Anyone interested in a fix for version 1.2.0 when it crashes the
server on right clicking the Lazer with a wire download 1.1.9 as well as
1.2.0. Change the file names of both files from .jar to .zip Then
extract both files to a folder each, then in the 1.1.9 folder find com\codingforcookies\betterrecords\src\items\BlockLazer.class and copy that into the 1.2.0 folder and rezip that so that the folder structure is::
assets
com
META-INF
mcmod.info
Then rename the zip to .jar and add/replace the old Betterrecords.jar files for both clients and server.
Also another temp fix for the Record Player block's lid not opening is to place any other block above it and then remove it, it will open/close again. That or just make sure you leave it open so the lid gets stuck in the open position.
Input url to youtube video and change "mp3" to "ogg" in the dropdown
Then click "convert", wait till it's done, right click the "Download" button and select "Copy link address"
This doesn't effect the client at all, it just causes a dedicated server to crash and create a crash-log (world save is successful)
This occurs both when right clicked with a wire and when empty handed.
I don't see anything in the log that might give evidence that it's another mod causing it, but if so could I possibly be pointed in the right direction?

Question, is it possible to relay a Wire in order for it to extend it's range? For example, since the Wires are only visible when the cutters/other wires are in hand, if you could make wire nodes to string things along you could spread speakers all around your large house and be able to hear the song wherever inside of it.

Nop. The problem with long wires is all the problems they bring such as infinite loops.
Just hook up 15 large speakers underground for the sound, close to the player. You can place the rest as deco

okay thanks. Additionally, I can't seem to get it to work on LAN, meaning every song that is loaded displays "Error could not read file" when somebody else loads the disk. That being said, i could hear my own songs. We are loading it through a mediafire "Copy link address" method, and the files are .ogg, so im not sure what is the error here.
I don't know the answer to your question CrimsonSpark, but I seem to remember that it is possible to configure the block range of the sound, so you could make the song be heard all over your house that way.

Hi Guys,
This crash happens when right click on the lighter trying to connect it to the record player.
It happens only on server side and not in client side.

Thank you funkster - will test this out

Is there a folder where the .mp3/.ogg stuff go to?
I think it's in Config/CarpentersBlocks/someotherfolder
??
woops, brainfart, I meant betterrecords.
We've had this problem with the lid, so thanks again Funkster. Will try it out - never would have thought of placing a block on top!
Okay! I need a song URL... I'm 9 and can't get the thing to get a URL so can someone give me a song name and a URL? PLEASE!?!? 😳
Er, if you give us the song, we'll happily convert it..
We upload our mp3's to our dropbox account and then get the url by pressing "share"...
Just go to http://convert2mp3.net/en/
Input url to youtube video and change "mp3" to "ogg" in the dropdown
Then click "convert", wait till it's done, right click the "Download" button and select "Copy link address"
Go in minecraft and insert the url
Pretty easy
So on the point of there being massive changes for the 1.8 version... What does that entail?
Plans on new blocks or just how the mod handles playback internally?
It'd be nice to see more interaction between the world and the jukebox/radio, but any news on what exactly massive might mean would be awesome.
This has become one of my favorite mods and I'd really like to see it grow and flourish.
Running into an issue with a server side crash when the lazer is right clicked.

Saw there's been some progress for 1.8.9 on github, will we get a build soon?
