I can't anything about your crash, or if drag-n-drop will ever be implemented, but I can say that if you're looking to add things manually I've already posted a veritable essay on the subject here. The nutshell is that you can edit the localLibrary.json file manually to get Better Records to pick up added songs. You can also use the semi-automated program I whipped up. The program's a Java class file, which means you'll have to run it from the command line. If you're unsure how to do this, just reference the aforementioned post.
Place your mp3 files in the icraft music folder, craft a Icraft and play your music, change songs, repeat from anywhere ingame.
while your mod looks cool tbh i dont need it as far as i know and i came here because it has stuff i wanted such as actually having records XD and tbh isnt it kinda rude to put in another mod that is "competing" with this mod's forum post? when i have mods id like people to know about i message them so please message someone about a mod if you feel theyd like a better one thank you for trying to help tho

So - this mod is pretty freakin epic. Super Kudos!
Question, however: Is there any way to increase the music's range? I know you can use speakers, but those have a very limited range too - it appears they can only be linked if they're within about 6 blocks.

The way the record player/radio work is depending on speaker type it adds a certain play radius, and if the distance from that record player/radio is greater than the play radius it doesn't play the song. And because of that, having speakers super far away from the record player/radio will not actually make the song loud in that area.
Now, I could go and change how that works, or make a config option to swap out how it works. Where it plays music from the speaker & the record player/etcher. I just don't know how well it will work.
For the error, were you on a server, or in singleplayer? I'm guessing it was a client crash and not a server crash too.

There is no competing between mods. If you knew anything, BetterRecords plays records from such as dropbox and creates records that can be played in a stationary record player and can be turned into a stage to play the records. ICraft is a mod that makes it so that you can have an in game media player played by crafting a ICraft. In ICraft No one can hear your music, only you can and must also place your own mp3 files in the folder. ICraft will play your music while you travel and is not stationary, so go mining, kill mobs, pause, repeat, reload your mp3 files from in the game. Last I checked Better Records has absolutely no plans on adding such a feature to their mod. I only made that comment, because what the other player was asking for was something that did not come from BetterRecords. I believe in combining both mods and making something super awesome. There is no competing, no one really makes money and / or gets famous from doing all this hard work. It's community based game play. Everyone pitches in a little.

Ahhhhh .. I misunderstood how speakers worked - I thought they basically acted as a second record player/radio - I didn't realize that they increased the actual radius heard per speaker attached - That's much more helpful than I thought
The crash - yes, Client only - Sorry, I should have specified. The crash was on a server - I have NOT tried it in single player.

Onwards to suggestions! You've probably heard them already, but hey.. the search on these forums suck, so checking isn't very easy
In no particular order:
1) Have a stop/restart or on/off on the radio and record player - perhaps hitting them when the cases are closed will stop/resume? Having to take the crystal out for a few minutes to do something, and put it back in, or when someone new logs in who hasn't heard before, etc, is a pain. Not HORRIBLE, just inconvenient. Even having, perhaps, a redstone signal stopping it (or starting it) would be awesome.
2) Repeating records. I'm fairly sure I saw this one when scrolling through the pages, but having a way to repeat at the end - perhaps a configurable 'timeout' delay before it restarts? Even something like getting a new redstone signal re-starting it if it's stopped would be pretty helpful - Just something to avoid having to take the record off and put it back on again to restart.
--- And some questions that I have not tested yet, but seeing as how you're quick to respond, it will probably be easier to just ask rather than attempt to do them
1) When creating a multi-record, we're limited to just 8 songs on 1 record (the multi-record, and up to 8 other records in the crafting grid)? You can't make a multi-record out of other multi-records, correct?
2) Is there any way to clone a record, or tune crystal (outside of being op and using /more or something)
3) I see downloaded songs are stored in a cache folder - Do they ever automatically delete, or once they're downloaded, do you have them until you manually delete them? If the latter, perhaps consider having an in-game button to delete them? (or specific ones that you choose?)
Keep up the awesome work - This is, hands down, my favorite cosmetic mod in existence.

im sorry, i had heard that modders get upset if someone posts a similar mod on their mod post. again im sorry.

I actually setup something earlier today which makes the sound come from the speakers.. kinda, not actually. But it sounds like it, so I'll be adding it as a config option that is default enabled.
The crash is interesting, I'll mention it to stumblin to see if he understands why.
1) I could add it so when you give them a redstone signal they stop any current song, and don't let it start any new one. I don't know if I'm able to detect when someone loads a record player to start playing the song if they have it, or download then start playing it. But I'll also look into that..
2) Repeating does exist if you put a comparator + your record/multirecord in a crafting table.
--
1) You can not make a multi-record out of another multi-record or just a normal record. As of this time it isn't possible to get more than 8 songs on one record. This will most likely not change, but potentially a change could happen that allows hopper interaction, and with redstone controls you would be able to some sort of thing to have an "infinite" record.
2) As of currently no way exists to clone a record, I don't know how I feel about the possibility.. But you will see in the next version if it happens.
3) The songs do stay in the cache forever, a block could be made to display all downloaded songs & a way to delete them from the cache. Obviously this is just a visual thing and could be done manually so I wouldn't make the block too expensive. But I have no clue where else I would put such a thing.
An idea I have is to give a redstone signal strength of the song index the record player is currently playing. As I have no real way to detect when a song is over, this may be the best bet.
their share link <iframe src="http://tunein.com/embed/player/s37361/" style="width:100%;height:100px;" scrolling="no" frameborder="no"></iframe> could be identified in Frequency Tuner[/b].
I try use http://tunein.com/embed/player/s37361/ then success. But when I put this Frequency Crystal [/b]in radio it says "Error,Could not read stream"! Could u teach me how to use this?thanks!
Nuuuuuuu! Its not working for me, I put in the URL from the http://media.io/ place, but nothing works! Could you please help me? The directions at the top didnt nessicarily help me. Thank u.:creeperdance:

Could someone help me? I navigated to a MP3 site and pasted the url that the song was playing on, but the record etcher said that it wasn't in the right format.

If you wouldn't mind posting the link I could see the issue.
For others, I have a few things left to do and I'll most likely be doing the last 1.7.10 build and doing some massive changes to the mod in the 1.8 versions. I will fix any issues that occur in 1.7 but no more features will be added.
This mod isn't the top of my priority but I still look to give it enough updates to keep it running.
Guys, I have found the solution for the problem! Paste the share link in the url box and at the end of the link there's 'dl=0'. Change the 0 into 1 and you are set to go.

dl=0 is like a dropbox file preview, while =1 is the direct file, so yeah, only =1 will work

Until someone ports this legendary mod I am leaving the minecraft scene. http://www.cosc.canterbury.ac.nz/greg.ewing/minecraft/mods/ArchitectureCraft/#mozTocId598776 I have watched too many legendary mods die and carpenters blocks sudden fallout out of mainstream made me cry. I realize the source is messy but some of the best mods from 1.6.4 and 1.7.10 were.

Dropbox works, but you have to change the end of the URL from ?dl=0 to ?dl=1.
As an example, here's a public link from my Dropbox that should work for you:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/f7xuptxdfbs5aqc/SeaVoyage.mp3?dl=1
