, this mod should never be included in the server version of a modpack. I didn't make a proxy, since it's a client side mod, but maybe I'll do that in the next version.
I'm using the latest 1.10.2 and 1.7.10 Forgeloader.
Currently I want to play FTB Infinity Lite. Both Infinity Packs (Evolved 1.7.10) telling me in the menu that Sound Filters is enabled and loaded but I can't hear any difference at all.
I was testing it on Hermicraft Pack on 1.10.2 where this is already implemented and it works fine there.
I enabled output debug in config but nothing special happens after restarting Minecraft.
I appreciate every help :/
Hmm... What other mods do you have in your packs? It's possible that there is another mod that is modifying the sound system (particularly a voice chat mod).
Naidemoc doesn't even have any other mods installed though... Hmm. The only thing I wanted to know from the debug output is that it's loading the sound library correctly, but I see from before that it is. Naidemoc, did you try running it with the recommended version of forge for 1.8.9 (not the latest)? I know for sure I've run it with version 11.15.1.1722 with no problem.
Oh apparently I have the 1.9 version, sorry for the confusion
Also thanks for the warm welcome!
Oh! You do have the wrong version.
See on mine it says 1.9.4, not 1.9 (The mods for 1.9.4 are compatible with 1.10). Download the one for 1.10.2 again, and make sure it has the 1.9.4 on the end.
is there a way to declare a mod client side, inside the mod? if so could you implement it? I really enjoy your mod. i keep forgetting to disable it though when setting up a server. it would also make setting up a server from a mod pack that uses your mod much easier. As drag and drop would be more likely a possibility. And it would take less time to find all the client side mods and disable them, as there would be one less trying to run.
I just tried looking up if there was a way to declare a mod server sided or client sided. I can't find it. I thought I had seen it referenced somewhere though.
Unfortunately, no, not right now. I was working on a way to get both working together a while back, but never got to finishing it.

Hey. I downloaded the 1.8.9 version of this mod, and it's simply not working. I'm using the latest version of forge and no other mods are installed.
Hey, does it say it's loaded ingame, when you go to the mods list?
I believe so, yeah.
Ah, so it is loaded. What exactly isn't working about it? The reverb, sound occlusion, or both?
Both. Nothing is working -- it sounds like I don't even have the mod installed.

[Client thread/INFO] [STDOUT]: [com.tmtravlr.soundfilters.SoundFiltersMod:<clinit>:105]: [Sound Filters] Loaded modified library.

[Client thread/INFO] [FML]: Forge Mod Loader has successfully loaded 4 mods
That's all the useful (I think anyway) information I could find in the console.
Ah, okay, good. So it is loading the modified library...
Before trying anything else, try re-downloading the mod, in case it somehow got corrupted.
If that doesn't fix it, then go into the config file and enable the debug output, and see what that says when it loads.
What am I looking for exactly?

I don't know if this is a bug or not but in the curse download page it shows that it is compatible with Minecraft version 1.10.2
But when I actually try to use the mod in Minecraft version 1.10.2 it says that it is only compatible with Minecraft version 1.9

Hmm, are you sure you have the right version? The 1.9 version is the only one that should say that.
Yep! I'm using the lastest version of the mod and sorry for the late reply

How very strange. I just tested it, and it's loading fine for me. Just to make sure, your file looks like this, right?
By the way, welcome to minecraft forums!
