If anyone still cares, I figured out what I was doing wrong.Total face-palm worthy I wasn't actually using forge properly. I thought I could just use any minecraft version under the forge profile. I didn't realise forge had a specific one at the bottom.

hey man im using this alongside oceancraft and it seems like your mobs are not spawning naturally... just the oceancraft ones. Also could you PLEASE update to 1.9.4
also when i disable oceancraft the only mobs spawning are all the fish, i couldnt find any seahorse, swordfish or serpent. Now the serpent i can understand that its rare and hard to find but the seahorses and swordfish should be fairly common no?
what mods you using custom spawners via mo creatures? go to custom spawners open up overworld find creatures> oceancraft > notepad , then click file repacle false with true replace all save then do the same for the main config or any others you need.
I have the same problem, as ztevn, I have never seen a sailfish/swordfish, seahorse or serpent naturally spawn ever, I do have a quite of other mods, but I tried running even without any other mods, I can use creative or commands to create them and they act normally. The only issue is natural generation. Whales are rare, but I can still find one time to time so I can conclude that if I have found whales but not a single sailfish, there is something wrong.
How can you keep the mobs from despawning? I wish to contain a serpent in a large aquarium and it keeps despawning, and nametags won't work. I can't use the /summon command with this mod as it does not support it, so I cant use the persistence tag. Could you possible add a config or something in a future release or do you know something I could do to prevent the serpent from despawning? I really enjoy watching it swim and hunt as the animation and model is beautiful and it's a shame that it keeps vanishing.

I would like an answer to this as well. It's causing issues.
Add AnimationAPI like the OP tells you to...
Started getting this crash - any ideas?
Is it conflicting with another mob ID?

This is great!
Will I be able to reprint it?
please!

i wasnt aware u need custom mob spawner for this
you don't. I just asumed since mobs were disappearing that you either have custom mob spawner or jas (just another spawner) in your mods folder.
theyre not disappeaing theyre just not spwaning, except for the fishes
I have the same problem, as ztevn, I have never seen a sailfish/swordfish, seahorse or serpent naturally spawn ever, I do have a quite of other mods, but I tried running even without any other mods, I can use creative or commands to create them and they act normally. I have a suggestion maybe you can add big creatures like humpback whales they have 150 health and drop whale blubber and whale meat and are peaceful.

Yeah, too many fish to run this game, but, if you use a mod with big hungry sea predators, it works okay
Is this mod dead? i hope not
